News From Around the Globe

THANK Y OU FROM THE OLD GLOBE

Dear Globe Guilders,

Happy 2014 from the Globe! We are happy to say that the New Year brought in two excellent casts preparing for their upcoming productions, each different and utterly compelling in its own right. Globe audiences will be introduced to young playwright Laura Marks’ Bethany, which tells the story of a mother who is striving to get her life back on track; meanwhile, Barry will direct Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale, bringing the Bard’s work back indoors for the first time in over a decade.

There are a number of ways to enhance your experience with the productions you see at the Globe, and we hope that you will join us for a number of the many seminars, forums and discussion panels that our Artistic and Education Depart- ments offer, most of which are complimentary. These options include Insights Seminars the Monday evening before each production opens, Post-Show Fo- rums following select performances, and our new Subject Matters series, as well as various topical panel discussions. All of these dates are on our website, and we invite you to join us to explore each work in depth.

Enjoy the remainder of our San Diego “winter,” and we’ll see you at the show!

Sincerely yours,

Barry Edelstein Michael G. Murphy Artistic Director Managing Director
