Having a safe, secure and comfortable shelter is one of the long-term desires of every human being, but this need is also related to other human needs. On the other hand, today this reality is added to other realities that every phenomenon at any moment is a manifestation of the constant analysis and combination of variables that have regular, continuous, and multiplicative correlations; therefore, in investigating the phenomenon of housing, what is important is the relation and influence of its various aspects. The purpose of this study was to investigate the regional indexes affecting housing in Ilam province using TOPSIS technique. The research method is descriptive-analytical and development-applied, and GIS, GRAFER and EXCEL software have been used. The results of the study showed that the density index in the residential unit in the Ilam province between 1996 and 2006, except in 1997 and 1998, has slightly increased, the trend has improved since 1999and has approached the ideal . The average number of households in the residential unit showed that the construction of residential units in the province had been increasing but could not fully compensate for housing shortages. In contrast, the average household in the residential unit in the province had an upward trend. Finally, the TOPSIS model showed that CL was the highest and lowest in the following areas Ilam (0.99), Dehloran (0.13), Ivan (0.09), Mehran (0.08), Abdanan (0.05), Darreshahr (0.04) and Shirvan (0.00). These include Pseudocerastes persicus, P. fieldi, and P. urarachnoides. Morphologically, the taxonomic border between P. fieldi and P. persicus is not as clear as that between P. urarachnoides and P. persicus or P. fieldi. Regarding the weak diagnostic characters differentiating P. fieldi from P. persicus and very robust characters separating P. urarachnoides from both, there may arise some uncertainty in the exact taxonomic status of P. urarachnoides and whether it should remain at the current specific level or be elevated to a distinct genus.

Using this method, work units were considered as the main unit of desertification and a map was generated for each index according to assigned weights, such that the qualitative map of the desired criteria were obtained using the geometric mean of indicators. Then, through integration and determining the geometric mean of layers obtained from criteria and finally classification of the obtained maps, map of the current status of desertification in the studied area was prepared. The obtained results indicated that 31.67% of the area was in the medium class of desertification (II) and 68.33% belonged to the intense class (III).

Dinarvand, Y and Mehranpour, H 2015 Paleolithic Open-air Sites, North of Ancient Asia Susiana Plain in South West Iran, Khuzestan Province, East of Dez River. Ancient Asia, 6: 6, pp. 1-4, DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5334/aa.12325 SHORT REPORT Paleolithic Open-air Sites, North of Susiana Plain in South West Iran, Khuzestan Province, East of Dez River Yusef Dinarvand* and Hadi Mehranpour† Khuzestan province bears most of cultural periods since ten thousand years ago (the Holocene). This period relates to Khuzestan plain but up to now, little work has been done on the Pre-Holocene periods and there is no information of the Paleolithic hunter-gatheres groups all around this plain. Due to perma- nent and abundant rivers such as Dez and Karkheh, the rich flora and fauna around them and also abundant raw materials for making tools, made the north and northeastern heights of Khuzestan very favorable environments for the presence of Pleistocene hominin groups. Introduction The age of this formation is that of Pleistocene. The Pre-Holocene time period in Khuzestan Plain has not been Formation of Aghajary, which located in the study area given its due attention and there is no information about at the upstream of formation, includes Miocene-Pliocene the Stone Age human groups around this Plain. North deposits with periodic deposits of brown to gray calcare- and North East Highlands of Khuzestan province has been ous sand, red gypsum-bearing marl and siltstone. However, very favorable environment for Stone Age hunter groups the Bakhtyari conglomerate in Dezful region includes because of the high rainfall and perennial rivers such well-rounded fragments in the size of megalith and rubble as the Karkheh and Dez, rich flora and fauna, as well as and is the result of Zagros rocks’ erosion through different plenty of raw materials for making stone tools.
