The purpose of the individualized, self-paced course is to provide the student with a general knowledge of the principles of fuels and the function, opercAtion, and maintenance of components utilized in fuel systems. The course is suggested for use as a subunit in an engine repair or design course. Five lessons cover these topics: introduction to fuels and fuel systems, fuel system components, carburetor circuits, gasoline fuel-injection systems, and multifue1 systems. Study texts for each lesson contain objectives, study assignment text material, review exercises, and answers to the exercises. A special section entitled "Fuel Injection" is also included. A course examination is included, but no answers are provided.
