Concentration strategic planning Personnel Personnel Personnel 6 | Flad Architects Flad Architects | 7 Workplace Transformation The workplace environment is an extension of a company’s business plan, supporting all aspects of a facility “life cycle,” from strategic planning through design, construction, occupancy, and facility management. A strength of our planning group is our ability to design flexible, technologically advanced, and versatile facilities for our clients. We address such issues as staff interaction, process flow, flexibility, utility and energy requirements, and future growth. At the center of these efforts is the need to recognize the ways in which collaborative work, increased communication, and the speed of delivery is essential to organizational success.

The integration of these new influences in the workplace have had a profound affect on the office environment. Starting with a de-emphasis on status and hierarchy, the workplace has increasingly moved in the direction of shared access to privacy and confidentiality, rather than individual allocation. The range of space and quality has balanced across the office in ways that express egalitarian assignments and access to resources. The emergence of technologies have transformed the nature of place and the ability to work from anywhere, and the integration of thinking and work processes requires communications and interactions at levels that are unprecedented.

It is very important to understand the evolving nature of the workplace and the ways in which it will continue to shift throughout the life of the facility. Flexibility, mobility, and a variety of options for working have become the tools of an effective workplace. workplace 8 | Flad Architects Flad Architects | 9 FLAD PROJECT LOCATIONS
