Led by D.J. Davis’ fi ve dimes, the Hounds totaled 18 assists on 28 makes.

Aside from their exceptional ball movement, the Hounds’ biggest factor was their ability to get to the charity stripe. UIndy sank 20 of 24 free throws, the sec- ond-most attempts taken in a game so far this season. Of their 85 total points, 56 came either in the paint or at the free throw line.

Hall’s 18 points led all scorers, as the freshman southpaw hit 8 of 9 freebies and added four rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Davidson followed closely with 17, knocking down a trio of 3-pointers and all four free throw attempts. Fellow junior Etherington was a factor on both ends of the court, fi nishing with four boards, three assists and two steals to accompany his 12 points.

“It was a must-win for us,” Assistant Coach Bryson Davis-Johnson told WICR afterward. “Coach (Stan Gouard’s) message to the team has been ‘the season’s not over’, the season is just getting started, but this was must-win. Looking ahead we’ve got to get three (wins the rest of the month), but you can’t get three without getting one, so now we have to go to Florida and take care of business.”

UIndy will head south to meet two members of the Sunshine State Conference, facing Nova Southeastern Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET, and Barry Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. ###
