TAX TALK SFBRHS is required to advise you that effective January 1,1994, the IRS issued regulations concerning certain charitable contributions. These changes involve the substantiation of both donations to the Auction and purchases at the Auction. This information is provided to assist you in your tax planning. As with any tax or financial matter, we strongly recommend that you consult your regular tax advisor. Tickets to the SFBRHS Dinner Auction are NOT tax deductible. The $10,000 Raffle Tickets are NOT tax deductible. The Tuition Raffle Tickets are NOT tax deductible. The tax deductible amount of purchase Auction items is the difference between the price paid at the Auction and the fair market value of the goods and/or service provided. A good-faith estimate of the item’s fair market value will be listed on the bid sheet. It may be difficult to establish the fair market value of one-of-a-kind items, such as works of art, autographed sports memorabilia or similarly unique items. In these cases, as with any tax situation, the establishment of fair market value for tax purposes should be done in consultation with your tax advisor.

RAFFLE WITHHOLDING You may be required to withhold 25% of gambling winnings for federal income tax. This is referred to as regular gambling withholding and applies to winnings for more than $5000. As with any tax or financial matter, we strongly recommend that you consult your regular tax advisor regarding current laws. CHANTELL (MARQUART) ‘93 & KEN UNNERSTALL ‘90 2019 AUCTION CHAIRS

Many talented people have put forth a tremendous amount of effort to get the clubhouse, fairways, and greens ready for tonight!! Please take a moment to acknowledge the committee chairs listed in this publication. The committees are staffed by a team of dedicated people who make sure this event is successful. A special thanks to Doug Weber and Andy Unerstall who have transformed the gym into Augusta National Clubhouse. Thanks to Michelle Hoerstkamp for printing the beautiful views out the windows! Many thanks to Bill and Lauren Fogarty for bringing all the sights and sounds for tonight’s event. We are especially grateful for all the donors who have provided unique items and wonderful experiences, for without them this event would not be possible.

The entire Advancement Office takes center stage this time of year with their commitment to this event. A special thanks to Bridget Callahan, Donna Grahl, and Moira Vossbrink. We’d also like to thank last year’s chairs, Tim and Jill Poepsel, for letting us caddy for them last year.
