1 In our fourth year we completed and began to implement our strategic plan in the areas of Catholic identity, academic excellence, finance, enrollment, development and facilities. We spent a great deal of time working toward the launch of our Excellence Faith Future Capital Campaign in response to our surging enrollment growth to ensure human formation and academic success of our Saints long into the future. Our goal for the campaign is 9 million dollars, and to date we have 5 million dollars pledged and received. Over the next three years, the campaign requires each of us to look into our heart, as those who have gone before us, to realize that, to a great extent, it is through Berks Catholic High School that our Saint’s faith blossoms and grows, our Church gains strength, it ensures future leaders and solidifies the future of Catholic education. The proposed three story Learning Center will consist of a cafeteria expansion on the lower level, two classrooms and a Learning Commons on the first floor and six classrooms on the second floor. In addition a balcony is proposed for the auditorium to allow for over 1000 seats, and the main stadium will get a new track and artificial turf. The Excellence Faith Future Campaign will position Berks Catholic for growth and success long into the future The class of 2015 contained students discerning the priesthood and religious life; 97% of them have continued their education in college and collectively were offered over 10 million dollars in academic scholarships. Some of the Class of 2015 have entered the military, technical schools, and are exploring gap years involving service. Our students have grown spiritually by attending Mass as a community, performed thousands of hours of service, attended retreats and are discerning what vocation the Lord is calling them toward. We appreciate your patience in the publication of the 2014-15 Annual Report. O’Connell and Company recently completed our first full audit covering the 2014-2015 school year, and as a result we received an unqualified favorable opinion. I am convinced that your investment in Berks Catholic High School produces young men and women who will be catalysts for good wherever they live. I thank you for being a believer and a partner in our mission. Your prayers, financial support and encouragement make the success of our mission a reality. God Bless you and your family and Go Saints!

Sincerely,

Tony Balistrere Principal

8 Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends, 2015 was a special year for Berks Catholic and for our legacy schools, Holy Name and Central Catholic. The Holy Name and Central Catholic Classes of 1965 celebrated their 50th Class Reunions. All 50th Class Reunions are significant, but these two were particularly noteworthy because of their impact on the history of Catholic Education in Berks County. In 1965 Holy Name was built, and students from Central Catholic were divided geographically between the two schools. Students from Reading Catholic continued their education at the new Holy Name. Fifty years later, as Holy Name and Central celebrated their class reunions, the Berks Catholic Class of 2015 became the first class to attend all four years at Berks Catholic. Catholic Education was growing and thriving in 1965, and fifty years later is growing and thriving again. As we record the successes of another school year, I am both humbled and grateful for the support of our alumni, parents and friends of Berks Catholic that continue to make our growth in enrollment and contributions possible.

With the 2016/2017 school year on the horizon, we will have well over 800 Saints walking the halls of Berks Catholic. And thanks to your continued support, we are successfully forwarding our mission and continuing to meet goals in fundraising and development.

As we strive to meet the needs of our surging enrollment, we have developed a Strategic Plan, which can be found on our website. As part of the Strategic Plan, we have embarked on the Excellence Faith Future Capital Campaign, through which we have received pledges and gifts totaling $5 Million. As we work toward our goal of $9 Million, I thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration to support this important campaign, which will create more space for our growing stu - dent body.

And, as always, thank you for your continued support, your prayers, contributions of time, talent and treasure, and for all that you do to help continue the traditions of Catholic secondary education in Berks County. Together we are making a difference in the lives of many Saints.

With much gratitude,

Betsy Gibney Woytovich Director of Development

1 11 For starters, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Marina Morales, and I am a senior at Berks Catholic High School. I am excited to say that after many meetings with the very helpful Mr. Ditsky, our College Counselor, I have decided that I will be at - tending Penn State University Park in the fall. As I am nearing the very end of my high school career, I have come to realize just how great these past four years have been, and I would like to take the time to thank those who have helped me get to this point. From my freshman year up until now, I have continued to grow as a person through the help of my teachers and fellow class - mates. The small, close-knit feel of our school has provided me with a sense of family. I can honestly say that I leave my family at home in the morning, only to be connected with my second family here at school. The relationships I have established here are ones that I know will continue for many years to come. Attending Berks Catholic has opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me. I have been able to expand my horizons by participating in many different clubs and activities, which have ultimately led me to meet a variety of people within our school. I have enjoyed not only the social portion of my time here at Berks Catholic, but also the academic curriculum that is pro - vided to the students. The work that is given to us is challenging and strenuous, which requires us to be determined and focused at all times; however, if a student finds that he or she is having a Marina Morales, Class of 2016 hard time, the teachers are always willing to go the extra mile to help us. They, along with Berks Catholic as a whole, want us to succeed and will do anything to make sure that we will. For me, it is this extra push that has fully prepared me for the next level in college. It is because of all of these things that I can genuinely say that I love my school. I have always taken pride in the fact that I am Saint, and I always will be. I would not have wanted to spend the past four years anywhere else. To all the donors who have made it possible for me to receive the best education possible here at Berks Catholic, I thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

29 Extravaganza was held on Thursday and Friday, October 9 and 10, 2014, at Berks Catholic High School. This annual two-day event is our biggest social fundraiser that both celebrates and advances the mission of Berks Catholic High School. We began on Thursday evening with Preview Night where parents, alumni and friends bid on silent auction items and the homeroom basket auction. On Friday evening, the dinner and live auction was held, which included hors d’oeuvres, open bar, silent and live auctions, raffle drawing, music and entertainment. The co-chairs were Bill & Betsy Finneran, Rich & Lynnie Gregor, Terry & Rhonda Hanley, Mike & Kim Kolakowski, and Chris Mancuso. Congratulation s to our honorees, John R. and Maryanne Post and Sophie McDevitt, who were honored for their many years of support and dedication to Catholic Education in Berks County. Extravaganza 2014 was a great success and raised over $240,000, including $84,750 toward the Emotional Appeal, and $10,000 for a future capital project from the John R. Post Charitable Family Foundation. The Emotional Appeal monies were used toward a multimedia digital upgrade to the auditorium as well as 21st Century technology upgrades throughout the school. All monies raised at Extravaganza go directly back into the school. Extravaganza provides a great opportunity for members of our school community to come together to cele - brate the mission and vision of Berks Catholic.
