No Substitutes to the catalogue. 4) All dogs will be shown working on the day only. No guarantee will be given regarding the dogs ability to work or to give equal performance for the new owner. Purchasers will make their bids on the basis of performance of each dog as demonstrated at the point of sale. All dogs are sold on a non returnable basis. 5) Vendors giving eye test warranties must lodge authenticated registration certificates with the Auctioneers at time of the sale. 6) Bitches MUST be clear of pup unless stated to the contrary. Complaints by the purchaser after the sale must be accompanied by a veterinary certificate clearly demonstrating that the animal was in pup at the time of sale. 7) Unsoundness – Unless stated to the contrary in the catalogue or at the time of sale, dogs are warranted by the vendor to be free from any unsoundness in respect of teeth, legs and feet (on sale day warranty). In all other respect except in the case of bitches proving to be in whelp the warranty allows 5 days post sale for registration of complaint and 5 days thereafter for supply of veterinary surgeons certificate by the purchaser. Veterinary surgeon’s certificates must verify that the dog was carrying the unsoundness at the time of sale. This condition also applies to castrated dogs, spayed bitches and dogs with one testicle or any other known breeding defect. Purchasers satisfying these requirements will be entitled to return the animal with reimbursement together with associated expenses. 8) If the vendor disputes the purchaser’s claim for breach warranty, the claim shall be referred for decision to the auctioneers or to such other person as the auctioneers may appoint for the purpose, (in either case the “referee”). The referee, who shall act as an independent expert and not as an arbitrator, shall make such examination or trial of the animal and such inquiry of such persons as in his sole discretion he considers necessary or desirable for determining the dispute. 9) Castrated dogs, spayed bitches, and dogs with one testicle or any other known breeding defect must be declared by the vendor at the time of sale. 10) Vendors must not pass over dogs to purchasers without prior authority of the Auctioneers. 11) In the case of registered dogs, vendors must present the registration certificate and signed transfer form to the Auctioneers before their dog is offered for sale. This is a requirement of the International Sheepdog Society and if not carried out would result in the dog being classed as non registered. SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR NSA SALES 1) No pups to be traded from vehicles within the showground. 2) All dogs are to be kept on a proper lead when not working. 3) Vendors to bring a few kgs of food that can go back with the dog so any diet change isn’t too abrupt. 4) Seller and buyer to discuss the vaccination and wormer regime. 5) A self declaration that sellers and buyers are legally allowed to keep a dog (ie they have not got any legal cruelty actions against them) 6) Purchased dogs cannot go onto the central part of the showground – they should either go straight to the purchaser’s vehicle or be held by the vendor until the end of the show. 7) Compulsory micro-chipping of dogs from April 2016. All vendors must present their dogs at the sale office before the commencement of sale, where the dogs microchip will be read. PREFACE F all the works which have been written relating to the general or family history O of North Wales, none have been for centuries more esteemed than the History of the Gwydir Family. The Hon. Daines Barrington, in his preface to his first edition of the work, published in 1770, has well said, "The MS. hath, for above.a cent~ry, been so prized in North Wales, that many in those parts have thought it worth while to make fair and complete transcripts of it." Of these transcripts the earliest known to exist is one in the Library at Brogyntyn. It was probably written within 45 years of the death of the author; but besides that, it contains a great number of notes and additions of nearly the same date, which have never yet appeared in print. The History of the Gwydir Family has been thrice published. The first editiun, edited by the Hon. Daines Barrington, issued from the press in 1770. The second was published in Mr.

I am sincerely grateful to the efforts of everyone who has helped contribute to the making of this Plan which is so important for the future of Powys. Importantly, the Plan sets out a clear and strong strategy for meeting the future needs of the county’s communities over the next decade. By focussing development on our market towns and largest villages, it provides the direction and certainty to support investment and enable economic opportunities to be seized, to grow and support viable service centres and for housing development to accommodate our growing and changing household needs. At the same time the Plan provides the protection for our outstanding and important natural, built and cultural environments that make Powys such an attractive and special place in which to live, work, visit and enjoy. Our efforts along with all our partners must now shift to delivering the Plan for the benefit of our communities. Councillor Martin Weale Portfolio Holder for Economy and Planning

NORTH WEST WALES DENDROCHRONOLOGY PROJECT DATING OLD WELSH HOUSES - Caernarfonshire TŶ MAWR (formerly The Castle Inn) 2 and 4 Castle Street, Cricieth, Gwynedd (formerly Caernarfonshire) Parish: Cricieth Grid Reference: SH 5004 3785 © Crown copyright: Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales: Dating Old Welsh Houses: North West Wales Dendrochronology Project HOUSE DETAILS: Tŷ Mawr is a substantial house of Snowdonian type presenting several features of mid/later sixteenth century date including voussoir-headed openings, and two tiers of cusped windbraces. The timber is unusually well dressed with the removal of all sapwood. The principal chamber has a hooded fireplace and open archbraced truss. Published account in RCAHMW’s Inventory, Caernarvonshire, Volume II: Central (1960), pp. 62-3, no. 873, with an additional survey commissioned by the NWWDP available in NMRW (NPRN 32) (Richard Suggett, RCAHMW). Cantref: Dunoding Commote: Eifionydd (Atlas of Caernarvonshire pp 69-71). Dendrochronology results: Felling date range: After 1527. Lower purlin 1516; Beam (0/1). Site Master 1431-1516 gwyg2 (t = 7.1 SKERHS2; 6.1 CEFNCAR1; 6.0 CROWLE2) (Oxford Dendrochronology Laboratory [ODL]). The removal of the sapwood precludes the determination of an exact date: at least eleven rings are missing. SUMMARY: Tŷ Mawr may be of greatest significance as one of very few sites in Wales definitely associated with an early modern practitioner of medicine: it was also known as ‘Tu William feddig’, the house of William the Doctor. Little is known of this man, but it is likely that he practised in the late sixteenth-early seventeenth century. It is not known whether Tŷ Mawr was built for him, or occupied by him later.

NORTH WEST WALES DENDROCHRONOLOGY PROJECT DATING OLD WELSH HOUSES - Caernarfonshire TŶ MAWR (formerly The Castle Inn) 2 and 4 Castle Street, Cricieth, Gwynedd (formerly Caernarfonshire) Parish: Cricieth Grid Reference: SH 5004 3785 © Crown copyright: Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales: Dating Old Welsh Houses: North West Wales Dendrochronology Project HOUSE DETAILS: Tŷ Mawr is a substantial house of Snowdonian type presenting several features of mid/later sixteenth-century date including voussoir-headed openings, and two tiers of cusped windbraces.
