This handbook sets out the statutory basis and framework for initial teacher education (ITE) inspections in England from September 2015. Inspectors focused on the overall effectiveness of the ITE partnership in securing high-quality outcomes for trainees. The first cohort of trainees completed their training in 2017/18. In 2018/19, the partnership included 11 primary schools, two special schools, one all-through school and seven secondary schools, across three local authority areas. Trainees work towards the award of qualified teacher status (QTS). Trainees have the option of working towards a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) which is accredited by Sheffield Hallam University.

    Our ref: 0980/19 I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act on Tuesday February 12th 2019 to ask for the following information about knife possession offences broken down by age, gender and year. (I am most interested in people under 18 carrying knives). Please provide the following information: 1. The number of knife / bladed instrument possession offences for a) 2014 b) 2015 c) 2016 d) 2017 e) 2018 f) please provide a breakdown by gender. 2. For the same time period and giving the figures for each year - how many of those offenders were under 18? Please include: a) the exact age for each person under 18. b) the gender of each person under 18. c) whether the offender was caught carrying a knife or bladed object on school / educational premises? If possible, please provide the name of the school / establishment. d) A breakdown by sentence / punishment – i.e. people cautioned, reprimanded or convicted. My report is focusing on the number of women under 18 caught carrying knifes. So the gender breakdown is really important, as are the exact ages for those caught who are under 18. If including convictions is an over cost response – then omit those from your response and proceed with this amended request. Please see the attached tables which contain the requested information. West Yorkshire Police are committed to prosecuting anyone found to be possessing or using a knife or firearm. The work of our partners and community based projects is important, as is the vigilance of families who believe one of their relatives may carry weapons.

I’m very lucky to have had lots of contact with people through my role, but I am still missing ‘normal’ school life and I can’t wait to be able to see everyone properly again. Although I’ve been busy working, I have been trying to keep myself mentally and physically on form. I’ve been on lots of dog walks (sometimes the cat comes too, which is very amusing), taken part in some charity events and have discovered I’m quite good at virtual quizzes.     Mathematics: made to measure Messages from inspection evidence This report is based predominantly on evidence from inspections of mathematics between January 2008 and July 2011 in maintained schools in England. Inspectors visited 160 primary and 160 secondary schools and observed more than 470 primary and 1,200 secondary mathematics lessons. The report is also informed by good practice visits to 11 primary schools, one secondary school and two sixth-form colleges, but the evidence from these visits is not included in the proportions quoted in the report. The report draws attention to serious inequalities in pupils’ experiences and achievements. It includes examples of best practice that help avoid or overcome the inequalities and weaker practice that exacerbates them. This report builds on the inspection findings and case studies of ‘prime practice’ and ‘weaker factors’ of the 2008 report, Mathematics: understanding the score. It is also informed by the evidence underpinning the report Good practice in primary mathematics, which was published in 2011.
