As we move towards a vibrant and unified Catholic community here in Hamden, creating a name for our new parish is an exciting and important step in the process. We are looking for your help in providing suggestions for names that will embody the vision, passion and spiritual devotion of our combined parish. When thinking of a name, the following are a few guidelines and recommendations: It cannot be a name that is already in use in the Archdiocese of Hartford (We have provided a list below with the names that are already or have been in use throughout the diocese.) The name of a Saint is encouraged. (A Saint who has been more recently canonized is preferable.) Recommended that the Saint represents the Universal Church that might have ties to our community, or devo- tion that is strong in this area. It can be a doctrine of the Church like “Holy Trinity” or a title of Mary, Mother of Jesus. It can be territorial (such as including “Hamden” in the name). Please complete the form below and drop in it the collection basket or send it to your parish office no later than Mon- day August 9th. The Transition Team will review the suggestions at their August 16th meeting and make a selection to present to the Archbishop.
