"As I recall, during my first season as a pro, I managed to make more cuts, however, I finished at the bottom of the leaderboard."

in a tournament is not just about making the cut. If you just make the cut, how do you make a living? You should be in the Top 10 - Top 5. As I recall, during my first season as a pro, I managed to make more cuts, however, I finished at the bottom of the leaderboard. That's not good either because I got nothing. Therefore, I don't think about the cutline anymore. We only set a goal for how to get World Ranking Points in each tournament.

To maintain your game throughout an event, what do you do? I have to manage my expectations. The only expectation that I have is playing under-par and also staying patient.

Staying patient? I often make bogeys or make bad shots on one or two holes. This sometimes makes me upset or angry and that affects the next hole. If I just play relaxed, I can bounce back because I know my game is pretty good. So, what's important in my game is mental. I must be more focused and also play patiently.

What can you tell us about life on this tour? Sometimes people say it must be fun: playing golf and traveling everywhere. However, the thing they don’t know is that we could travel for three to four weeks. The Indonesian junior managed to snatch the title in the 54-hole Eagle Crest Junior Championship on June 25-27. Opening the first round with a score of 68 (4-under par), Alfred continued consistently by posting 69 and 71 in the last two rounds. A total of 208 (8-under) placed him at the top of the leaderboard, while Yusaku Hosono of Japan, who was a leader in the first round, wasn’t able to defend his top position. He dropped away from the top in the second round with an even-par 72 and failed, by one shot, to catch Albert in the third round. “When I had two strokes lead, I knew it was a chance for me to win it. There’s a lot of pressure because I played against Yusaku. He’s a really good player, hitting the ball 50 yards farther than me. He is also very accurate. To be able to hang in there and win by one stroke, it means a lot to me,” Alfred said, as quoted by the AJGA. “Just to bring this kind of mentality and this good feeling that I have right now, this confidence is into the next tournament. And I hope I can actually bring this kind of game into that tournament,” added the 17-year- old who made one eagle, 12 birdies and six bogeys. Alfred was not the only Indonesian to engrave a great result. Kentaro Nanayama also put in a top performance, finishing T2 in the event. Shooting 69 (3-under) in the last two rounds moved the 16-year-old Indonesian to second place, tying with Yusaku, Isaac Buerger, and Luke Sample. wenty-eight years ago, Burhan Bora became the first Indonesian T player to win the Saujana Amateur Championship. Now, Naraajie has raised the red and white flag once again after almost three decades. The No. 1 Indonesian amateur didn’t just claim the trophy, he did it in style with a wire-to-wire victory in the 32nd edition of the event. After an opening round of 2-under, 70, he followed up with an impressive 6-under for 66. Under the pressure of the final round, Naraajie managed to close on 3-over, 75. “I felt the pressure too but I stuck to my strategy and let others do the work. I’m glad it worked out,” said Naraajie, as quoted by ParGolf. A tournament total of 5-under gave Naraajie a five-shot win over ’s Dylan Gardner, ’s Taichi Kho, and Malaysia’s Muhd Afif Mohd Fath and secured him his first international title. “There’s not much preparation for Malaysia. After fasting and Eid holidays, I just more focused on cardio because in Malaysia I would play in two consecutive weeks. The weather in Malaysia was also hot,” he explained. After finishing third at the 117th Malaysian Amateur Open a week before, Naraajie felt confident that he could perform well at Saujana. “I wanted to win,” he said. “My game for three days was great. On the first day, I was still tired because I hadn't had time to rest. However, on the second day, I was able to fire, saving several stroke leads for the third day. The third day, I decided to play safe.” Naraajie's impressive game eliminated the chance of victory for his competitors, including last week's Malaysian Amateur Championship winner Lawry Flynn of Australia who was attempting to carve out back-to-back titles.
