KLJUŒNE BESEDE: Neuroptera, volkci, Myrmeleontidae, Dendroleon pantherinus, razøirjenost, Slovenija Introduction Antlions (Myrmeleontidae) are medium-sized to large neuropterans, widely dis- tributed in warmer and dry regions. About 2000 valid species in ca. 350 genera are known (Aspöck et al., 2001; Stange, 2004). In Europe, there have been ca. 50 species recorded (Aspöck et al., 2001; Pantaleoni et al., 2010). In the northwestern part of the Balkan Peninsula, 19 species in 13 genera occur (Aspöck et al., 1980, 2001; Devetak, 1992a). -

E-mail: [email protected] Abstract A new species of the genus Dendroleon (Dendroleon falcatus Zhan & Wang sp. nov.) is described from China. This new species can be distinguished from other Dendroleon species by the following characters: the significantly larger size, the long abdomen in males, and the particular wing shape and markings. Dendroleon javanus Banks, 1914 was previously reported in China based on a misidentification; the Chinese specimens are actually Bullanga florida (Navás, 1913). An identification key and distribution map are provided for Dendroleon species recorded from China. Key words: Tibet, Dendroleontini, antlion Introduction The antlion genus Dendroleon Brauer, 1866 is one of the most widely distributed genera in the family Myrmeleontidae (Neuroptera). The adults of Dendroleon are similar to the genera Gatzara Navás, 1915 and Nepsalus Navás, 1914 in appearance; however, the latter mentioned genera have elongate anterior gonapophysis which is as long as or longer than posterior gonapophysis. Esben-Petersen (1923) revised the genus Dendroleon and recognized eight species worldwide at that time. There are now nineteen extant species listed in the genus (Stange, 2004). -

Abstract A cladistic analysis of the New World tribe Brachynemurini has resulted in several new taxonomic designations. The tribe is divided into 3 tribes, 2 of which are newly described. The Brachynemurini S.S. now contains 12 genera of which Argentoleon, Atricholeon, Mmleon and Venezueleon are newly described. The Gnopholeontini (NEW TRIBE) includes 4 North American genera whereas the Lemolemini (NEW TRIBE) contains 6 South American genera of which Ecualwn and Galapagolwn are newly described. -

The wide distribution of B. florida in southern China is discussed under the context of habitat selection of the larvae. Meanwhile, comparing the adults and larvae between B. florida and Dendroleon esbenpeterseni Miller & Stange, 1999, extensive morphological similarities suggest that these two species may belong to a same genus. Key words: Myrmeleontiformia, larval morphology, larval biology, Oriental region Introduction Dendroleontini Banks, 1899 is a widely distributed tribe of antlions in all zoogeographical regions, but is absent in the Neotropics, and most diverse in the Old World. According to the Myrmeleontidae traditional classification (Stange 2004), Dendroleontini is placed in the subfamily Myrmeleontinae, including 36 genera and 190 species. Recently, Machado et al. (2019) established a new classification of Myrmeleontidae based on phylogenomics using anchored hybrid enrichment (AHE) sequencing data, and Dendroleontini under the traditional classification as in Stange (2004) was raised to be a subfamily, i.e., Dendroleontinae, which is divided into two tribes (i.e., Acantho- plectrini and Dendroleontini). -

Stange (2004) reported that the species is distributed in China, but actually this district belongs to Vietnam other than China. Banks (1941) considered Bullanga is a synonym of Nuglerus. However, Stange (1976) thought that Bullanga was a valid genus which was comprised of three valid species: Bullanga binaria, Bullanga insolita (Banks, 1940). Bullanga indecisa (Banks, 1913). Later B. indecisa was placed into the genus Mossega by New (1985). Then Stange (2004) placed the species Dendroleon florida, which was originally described in genus Glenurus by Navás (1913), into the genus Bullanga. Thus the genus currently comprises three valid species which are distributed in China and Vietnam now. Accoridng to Stange (2004), the genus Bullanga belongs to tribe Dendroleontini, and subtribe Dendroleontina.
