  • A Buyers Guide to Real Estate Awesome Homes for Under 750K A
From: Paul Cibrano [email protected] Subject: A Buyers Guide to Real Estate, Awesome Homes for Under $750k, A Spotify Playlist and Shameless Self Promotion Date: November 6, 2018 at 1:13 PM To: [email protected] A Buyers Guide To Real Estate In An Aggressive Buyers Market The last few months, I've been sharing that the current NYC market is one of the most favorable for buyers (there were over 800 price drops after Labor Day!) and now I'm going to share with you the perennial after Labor Day!) and now I'm going to share with you the perennial guide for Buying as well as the process you can expect! 1. Find An Agent Look for a licensed real estate agent who is knowledgeable about the neighborhoods you’re considering and is an expert in the process. 2. Get Pre-Approved Before beginning your search, you should get pre-approved by a mortgage banker for a loan (unless you are all-cash buyer). Your Compass Agent can connect you with a trusted mortgage banker to determine your ultimate buying power. 3. View Properties Attending viewings and open houses spanning a range of areas and property types. Work with your agent to narrow down your search. 4. Make An Offer Reach an agreement with the seller on price and terms. Once you have seen a home you like, you can put in an “offer”, which is a non-binding agreement to pay a certain price for the property. Your Compass agent will advise you on negotiation strategies throughout this process.

  • Copeland Bio 2014
Copeland - IXORA Aaron Marsh Bryan Laurenson Jonathan Bucklew Stephen Laurenson Copeland has reunited to release their sixth album after calling it quits in 2009. Here’s what you need to know: • Copeland formed in Lakeland, Florida in 2001. The band’s first album, Beneath Medicine Tree, came out in 2003 on indie label The Militia Group. The album’s layered melodies, combined with Marsh’s thoughtful, emotive croon, immediately engaged music fans, offering a nuanced take on the emo music of the early ‘00s. The group unveiled four subsequent albums between 2005 and 2008, including Eat, Sleep, Repeat on Columbia Records in 2006. Copeland signed with Tooth & Nail in 2008 and have partnered with the label to release their long awaited sixth album, Ixora. • In their heyday, the band played over 200 shows a year. They’ve toured with Brand New, Sparta, Goo Goo Dolls, The Rentals, Bob Mould, Switchfoot, Motion City Soundtrack and Guster. Copeland has also historically supported new artists and Paramore’s first ever show was opening for Copeland in Nashville in 2004. • Copeland officially broke up in October of 2009 after nine years as a band. They wrote on their website, “We have come to an extremely difficult decision. It has come time for us to move on from Copeland and follow other paths in our lives. To put your minds at ease, we assure you this is not a bitter break up. We all individually feel Copeland has run its course in our lives and it’s time for us to pursue what is next.” The band members added, “It has been discussed and we are not ruling out the possibility of recording one more album sometime in the future.” • The band members have pursued other musical endeavors over the past few years.

  • Masculinity in Emo Music a Thesis Submitted to the Faculty of Arts and Social Science in Candi
CARLETON UNIVERSITY FLUID BODIES: MASCULINITY IN EMO MUSIC A THESIS SUBMITTED TO THE FACULTY OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCE IN CANDIDACY FOR THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF ARTS DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC BY RYAN MACK OTTAWA, ONTARIO MAY 2014 ABSTRACT Emo is a genre of music that typically involves male performers, which evolved out of the punk and hardcore movements in Washington DC during the mid-80s. Scholarly literature on emo has explored its cultural and social contexts in relation to the “crisis” of masculinity—the challenging of the legitimacy of patriarchy through “alternative” forms of masculinity. This thesis builds upon this pioneering work but departs from its perpetuation of strict masculine binaries by conflating hegemonic and subordinate/alternative masculinities into a single subject position, which I call synergistic masculinity. In doing so, I use emo to explicate this vis-à-vis an intertextual analysis that explores the dominant themes in 1) lyrics; 2) the sites of vocal production (head, throat, chest) in conjunction with pitch and timbre; 3) the extensional and intensional intervallic relationships between notes and chords, and the use of dynamics in the musical syntax; 4) the use of public and private spaces, as well as the performative masculine body in music video. I posit that masculine emo performers dissolve these hierarchically organized masculinities, which allows for a deeper musical meaning and the extramusical signification of masculinity. Keywords: emo, synergistic masculinity, performativity, music video, masculinities, lyrics, vocal production, musical syntax, dynamics. ABSTRAIT Emo est un genre musical qui implique typiquement des musiciens de sexe masculine et qui est issu de movement punk et hardcore originaire de Washington DC durant les années 80.

What is the inspiration behind Godkiller? A. When I was on tour with my first film Threat in Europe, I visited tons of churches and museums and was just really struck by the juxtaposition of pagan art and Christian art… and how much Vatican City resembles Disneyland. It’s as if religions and mythologies and cultures compete for disciples through art… that popular art is a battleground of cultural ideas. So I was inspired to create an ongoing, serialized, pop-art mythology for my people: fuck-ups and weirdos and misfits. Q. Is “illustrated films” just a pretentious way of saying “motion comics?” A. Ha. Yes. Well… No, I don’t think so anyway.

Drive-Thru Records From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (March 2013) Drive-Thru Records Founded 1996 Founder Richard Reines Stefanie Reines Distributor(s) INgrooves Genre Pop punk Alternative rock Indie rock Post-hardcore Country of origin USA Location Sherman Oaks, California Official website http://www.myspace.com/drivethrurecords Drive-Thru Records logo used on You Can't Do that on Vinyl Drive-Thru Records, established in 1996, was a California-based record label owned by siblings Richard and Stefanie Reines. The label was responsible for popularizing the pop-punk/emo sound of the early to mid-2000s. After facing financial obstacles in getting their bands' music into stores, Drive-Thru entered into a distribution deal with MCA/Universal. MCA was dissolved and changed into Geffen Records. One of the clauses of that agreement was MCA/Geffen being able to sign any band of their choosing from Drive-Thru's roster. Once the Universal deal ended, they signed a contract with independent label Sanctuary Records. Starting with a new roster, the label garnered a top 10 platinum hit with "Here In Your Arms" by the Hellogoodbye. However, Sanctuary was on the verge of bankruptcy, and sold their assets to Universal Music. Drive-Thru Records got trapped in that deal, and were stuck with UMD, the catalog division of Universal. The label's last release was in 2008, when Richard and Stefanie Reines decided to concentrate on artist management and put Drive-Thru Records on indefinite hiatus.

  • Motion City Soundtrack Stir up Old Memories at the Fillmore
Motion City SoundtrackCO sNtTiIrN UuEp TO o SlIdTE memories at the Fillmore Monday, February 17, 2020 by Emily Cassel in Music Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack at the Fillmore last night. Natalia Mendez For the first few months I lived here, I walked around Minneapolis with Motion City Soundtrack’s “Better Open the Door” playing near-constantly in my head. OK, really, it was just one line: “Frank fails to see the humor in my sad attempts at breakdancing in every bar along Lyndale Avenue.” Every trip to Muddy Waters or the VFW, passing street signs for Lyndale, it popped unwillingly into my mind, a sort of lyrical landmark orienting me to my new reality. Lyndale Avenue is a real place. The CC Club is a real place. The Triple Rock is a real place. (Or was, RIP.) Look, MCS were no Hold Steady—it’s not like they served as a geocache map of Minnesota—but it meant something to me to be in a place that meant at least a small something to them. I memorized those words long before this state held any significance for me: When I was an angsty teen in a small town outside of Philly, they’d always been a Stagnant Suburban Soundtrack, with songs about alienation and depression and loneliness backed by zoomy synths that made it not so bad to feel all those things. Is this all a little self-indulgently nostalgic? Sure, fine. But hey pal, that’s what these latest MCS dates are . That’s what a reunion tour is .
