Another fabulous year for Yayasan WWRC for hosting the 7th Annual Charity Golf tournament, held at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Shah Alam, on 30th Aug 2019. In conjunction with this event, a dinner & auction program was held at a different venue at SJK (C) Chung Hua Kota Kemuning assembly hall. This year, we have 2 VIPs attended this event. They are YB Teresa Kok, Minister of Primary Industries and YB Tony Pua, political secretary to the Minister of Finance. The CEO of WWRC Malaysia Mr Teoh Weng Chai at his opening speech thanked everyone from our business partners, suppliers, customers, friends and staff of WWRC in making this event a tremendous success. YB Tony Pua has shared some views on Malaysia economic. He urged Malaysia businessman to grab the opportunities to work with China investor as many factories has started to move out of China as a result of the US-China trade war. In the same time, the Ministry of Finance has launched initiatives to attract FDI and many of them are US companies that have been approved in 1-half 2019. Malaysia need to continue to build capacity so that we can be benefited when the global economic recover. Before ending his speech, he thanked WWRC for the continuous effort in organizing charity golf for seven years consecutively. YB Teresa Kok in her speech thanked to the donors who continued to support charity despite the challenging economic. YB has given special thanks to the sponsor who gave free red palm oil to all attendees during the dinner. Her Ministry is working around the clock to promote Malaysia palm oil which is scientifically proven better for healthy and environment. In addition, WWRC business partners from Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam donated generously during the auction event. Malaysia's Godfather of Stand-Up comedy, Mr Harith Iskander, has given a thunderous performance and helped to auction some items. Representatives from various beneficiaries were invited on stage to receive mocked cheques. They are: Tzu Chi International School KL RM300,000 SJK (C) Chung Hua Kota Kemuning RM250,000 Liberty to Learn Berhad KL RM50,000 House of Love PJ RM50,000 Hope Worldwide Malaysia RM50,000 SJK (C) Chung Huah Kampar RM30,000 WWRC has raised approximately One Million Ringgit from the charity golf and dinner. It was indeed a successful event and the night ended with everyone ushering into celebration of Merdeka Day. Happy 62th Anniversary Malaysia! .
