These three studies, on the cellular communications, aircraft, and computer industries, are part of a series begun in 1990 at the request of the Finance Committee. In response to the request of June 11, 1992, the Commission instituted investigation No. 332-332, Global Competitiveness of Advanced-Technology Manufacturing Industries: Large Civil Aircraft, on September 2, 1992. The Committee noted that the global competitiveness of key U.S. industries continues to be of concern and interest to the U.S. Congress, and requested that the Commission study include factors found relevant to the global competitiveness of the industry, including, but not limited to: (1) government policies; (2) regulatory and trade impediments; (3) research and development financing and expenditures; (4) issues of competition in civil aircraft from the Airbus consortium; and (5) the proposed acquisition of U.S. aerospace technologies and manufacturers by foreign interests. Copies of the notice of investigation were posted at the Office of the Secretary, U.S. International Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20436, and the notice was published in the Federal Register (vol. 57, No. 178) on September 14, 1992.2 Public hearings were held in conjunction with this investigation on April 15, 1993.3 The sources consulted in the preparation of this report include domestic and foreign manufacturers, industry associations, airline officials, research establishment officials, and appropriate government officials. Questionnaires were completed by purchasers based in the top three global markets. Testimony at the public hearing and written submissions provided pertinent information on competition in the large civil aircraft (LCA) industry. After the accident, the Government of Nepal constituted an Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission on 12th March 2018, as per the provision of the Civil Aviation (Accident Investigation) Regulation, 2014 (2071 BS), to determine the cause and the circumstances of the accident. The Commission conducted the investigation based on the principles of ICAO Annex 13. This Final Report on the accident has been prepared by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Commission in accordance with Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation and Civil Aviation (Accident Investigation) Regulation, 2014 (2071 BS) to identify the probable cause of the accident and suggest remedial measures so as to prevent the recurrence of such accidents in future. The commission was also assisted by Accredited Representative Capt Salahuddin M Rahmatullah from Bangladesh, as a state of operator and Registration and Nora Valle from Canada, as a state of Design and Manufacturer.

The destination criteria are reviewed and selected by the questionnaires distributed to group of aviation experts. The expert opinion is the primary source of data on this research that is also validated with secondary data. AHP is implemented for generation of pairwise matrix of criteria with respect to criteria and alternative with respect to alternative. The Comparative result obtained from pairwise matrix gives the rank of the best destination between the currently operated destinations of Nepal Airlines Corporation. The research has identified Delhi is the top of the best destination based on all the criteria or variables. Delhi has best passenger traffic, marketing approach, profitability that shows Delhi should have more scheduled flights or Delhi destination has to set on higher priorities for destination planning. Delhi destination is followed by Kuala Lumpur and then by Doha, Bangkok and Hong Kong respectively. This destination priority can provide the planning framework for destination planning while implementation it can generate more market share and profit for Nepal Airlines Corporation.

    PART 1 The Proton in the East COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL 1 Vladimir Chelomey: From the V1 to Proton Vladimir Nikolayevich Chelomey was born on June 17, 1914 (Julian calendar), or June 30, 1914 (Gregorian calendar) into a family of teachers in Sedletz (Poland). He spent his childhood in Poltava and then moved to Kiev in 1926. At 18 years of age, he finished his studies at the Technicum Automobile of Kiev (Ukraine) and entered the Institut PromEnergetik, studying the internal combustion engine. But the young Vladimir was interested in the then emerging field of aviation. He was accepted into the aerospace faculty at the Kiev Polytechnic Institute (since renamed the National Aerospace University). During his first year, while studying, he also worked as a technician in the subsidiary of the Institute of Civil Aviation. Figure 1.1. Vladimir Chelomey (source: rights reserved) In 1936, while still a student, he published a paper on vector analysis and taught vibration theory to engineers working at the Zaporozhye aircraft engine factory. This production facility, no. 29 (now Motor Sich), had the manufacturing license for French engines Gnome and Rhône at the time.
