Winning Chili Cook Off Recipe- both versions

I will give you both versions of the CHILI recipe.

First Recipe is the original recipe……the 2nd has the same but I reformed the recipe….so hence the recipe from me is called the REFORMA Yakety Yak Ranch Chili I ordered the CHILI powders off the internet…only 2 are available here in the Mexican store on Prince ave.

ORIGINAL Yakety Yak Ranch Chili Ingredients: 3 # cubed beef trip tip 2 14oz beef broth 1 8oz can of tomato sauce 4 of - pressed 1 TBSP Tabasco sauce 1 jalapeno pepper…..pierced with a fork several times 1 can dark red kidney beans as desired

1st SPICES:

1 TBSP powder 1 TBSP 1/2 tsp MEXICAN ground 1/4 tsp ground bay leaves powder 1 TBSP Hernandez Farm medium New Mexico 1 TBSP plain 1 TBSP Penderys Fort Worth Light Chili powder 1/2 TBSP New Mexico hot chili powder 1/2 TBSP Mild Bill’s Cadillac Cowgirl chili blend 2 tsp chicken granules 2 tsp beef granules 1 TBSP ground

2nd SPICES:

1 TBSP ground Cumin 2 Packets Sazon Goya 1/4 tsp brown sugar 1 TBSP garlic powder 1/4 tsp white pepper 1 TBSP Hernandez Farm medium New Mexico chili powder 1 TBSP paprika 1/2 TBSP Penderys Fort Worth light chili powder 1/2 TBSP Mild Bill’s Cadillac Cowgirl chili blend

INSTRUCTIONS: Brown meat, drain and rinse and then add 2 cans of beef broth, can of tomato sauce, 1 tbsp Tabasco, pressed garlic & 1st Mix…….Pierce a jalopena pepper & float in sauce Simmer for 2 1/2 hours & then remove jalapeno, squeezing it into the sauce to give it a little more heat. Add the 2nd and simmer for another 1/2 hour & then serve it up.

Mary Jane’s recipe as served at the Chili cookoff JANUARY 29, 2016 REFORMA YAKETY YAK RANCH CHILI 6 # beef trip tip from Costco do not cube 1 1/2 containers 32 oz container size……….of SWANSON low sodium beef broth 2 80z cans of tomato sauce 8 cloves garlic pressed 1 Tbsp Tobasco sauce 1 jalapeno pepper pierced w/fork several times

1 st SPICES SAME AS ABOVE IN original recipe 2nd SPICES SAME AS ABOVE IN original recipe

INSTRUCTIONS:

GRILL WHOLE BEEF ROAST on the grill till grilled well on both sides. Let meat set on plate for 30 minutes or so to cool. Then slice & cube meat in small bite size pieces.

SIMMER meat first set of spices & top ingredients in a pan with the lid off for 2 1/2 hours Then add 2nd set of spices & LOw SIMMER for another 1/2 hour or till meat is tender w/ lid on. SERVE it up with DHOPPED CILANTRO & SOUR CREAM….. No grated cheese.

SERVE WITH CORN TORTILLA WHOLE CHIPS FROM THE MEXICAN STORE.
