Spur 1966 Aesthetic Treatments EL Paso, Texas DRAFT 10/18/12 SCHUSTER ROUNDABOUT - OVERALL

Transitions from the student parking lots and adjacent sidewalks make the pedestrian tunnels and interior of the roundabout a safer and more inviting environment. Accessible ramps and stairs create functional yet aesthetic routes of travel for all potential users.

Large Canopy trees create shade and work in conjunction with landscape beds to direct pedestrian flows and break up large expanses of pavement. Intricate patterns of shade canopies cover the center of the roundabout and combine with a water feature and locally-created artwork to create an enjoyable and comfortable pedestrian experience within the interior of the roundabout.
