The seeds were collected mainly in Tibet, Pamir, Alai, Tien Shan, Yunnan, Kamchatka, Sechuan, Kunlun, Karakoram, Sakhalin, Patagonia, Turkey and others. Selected pictures are in my photogallery http://holubec.wbs.cz/ . There is a lot of items that were regenerated in the garden. They are as valuable as the natural collections and can be collected exactly when become ripe. These species proved to be growable in rock gardens in Central Europe. Those items are clearly marked with ex. Some items come from other collectors: Jiri Papousek (JP), Zdenek Obrdlik (ZO) and Jaro Horacek (JH). The plants were determined according to Floras, in case of the recent collections Fl. China, Fl Tajikistan, Fl Kyrgyzstan, Key to the vascular plants of Kamchatka. Some plants were not seen in flowers and therefore it is not possible to guarantee all determination. From previous expeditions there are still available many good items. All seeds are marked with a collecting year. Older ones were stored in refrigerator and they keep a good germination ability (some of them germinate even better the second year). Several abbreviations were used in descriptions: pl- plant, lv, lvs-leaves, fl, fls-flowers, infl-inflorescence. Please, order by both numbers and names to avoid mistakes. Seeds from another locality will be sent when the ordered item is gone.

I wish you all the best in the New Gardening Year and private life and I truly hope that you all will be satisfied with my bulbs this year as always. It is 20th Anniversary for my Export catalogue. I started with small list of 20 items in 1990. Now I could offer 900 names, but my catalogue isn’t from rubber, the same is with packing shed, so I was forced hardly check my offers and I striped out in the list item after item up to 597 names left. So if you very want something special offered in earlier years or even never before offered - you can ask and although I can’t promise but I will try to fulfil your wishes. Last year was not easy for me. In August, when I packed my orders, I thought that I would be happy if I would edit this one, Jubilee catalogue and it will be my last. Now I’m much more optimistic and I hope for more years ahead. May be in future I will make home-page and will print only modest list without pictures, but will see… In garden season was not easy, too. Again rodents shortened my collection for 12 of my tulip hybrids, 180 sq.

But our nursery does not stop its activities. My stepdaughter Līga will overtake the business part of my activities and her name is to be seen at the header of this catalogue. The content of the catalogue is still written by me and we will work together the whole season, but in the future the activities will be split. The collection will remain under my supervision – there are at present more than 5000 samples, but Līga will work with the business part – the large stocks, seedlings, etc. This will allow me to put all my time and effort into identification of the stocks still grown under the epithet ‘species’, pollination, notes and, of course, writing. I will collect seeds from my pot-grown stocks and give them to Līga to do the rest. Līga showed keen interest in plants while helping her mother in her perennial nursery, where she is responsible for the Paeonia collection. This winter she finishes the horticultural college and from 2014 will be in charge of the small bulb growing for business. Of course, we will work side by side and my experience and advice will always be at her disposal. When I made the list of plants for this season, it came close to 800 items, what, of course, was far too many for the processing capacity of my bulb dispatching shed.

Abduraimov1, Sultankul A. Daniyarov2 Gulistan State University, Gulistan, Uzbekistan Abstract: The research was carried in 2018-2019 years in Tarkapchigai botanical-geographical region. The article explores the representatives of the Liliaceae and Iridacea families, which are scattered in the in Tarkapchigai botanical-geographical region. It is known that Central Asia is the center of origin of geophytes (monocotyledon). During the study, from the Liliaceae family in this area Tulipa L. (6 species), Gagea Salisb. (12 species), Fritillaria L. (1 species) and from the Iridaceae family Crocus L. (1 species), Iris L. (7 species), Gladiolus L. (1 species) of were recorded. Keywords: Flora, Liliaceae, Iridaceae, monocotyledon, Tarkapchigai botanical-geographical region 1. Introduction differences between different areas in the profile of the altitude zone and the nature of the vegetation cover. At present, when studying flora, it is important to study them Tarkapchigai region includes the West Gissar ridge, located by dividing them into certain botanical regions. To date, South of Guzar and Dekhkanabad, on the left side Kichik there are several not quite consistent schemes of division of Uradari and in the basin of the river Tarkapchigai Central Asia into phytochorions, which demonstrate (mountains Ellikbash, Sakirtau and etc.). • Kurt Vickery Monocot Seed List July 2011
Kurt Vickery Monocot seed list July 2011 Welcome to the 2011 main seed list Producing a seed list on a regular basis, I can now sympathise with the farmers, there always seems like there is something to complain about!, I was supposed to be co‐leading a tour to Syria in April, but with just a few days to go the foreign office advised against travelling there. With some very good work by Ian Green we were able to change flights and instead went just over the border in Turkey, I was very disappointed to say the least that we weren’t able to visit Syria, but Turkey delivered some very memorable moments, we were very lucky to see huge colonies of Iris sari and sprengeri amongst many other treasures. Of course My heart goes out to the innocent victims of the troubles in Syria, and hope that the opportunity to visit will come up again one day. Back home we were having a major heatwave, Abi did an excellent job of collecting Crocus seeds, but had strict instructions not to water (I would probably have given just a drop here and there if I had known). Ian Young in his excellent bulblog, said that he had never known bulbs ‘go back’ so early, me too!, I really don’t think some bulbs coped very well with it, and my Fritillary harvest was definitely affected quite badly Anyway, we did manage to come up with a few items, some of which I hope will be of interest. Special thanks are due to Peter Bird and Filip Seys for donating some really good wild material All seeds are from hand pollinated and /or isolated plants unless otherwise stated w/c means wild collected o.p.
