1 The Beautiful Lady of my dream 2 A Danda Swami’s Tribute conveyed to the author by Swami Mangalananda Giri Something interesting happened that you will appreciate. An 84-year-old Danda Swami is staying at the ashram during the rains. He speaks very good English and frequently comes to my room. He asked for any book about Ma, and I told him to browse my “library” which now extends the full length of one wall. Without any prompting from me, he went directly to your book “In Her Perfect Love”, and I gladly lent it to him. After a day he came back and was literally raving about the book. He said, ‘If I sold everything in the world, it would not pay the price of this book. I’ve been mad for this book since I started it - reading it day and night.’ I told him I communicated with you and would pass on his enthusiasm. • Analysis of Cultural Landscape for Sustainable Tourism Development of Kanpur Region
Analysis of Cultural Landscape for Sustainable Tourism Development of Kanpur Region Ratnesh Shukla 1 & Kashif Imdad2 Abstract Kanpur city was well known as the “Manchester of the East” and is also known as a growing commercial and trade centre as well as an educational hub of Uttar Pradesh at present. The present paper is an attempt to explore the cultural heritage of an industrial town Kanpur and to ascertain probability of tourism development. To analyzed cultural landscape for sustainable tourism development of Kanpur region is particular objective of the present paper. The image of Kanpur projected today is a highly polluted and highly crowed city, a metropolitan that has almost lost all its beauty, leisure and glorious history. The Intensity of distracting factors of the city is the most effective than attracting factors of the city. The present study is based on field survey of culturally renowned sites of Kanpur city. Multistage random sampling technique was used for selecting 80 tourists from various tourists’ places of Kanpur region for determining attracting and distracting factors of the tourism of Kanpur region and secondary data was also used. When one enters the city, unbearable smell of leather and other industries welcomes. Unorganized slums and deplorable condition of Ganga speaks of its plight but it is not all. The poor road surface quality, dust and dirt speak volumes. It is challenging task for policy makers and town planners to establish Kanpur as a tourist centre which can come at par with cities like Agra, Varanasi etc, and attract maximum foreign and Indian tourists.

Through this handbook we give you an orientation to various aspects of life at IIT Kanpur. We take you through our annual academic calendar, signpost the important events, and provide necessary information. Some of the academic and administrative duties follow a definite timeline and there are others that are applicable throughout the year. This handbook aims to keep you updated and vigorous but, along with this document, your other life-line would be to ‘ask a colleague’ since the guidelines-rules in place need to be deciphered and interpreted. First, we will work our way around an academic almanac. Let us assume that you have joined in the month of December. The classes begin late December or early January when it is cool and pleasant. We start our almanac from the month of January January Your first task would be to teach, say, an undergraduate course.
