Each tunnel would integrate with tunnel stubs constructed underground as part of the proposed M4 East at the Wattle Street interchange and proposed New M5. • A new road interchange at Rozelle at the disused Rozelle Rail Yard, to provide connections to and from the M4-M5 Link with City West Link, Victoria Road and the Anzac Bridge intersection. • Tunnel stubs to allow for a potential future connection to the Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link (an additional Sydney Harbour Tunnel road crossing) in the vicinity of the Rozelle interchange.

The EIS admits that air pollutants will exceed permitted levels along the Canal Rd used to access the St Peters Interchange because the traffic will be heavier. This is an unacceptable impact which will adversely affect vehicle users because it is known that people in their vehicles are not protected from the air pollution, as well as anyone on foot or cycling in the streets around the interchange. No amelioration is offered. 2. The EIS states that traffic congestion around the St Peters Interchange is expected to be worse after completion of the M5 and the M4-M5 Link particularly in the evening peak hour. The EIS admits that this will have a "moderate negative" impact on the neighbourhood in increasing pollution (also admitted separately) therefore in health impacts, on safety for foot and cycle traffic but also for vehicles and on the local amenity. 3. The traffic around St Peters expected to be heavier because of the increased road access to the new Interchange will adversely affect our community because moving around to our parks and to the shops, to the buses and to the train stations, for pedestrians and cars, will be more difficult.
