[email protected] Nestled within rural splendour in a secluded private position between the historic harbour village of Boscastle and legendry Tintagel is Trebonny, a gorgeous and uniquely styled two bedroom detached barn conversion of real quality. The location offers far reaching rural views of the surrounding countryside and beautiful country walks via the nearby public footpaths and bridleways. The famed and quite stunning St Nectans Glen Waterfall is within easy reach of the property. The current vendor conceived, designed and converted this former piggery in 2009 and set about creating a beautiful, welcoming, private haven set amongst rolling countryside just moments from the coast. The barn has an abundance of distinctive and attractive attributes that include vaulted ceilings with A frame oak trusses, bespoke double glazed oak windows and external doors, Karndean flooring, exposed stonework, a beautiful handmade kitchen and wetroom shower room. The building itself is constructed of natural stone with granite lintels and quoins, slate sills and slate roof. Internally, the living accommodation is of open plan design. An oak stable door takes you into a small reception vestibule prior to the open kitchen, sitting room and dining room. The kitchen has a handmade range of floor and wall cabinets and drawers and features granite worktops with contrasting tiled splashbacks and a double ceramic Belfast sink, mixer tap and pull down spray. Integral are an eye level De Dietrich oven and grill and four ring gas hob. Space and plumbing is available for a slimline dishwasher and tall fridge/freezer. With the vaulted and beamed ceiling and Velux windows above, the room flows through to the living space which is arranged around a cast iron wood burning stove with exposed flu and raised granite shelf. Two lots of oak French doors open onto a private patio and allow for a huge amount of natural light to flood the room. There is ample space for sofas, dining table and occasional furniture. Head down the hallway where a large mezzanine area above provides a very useful storage space. The first bedroom, the smaller of the two, has an exposed stone wall and single beam above. The room has a front facing window and built in wardrobe. The main bedroom, a generous double, has an A frame vaulted ceiling with oak trusses, exposed stone wall, handmade built in wardrobe space and oak French doors to the outside. Within the room is a cleverly designed en-suite wetroom shower complete with WC and wash hand basin. Between the bedrooms is a very stylish wetroom shower room with thermostatic shower, floating WC with hidden cistern and unique ceramic sink. Attractive tiling, oak lintel, slate sill and a heated towel rail complete the look. At the far end of the dwelling is a utility room, providing space and the necessary plumbing for white goods and where the ground source heat pump is located. Upon arrival, double electric gates with chunky oak posts open to reveal Trebonny. A large area of graveled driveway provides ample parking space with a timber framed carport with slate roof and wood shed to one side. The formal gardens are mainly laid to lawn, interspersed with some small shrubs and trees and bordered by dry stone walling. The aforementioned sitting room French doors open onto a very private patio of granite paving with cobbled sets adjacent to a large hot tub which is included in the sale. There is also a large timber outbuilding which has several separate areas of garden room, workshop and storage area. Beyond here is a small greenhouse and composting area. Services to the property include mains electricity, private bore hole water supply, private drainage and a ground source underfloor heating system. We at Jackie Stanley highly recommend an internal viewing to fully appreciate the quality of the conversion and wonderfully private rural location. Trevalga is a sleepy hamlet situated between Boscastle and Tintagel on the North coast of Cornwall. The Elizabethan harbour village of Boscastle is well known all over the world. This historic harbour area is a highly sought after and respected residential coastal village along the rugged North Cornwall coastline attracting many thousands of visitors all the year round. The village offers a wide range of local amenities including a variety of independent shops, hotels and pubs well known for their excellent catering and warm hospitality. Other facilities include infant and primary and schools, a doctors surgery and a petrol station. The village of Tintagel only a few miles away, famed for its links with the legendary King Arthur, and whose reputed castle and grounds still remain, offers a similar range of daily and seasonal village amenities. Within easy motoring distance is Launceston, Rock, Padstow, Wadebridge and the well known coastal resort of Bude with its dramatic heritage coastline. The North Coast offers a wide variety of everyday amenities and leisure facilities as well as a choice of infant, junior and comprehensive schools, 18 hole golf courses, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, leisure and sports complex with adjacent bowling arena, surfing, horse riding, bowls, squash and tennis courts. Popular sandy beaches and the stunning rugged coastline all add to the appeal of this sought after North Cornish coastal area. To find Trebonny, follow the A39 from Wadebridge signposted to Bude. Follow this lane for approximately half a mile and then bear right at the sign for Tredole Trekking riding stables. Continue for another quarter of a mile and the entrance to Trebonny can be found along on the right hand side beside a public footpath sign. The postcode for satellite navigation is PL35 0ED. • I Would Like to Dedicate This Book To
The Newsletter of the Camelford and Week St. Mary Circuit 12/20 Bethel, Boscastle, Bossiney, Brockhill, Camelford, Delabole, Living Water, Maxworthy, Rehoboth, St. Breward, St. Teath, St. Tudy, Tintagel, Tremail, Tresparrett, Treveighan, Week St. Mary 1 February! It's an odd month - still dark and often cold and wet. All the fun and warmth of Christmas seems far behind us and the summer is a far distant dream. And yet the signs of spring are all around us - snowdrops push up brave spears along the banks; primroses nestle shyly among the leaves and the dancing heads of golden daffodils are a bright reminder that spring is almost here. Have you ever thought that the story of the Church is a little like the circling seasons? There are periods of life and light and growth and there are times of darkness and decline. The same pattern can be seen throughout Biblical history. The people of Israel listened to God and obeyed Him and prospered and fell away from their Covenant commitment and everything fell apart around them. Even in the history of Methodism we see the pattern repeated. Wesley's work began at a time when the church had lost any real relevance to the mass of people in this country and Wesley and his friends broke with several centuries of Church tradition to take the Gospel out of the churches to the people who needed to hear it. He didn't pull any punches and called people to change their lives around. Membership of the Methodist Church meant real commitment, regular attendance at worship, a change in lifestyle, active membership of a Methodist class and a prayer band meeting.

  • Bible Christian Chapels in Cornwall 1901 Compiled by Colin C Short 2016
Bible Christian Chapels in Cornwall 1901 Compiled by Colin C Short 2016 The following tables list 97% (the figure is explained below) of the Bible Christian Chapels and Preaching Places in Cornwall and the Devon border Circuits in 1901. The Devon Circuits are included to cover cross-border chapels and are listed in their entirety, for completeness. The source of the Chapel names is the Cash Account returns listed in the Annual Report of the Bible Christian Home and Foreign Missionary Society for the year ending July 1901 pp18-32. This lists all the Chapels and Preaching Places by District and then by Circuit. The Bible Christians were extremely fond of naming their Chapels with Biblical names, not all of which appear in the Cash Account. The number of Chapels and Preaching Places in each Circuit is tabulated in the annual Minutes of Conference for 1901, pp19-20. Here those numbers are indicated as « c & p », where c is the number of Chapels and p the number of Preaching Places. Occasionally the number of names found does not equal c+p and that is indicated in the tables below as « [One missing] » which appears for every missing name in a Circuit. There are only 8 such entries in all the Circuits listed, hence the 97% statistic. Not all the discrepancies are due to a missing Preaching Place. In one case, one more name is given than c+p. There are two lists. The first is by Circuit name within each Bible Christian District, as it occurs in the Cash Account.
