Good starting points to the national park: Åkrafjordtunet, Sundal, Jondal, Odda and Rosendal. Kartleggingsnotat 2, 2017 – Botanikkdagene Sunnhordland 2017 1 av 20 Sammendrag Rapporten beskriver funn som ble gjort på Botanikkdagene i Sunnhorland 7.-11. juni 2017. 386 karplanter ble funnet. Blant dem var 15 rødlistede og 22 svartlistede. I tillegg ble 29 mose-, 23 lav- og 7 sopparter registrert. Emneord: artsregistrering, karplanter, Bømlo, Stord, Hordaland Innledning Annethvert år arrangerer Norsk Botanisk Forening Botanikkdagene for at interesserte fra hele landet kan ble kjent med floraen i et nytt området. I 2017 ble arrangementet lagt til Sunnhordland, og Sunnhordland Botaniske Forening var arrangør. Her er det et oseanisk klima og en del kalkrike områder med mange sjeldne arter. Karplanter ble viet størst oppmerksomhet på ekskursjonene, men noen moser, lav og sopp ble også vist fram til deltakerne og notert ned. Ca 40 personer deltok på Botanikkdagene, og alle var med i kartleggingen. Deltakerne ble delt i tre grupper som hver for seg registrerte arter. Asbjørn Erdal, Odd Winge, Torunn Øwre og Sigrun V. Nilsen var sekretærer for gruppene. I tillegg har Bård Haugsrud, Solveig Vatne Gustavsen og Ove Førland deltatt aktivt i registreringen. De observerte artene er lagt inn i Artsobservasjoner. Bilde 1.     HORDALAND I TAL Nr. 1 - 2018 Folketal og demografi 2 Føreord Hordaland i tal nr. 1 2018 presenterer folketalsutviklinga i fylket og på regions- og kommunenivå. I dette nummeret tek vi og eit blikk nordover til Sogn og Fjordane som saman med Hordaland skal inngå i Vestland fylkeskommune frå 1. januar 2020. Frå 2017 til 2018 auka folketalet i Hordaland med 0,5 % som er den lågaste veksten sidan 1998. Hordaland er ikkje ein isolert del av Europa og av verda, men blir påverka av internasjonale konjunkturar, av krigar og sosial uro og nød i andre delar av verda som driv menneske på flukt. Dette påverkar folketalsut- viklinga i Hordaland. Innvandring har bidrege positivt til folketalsutviklinga i alle kommunar i Hordaland og Sogn og Fjordane sidan 2013 og statistikken viser at mange kommunar er heilt avhengig av nye innbyggjarar frå utlandet. For kommunane med befolkningsnedgang har innvandringa bremsa reduksjonen i folketalet. I 2017 fekk vi ein kraftig reduksjon i innvandringa til Hordaland. Samstundes ser vi at det kjem stadig færre innvandrar frå Europa, som har dominert innvandringsstraumen til Hordaland dei seinare åra. Dette heng saman med auken i arbeidsløyse i Noreg og i nokre høve ein betre økonomisk situasjon i dei landa dei har kome frå. Polakkar er likevel framleis den klårt største innvandrargruppa i Noreg. Saman med rekordlåg netto innanlandsk flytting og lågt fødselsoverskot, har dette ført til den låge folkeveksten vi no har hatt siste året i Hordaland.     NORSK GEOLOGISK TIDSSKRIFT 37 CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE TRONDHEIM AND SUNNHORDLAND REGIONS, CALEDONIDES OF NORWAY BY IvAR HERNEs The traditional view put forward in Norwegian geological discus­ sions has been to draw the links between the Trondheim region and the co astal area south of Bergen over the J otunheim region. On the other hand an essential difference has been claimed to exist between the Trondheim region and the J otunheim region. In actual fact there are a number of circumstances which show that the connection between the Trondheim region and Sunnhordland does not run via the J otunheim region, but via the Devonian synclinal area of Vestlandet. On this view the Caledonian mountain range forms a great are pushing into Central Norway, having its convex side towards the southeast and to southward passing over into an are with its concave side to the southeast. Such an arcuate mountain chain would provide an explanation of the complex folding systems that we encounter in the chain. In the following paragraphs I shall discuss featurcs which throw light on the relationship between such an arcuate mountain range and the geology of Norway. The Trondheim Region and Vestlandet. Tn. VoGT, in his important studies on the structure of the Caledo­ nides, pointed out the existence of a direct connection between the Trondheim region and the Devonian synclinal area of Vestlandet (1928, 1954 a, 1954 b, 1954 c). The westsouthwesterly fold system which links these two areas together occupies a prominent place in Vogt's tectonic analysis. An important feature is the syncline which he traces between the Dombås area of the Trondheim region and the Dcvonian 248 IVAR HERXES rocks of Hornclen.
