RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders continue their search for their first win of the season tonight as the Calgary Hitmen visit the Art Hauser Centre. Last Saturday, the Raiders dropped their second game of the season 7-3 to the Warriors in Moose Jaw at Mosaic Place. Jordy Stallard (1g-1a) and Cole Fonstad (2a) led the way for the Raiders’ offensively. Parker Kelly returned from Ottawa’s training camp fresh off signing an entry-level contract to pick up his first point of the year with a third-period . Nicholas Sanders got the start in goal, stopping 23 shots in a losing effort.

VS. CALGARY: This is the first meeting of the season between the Raiders and the Calgary Hitmen. Last year, the Raiders and Hitmen split the season series. Each team earned one of their two wins in overtime. In the last meeting, Brayden Pachal scored 1:52 into overtime to give the Raiders a 3-2 win at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Power play: Prince Albert – 1/12; Calgary – 2/18 Leading scorer: Prince Albert – Parker Kelly (4a); Calgary – Mark Kastelic (4a)

POINTS RACE: Jordy Stallard and Cole Fonstad are currently tied for first in the Raiders’ scoring race. Both players had two-point performances in Saturday’s 7-3 loss to the Warriors in Moose Jaw.

STREAKING STALLARD: Speaking of Stallard, he has points in seven of his 10 games with the Raiders after being acquired from the Hitmen at last season’s WHL Trade Deadline. The Winnipeg Jets prospect has seven goals and five assists in that span, including two goals against his former team.

ROSTER MOVES: The Raiders made three roster moves throughout the week. On Monday, the Raiders re-assigned ’00- born defenceman Lane Kirk to the Swan Valley Stampeders of the MJHL. On Thursday, ’98-born winger Kolby Johnson was re-assigned to the SJHL’s La Ronge Ice Wolves and ’98-born centre Drew Warkentine was re-assigned to the AJHL’s Whitecourt Wolverines.

NEXT UP: The Raiders are back at it tomorrow night as the Medicine Hat Tigers come to town for WHL Suits Up with Don Cherry to Promote Organ Donation Night presented by RE/MAX. The Raiders will be holding a silent auction for Don Cherry-themed jerseys worn on this night up until five minutes into the third period. All proceeds from the jersey auction will go to the branch of The Kidney Foundation of Canada. Both games begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com.

TRENDS: The Hitmen have outshot their opponent in both games this season but have also surrendered the opening goal twice.

WE MEET AGAIN: Tonight marks the return of Luke Coleman to Prince Albert. The 19-year-old played parts of three seasons with the Raiders, appearing in 123 games and notching 42 points. He was sent to the Hitmen on Jan. 10, 2017 along with a fourth-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft in exchange for Jordy Stallard and a seventh-round selection in 2017.

ROSTER MOVES: On Monday, the Hitmen made a pair of roster moves. The first saw the Hitmen acquire 19-year-old defenceman Ryely McKinstry from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft. McKinstry, from Calgary, AB, is a former second round selection of the Giants but has been limited to 43 games in three seasons due to injury. He was the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League’s top defenceman during his draft year, tallying 36 points (9g, 27a) in 29 games that season for the Calgary Bisons of the AMBHL. Also on Monday, the Hitmen released 19-year-old defenceman Jakob LaPointe. LaPointe appeared in 91 games over parts of three seasons in Calgary.

QUIET START: Including tonight, the Hitmen play only three games in nine days. Calgary will then start a stretch of five games in eight nights which includes a BC road trip.

WHL DEBUT: Four Hitmen played their first career WHL regular season game last weekend: Layne Toder, Hunter Campbell, Andrew Viggars and Cael Zimmerman. Two others, who made the opening weekend roster, are waiting for their first appearance although netminders Matthew Armitage and Connor Dochuk have both dressed as the back-up goalie.

LET’S GO CAMPING: Seven Hitmen roster players headed to NHL camps this month: Jake Bean (Carolina), Luke Coleman (Edmonton), Matteo Gennaro (Ottawa), Mark Kastelic (San Jose), Beck Malenstyn (Washington), Nick Schneider (Calgary) and Jakob Stukel (Vancouver). Only Bean remains in the NHL and is one of 10 defencemen remaining on the Hurricanes pre-season roster.

REGULAR SEASON CAREER MILESTONE WATCH: Jake Bean is two points shy of 150. Beck Malenstyn needs two goals for 50 and two points for 100. He is also two games shy of 200. Malenstyn recorded his 50th career assist against the ICE in last Saturday’s Home Opener. Jakob Stukel is four games away from 200.
