Rahu has papargala on both Arudha Lagna (name, reputation, Status) and on lagna (health) that are unobstructed. It aspects the Satrupada (A6) with Ketu in it and the lawyer suddenly de cided to enter politics to oppose the Government (Ketu lead the revolt). Naturally seeing Ketu be coming malefic, the host of planets in the sixth including' Sun (Govt.), Jupiter, Mercury (partners etc.) all became malefic. Venus too has the pupargala of Rahu and the native had a disas trous fall with umpteen court cases, news-paper propaganda etc. Within six months all his mov able assets were lost paying lawyers fees etc. But true to the strength of the lagnesh .he was deter mined to fight it out. Unified Nakshatra Dasa Approach: in Annual & Natal Charts
Om Gam Ganapataye Namah Om Rishibhyo Namah Om Sree Gurubhyo Namah Unified Nakshatra Dasa Approach: In Annual & Natal Charts P.V.R. Narasimha Rao January 7, 2014 (version 4) December 31, 2013 (version 1) Warning : All copyrights are reserved with author. This article cannot be reproduced in any form in part or in full, without express permission from the author. Introduction Maharshi Parasara taught nine conditional nakshatra dasas after teaching Vimsottari dasa. Each dasa has a condition of applicability. For example, Shodasottari dasa applies if birth occurs in Sun's hora in Sukla paksha or in Moon's hora in Krishna paksha, i.e. it applies in 50% charts. Dwisaptati sama dasa applies if lagna lord is in 7 th house or 7 th lord is in lagna, i.e. it applies in 16.67% charts. Different conditional nakshatra dasas apply under different conditions and the applicability rate varies from 8.33% to 50%. There are three conditional nakshatra dasas that apply in 50% charts. These dasas obviously have an overlap, i.e. several dasas may be applicable in the same chart. On top of all these dasas, of course, Vimsottari dasa is considered the most important nakshatra dasa. The obvious question: How can we pick the best dasa in a chart? Some people use rarer conditional dasas when they are applicable, but ignore 3 common conditional dasas with 50% applicability rate. That does not make sense – why did Parasara teach them if they are not useful? One more consideration: If we always prefer a conditional nakshatra dasa to Vimsottari dasa when atleast one of them is applicable, then we will very rarely end up using Vimsottari dasa. -
A Fresh Perspective on the Astronomy of the Mahabharata
ISBN: 978-1-9051860-1-3 © Dr Manish Pandit 2019 !ii Dedicated To My Gurus and Divine Mother Kali !i Foreword 3067BCE: A Fresh Perspective on the Astronomy of the Mahabharata I made the film “Krishna: History or Myth” in 2008 after a set of severe arguments on the subject of the historicity of Sri Krishna and Sri Rama, one of which was with a junior doctor when working as a surgeon in 2002 in the West Midlands. I had come across several pieces of research which claimed to corroborate the astronomy of the Mahabharata war. Amongst these were the research by PV Vartak, (5561BCE) a senior MBBS doctor residing in Pune who I have had the pleasure of meeting years ago in Pune, the research by Dr Narahari Achar from Memphis (3067BCE), Balakrishna and Sengupta (2449BCE) among others. I never wanted to really make a film on the subject, but nobody else was willing, partly due to the cost involved in the shooting of such a film (those were the days when digital film cameras were only just about becoming affordable) and of the course nobody wanted to take the risk of making a film which most Indian, English language, Hinduphobic channels would not show. I also had to check and see which piece of research was actually true: 5561BCCE, 3067BCE, 3139BCE, 3043BCE or indeed 1478BCE or 2449BCE among others. It took me a lot of time to go through the various pieces of research from 2004 to 2007 and eventually after taking great care to !ii exclude the wrong pieces of research, I sat down and corroborated the research on Redshift. -

Her book In Search of Destiny: Biography, History, & Culture Told Through Vedic Astrology is due in 2011. See her website: www.edithhathaway.com. Basics: Graha Yuddha1 is a Planetary war. It occurs when two planets are within one degree of each other, either in the same sign or in adjacent signs. Only five planets can participate: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. Depending on various factors, the vanquished planet (especially as Ascendant lord) can bring drastic results, losing its power as house lord and as karaka (significator) over matters it rules. This condition can also be observed with transiting planets, especially if they mirror a Graha Yuddha in the birth chart or if the Ascendant lord is involved. Mars as loser brings exceptional results. Graha Yuddha is not considered in Western tropical astrology. However, using the rules given here, it should be considered with every planetary conjunction involving these planets, the most pivotal being the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. -

Introduction to Vedic Astrology
Introduction to Vedic Astrology Pt. Sanjay Rath, Paramaguru, SJC w Sri Jagannath Centre w 15B Gangaram Hospital Road, New Delhi 110060 • +91 11 25717162, +91 11 25717162, http://srijagannath.org Academic Director, JIVA • Jagannath Institute of Vedic Astrology w P.O. Basic Vedic Astrology Perhaps the first step in Vedic Astrology is to discard the idea that it is some kind of a superstition. Astrology is composed of two words "Astro" referring to the study of celestial bodies and phenomena and "Logos" meaning the logical application of this scientific study. Vedic refers to the period of the writing of the Vedas and the codification of the data from the Brighu's (database created across India in the form of Brighu Samhita having records of various birth charts and their life events). Thus, Vedic Astrology refers to the method of Astrology as studied and practised in India since time immemorial. The principal exponent of this is Maharishi Parasara whose writings in the monumental classic Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra form the standard text for Jyotish (Vedic Astrology). Jyotish is not fatalistic and none other than Brahma Himself can tell you exactly what is going to happen. In fact of the twelve houses that govern the various facets of life, the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses are called Upachaya or houses of growth. The affairs connected with this house are based on the exercise of free will of the individual and cannot be dictated upon. -
Jyotish Vidya ( Sage Parasara ) Chapter 1. the Creation 1-4
1 Jyotish vidya ( sage Parasara ) Chapter 1. The Creation 1-4. Offering his obeisance to all-knowing sage Parasara and with folded hands, Maitreya said, "O Venerable, Astrology, the supreme limb of the Vedas, has three divisions, viz. Hora, Ganita and Samhita. Among the said three divisions, Hora or genethliac part of astrology is still more excellent. I desire to know of its glorious aspects from you. Be pleased to tell me, "How this Universe is created? How does it end? What is the relationship of the animals born on this earth with the heavenly bodies? Please speak elaborately". 5-8. Parasara answered, O Brahmin, your query (so to say, the desire to know of the intricacies of astrology) has an auspicious purpose in it for the welfare of the Universe. Praying Lord Brahma and Sri Saraswati, His power (and consort), and the Sun God, the leader of the planets and the cause of Creation. I shall proceed to narrate to you the Science of Astrologfy as heard through Lord Brahma. Only good will follow the teaching of this science to the students who are peacefully disposed, who honour the preceptors (and elders), who speak only truth and who are God-fearing. Woeful for ever doubtlessly will it be to impart knowledge of this science to an unwilling student, to a heterodox, and to a crafty person. 9-12. Sri Vishnu who is the lord (of all matters), who has undefiled spirit, who is endowed with the three Gunas although he transcends the grip of Gunas (i.e. Gunatita), who is the Author of this Universe, who is glorious, who is the Cause and who is endowed with valor has no beginning. -

The portions of the nakshatra are: o Last 3 deg 20 min of Aslesha & first 3 deg 20 min of Makha. o Last 3 deg 20 min of Jyeshta & first 3 deg 20 min of Mula. o Last 3 deg 20 min of Revati & first 3 deg 20 min of Ashwini. These are the malefic junction regions in a chart. Among these Parasara considers 1 the Jyeshta-Mula gandanta to be the worst afflicted and the Revati-Ashwini to be the least problematic. Gandanta is considered particularly inopportune because it is a double sandhi, a juncture of both two rasis as well as two nakshatras. -
