R1 R2 R3 R4 R5 We are comprised of passionate local residents and canal enthusiasts, working L in partnership with the Canal and River Trust, and hold monthly events to clean A N N up, beautify and maintain spaces along the canals, publicise their history and A A L L C encourage people to use and enjoy them. It is a dynamic document that highlights existing DE S H L A H C A natural features but also visionary aspects; as such, it will change as elements C O D R10 R12 R13 R14 O R11 are implemented. We will look to it as a ‘vision’ rather than a ‘plan’ as it is meant R H R to inspire and give ideas rather than be a list of definite things that will happen. C O It is split into three sections: the Ashton Canal, the Rochdale Canal and the New R Islington Marina. Each section has an abbreviated descriptive table to give basic information about an existing or visionary feature. Detailed descriptions and larger R15 M1 M2 M3 M4 images for each site number can easily be downloaded from our website. Feel free to let us know if you have ideas for a particular site; it might become our next project! so take your time, relax and have a nice meander exploring nature M5 M6 M7 M7 M8 along the waterways in ancoats.
