V závislosti na dostupnosti literárních a internetových zdrojů zpracovává historii žánru od jeho vzniku až do roku 2020, spolu s tvorbou a úspěchy jihokorejských umělců. Součástí práce je i zpracování dvou dotazníků. Jeden zpracovává názor české veřejnosti na k-pop, druhý byl mířený na českou k-pop komunitu a její myšlenky ohledně tohoto žánru.     Jeremy Chang-ling Hsu Modular Geometric Organism: The Amoebic Movement in K-Pop Performance Abstract In this article I consider K-Pop music videos a newly contagious amoeba to explore how K-Pop performance moves us and how its amoebic body moves in and out of the screen. Using research drawn from Posthumanism, I argue that technics opens up the border of human body through programmability, promoting the cyborgian assemblage that suggests the mobility of technics and the technicity of human bodies. In particular, I focus on the choreography of K-Pop, which I argue is a modular geometric organism that consists of human prosthesis and shares the same quality of the amoebic movement, in order to suggest that this contagious media is able to extend its pseudopods to engulf viewers while listening, watching, and recreating the performance. Due to the immersiveness of K-Pop performance videos, their amoebic movement is perceived more easily, and reshapes the relationship between the viewers and the videos, creating a new organism in their digital circulation. Por meio de uma observação espontânea dos efeitos desse fenômeno, pretende-se compreender de que forma esse gênero musical, construído dentro do ideal de uma sociedade espetacularizada, se apoiou na imagem de seus artistas para conquistar destaque para além das fronteiras sul-coreanas. Além disso, busca-se relacionar o impacto das evoluções tecnológicas na indústria da música, em especial do cenário de propagabilidade proporcionado por ferramentas como o YouTube, como um dos principais difusores do k-pop. Through a spontaneous observation of the effects of this phenomenon, the article intends to understand how this musical genre, built within the ideal of a spectacularized society, based on the image of its artists to gain prominence beyond the South Korean frontiers.     November 7, 2007 Zombies and Fragile Lovers Dumb Dumb Bunny is Operatic Butoh on a Music Video Set By QUINN BATSON Sam Kim's evening-length "Dumb Dumb Bunny" gives us an impressively dismal world of zombies and missed connections that veers from music video to butoh. Sometimes it's excruciating to watch and sometimes it's really entertaining, which lends the whole piece a feeling of suspense and anticipation. Throw in really good contact duets, scary scaffolding as a set and excellent music choices mixed with silence, and there is more than enough to digest and enjoy. Kim uses the raw and vertical space of The Kitchen well, with a set that looks like one from 1980s music videos. Bare-bulb lightstrips that can be individually blinked and dimmed give the lighting bombast and power or smoky darkness. Zombies, a la Michael Jackson's "Thriller", kick the night off with campy humor and set the stage for creepiness and death. The core of the evening is the strangely conflicted duet of Michael Helland and Miriam Wolf that eventually plays off the more peaceful duo of Kim and Liz Santoro, almost a juxtaposition of the struggle between men and women and the easy if tenuous compatibility between women. Before arriving at those duos, though, "dumb dumb bunny" goes through huge mood swings of manic club dancing and catatonic post-disaster scenarios. Characters magically appear from gloamy light though there is no space to hide on stage, a nice trick of lighting and choreography that November 7, 2007 reminds us how easy it is for an unobtrusive or retiring creature to get lost and ignored in a crowd, the "bunny" of the title who may or may not adapt to the noisy crowded environment and may or may not survive.

Lev Manovich May 2016 This is the third part from my new book being published online (Lev Manovich, Instagram and Contemporary Image, 2016-). It continues the analysis of Instagram’s “designed photos” from Part 2 of the book. I am grateful to Danabelle Ignes for pointing out to me the global influence of Kinfolk and its effect on Instagram aesthetics. Ashleigh Cassemere-Stanfield noted the similarities between many Instagram photos and certain categories in stock photography on 500px such as still-life and food. Zizi Li, the 2016 summer intern with Software Studies Initiative, have created a list of Instagram users from Asian countries with strong visual design, and I have used this list for examples. My graduate research assistant (and author of many publications in the history of photography) Alise Tifentale has proofread this and other chapters of the book. 1 How do we characterize a style in general? And, in particular, the contemporary aesthetic that was born in early 2010s and can be seen today in numerous Instagram photos? And are there any differences today between commercial and personal photography even when they feature the same subjects and the same attitude? Can a style be defined through a list of features, or is it a larger gestalt that cannot be simply detected by finding images that have some of these features?
