Highlights of the Class of 2008-2009 The data for this report were collected through internet and e-mail surveys and follow-up telephone calls. Staff from the office of Career Services surveyed alumni who received undergraduate degrees from UMD between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009. This report is based on responses from 1467 graduates (87% of the reported 1680 undergraduate students granted degrees during the time frame). Of the 1467 respondents, 1309 (89%) reported “employed” or “continuing education,” 1034 (70%) reported “employed,” 275 (19%) reported “continuing education.” Of the 1034 employed, 1027 (99%) responded to a question about the relevance of their jobs to their majors, with 808 (78%) reporting employment “related” or “somewhat related” to major, 554 (54%) reported employment “related” to major, 254 (25%) reported employment “somewhat related” to major. Of the 1034 employed, 1008 indicated a location and, of those, 799 (79%) reported accepting employment in Minnesota.     TO: Interested Parties RE: Elk River Landfill Expansion – Draft Environmental Impact Statement The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on a proposal by Elk River Landfill, Inc. (ERL) to construct a horizontal landfill expansion at its existing site in the city of Elk River, Sherburne County. The Draft EIS is being distributed for public comment pursuant to Minn. R. 4410.2600, and will be on public notice until December 1, 2005. During that period, any person may provide comments on the Draft EIS to the MPCA. The MPCA will conduct a public informational meeting on this Draft EIS. The public meeting will take place at the Uppertown Conference Room, 13065 Orono Parkway, Elk River, Minnesota, on Tuesday, November 15, 2005, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Any person may appear and present comments during this meeting.
