TO COPY LEADERSHIP SUMMARY Dear Saint Joe Family and Friends, What a year this has been! Who could have foreseen the many changes we would face in our community and across the world when the 2019-20 academic year commenced last August? As we launched the year with the theme Reach Higher, we had no idea how much reaching would be required. The unanticipated challenges that we have faced collectively have required uncommon flexibility and resilience. Last spring, as the coronavirus pandemic approached the Midwest and instruction moved online, our teachers, students, and community rose to the challenge. By all accounts, our students and teachers pivoted beautifully to the new reality of extended eLearning. Faculty rallied together to share tools, tips, and guidance on emerging technologies, demonstrating that learning is a lifelong process. The successful transition was aided by the fact that every Saint Joseph High School student receives a school-issued laptop and that we provided mobile hotspots to students who lacked reliable internet access at home. Not only did we preserve our tradition of academic excellence and high OUR MISSION standards, we did it with equity so that all students remained engaged and connected. Saint Joseph High School Of course, the pandemic affected more than our schools. The economic downturn caused many of our families is a Catholic secondary school to experience a loss of income. -
