The Product Effect: Do Designed Products Convey Their Characteristics To Their Owners? Raja Ahmad Azmeer Raja Ahmad Effendi Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements of the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy Faculty of Design Swinburne University of Technology 2011 ABSTRACT ABSTRACT Malaysia is unique within the Islamic world in developing a motor car industry that is geared towards both internal and export markets. After achieving initial success, its export performance has failed to match that of its international competitors. Factors that are suspected to contribute to this failure is in the technology and styling of its models. Moreover, with the implementation of AFTA (Asean Free Trade Area) in Malaysia, the car industry is expected to face the influx of inexpensive established brands from ASEAN countries which will gradually dominate the local market. The research was cross-cultural and tested for possible differences based on nationality and gender. It used qualitative and quantitative techniques consisting of a Car Positioning Task using Semantic Differential scales and a derivation of the Room Effect method in order to investigate the perception of cars and its effect upon the perception of its owner. The pilot and actual surveys using Room Effect method were carried out with international participants. The results indicated that it is reliable and can be used to reveal cultural and gender differences. CORE Metadata, citation and similar papers at core.ac.uk Provided by Klaipeda University Open Journal Systems SAKTI HENDRA PRAMUDYA ONLINE TRANSPORTATION PRICE WAR: INDONESIAN STYLE ONLINE TRANSPORTATION PRICE WAR: INDONESIAN STYLE Sakti Hendra Pramudya1 Universitas Bina Nusantara (Indonesia), University of Pécs (Hungary) ABStrAct thanks to the brilliant innovation of the expanding online transportation companies, the Indonesian people are able to obtain an affor- dable means of transportation. this three major ride-sharing companies (Go-Jek, Grab, and Uber) provide services which not only limited to transportation service but also providing services for food delivery, courier service, and even shopping assistance by utili- zing gigantic armada of motorbikes and cars which owned by their ‘driver partners’. these companies are competing to gain market share by implementing the same strategy which is offering the lowest price. this paper would discuss the Indonesian online trans- portation price war by using price comparison analysis between three companies. the analysis revealed that Uber was the winner of the price war, however, their ‘lowest price strategy’ would lead to their downfall not only in Indonesia but in all of South East Asia. Please break this down to include the make and model of the car caught speeding and also by any one detection method. For example – a Toyota Yaris was caught speeding at 71mph in a 60mph zone in November 2017 Within your constabulary, in this time period, what is the most common car make and model caught speeding? The highest speed recorded was a BMW 330D AC AUTO travelling at 141 mph, captured by a mobile camera unit in October 2017. Vehicle makes and models are not retained in the system for notices we are unable to process, so we do not have a definitive list of all types. Also, vehicles are recorded in the camera system including all model varieties. It isn’t possible to consolidate all these simply into one model group. I have attached a full list for you to analyse. Among them, ridesharing has received substantial attention from decision makers around the world. Because of the multitude of currently understood or potentially unknown risks associated with ridesharing (unemployment, information privacy, environmental risk due to increased emissions, liability), governments in different countries have adopted diverse strategies in coping with risks associated with ridesharing. In some countries or municipalities, ridesharing is prohibited. In other countries, ridesharing, however, received strong support from governments. In this article, we address the question how are risks involved in ridesharing governed over time. To answer this question, we present a single in-depth case on Singapore and examine how the Singaporean government has addressed risks in ridesharing over time. This case study about Singapore can be regarded as a revelatory case study, helping us to further explore the governance practices in other countries. -

Internet technology turns out to be a media to simplify anyone's work. Along with its developments and the service industry revolutions, a new breakthrough has emerged, namely smartphone app-based ride-hailing services. This eliminates the problems existing in conventional services, such as the difficulty of finding rates, uncertain rates and passenger safety guarantee. This study aims to describe the fraud committed by the Grab drivers and its impact for the drivers and Grab, and how to overcome it. This study uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The object of this research is Grab drivers in Malang. The data used are primary and secondary data obtained through interviews, Application screenshots, and news items. The results of this study indicate that there are some frauds committed by Grab drivers such as (1) fictitious orders, (2) account sales, (3) account leases. To anticipate it, Grab has initiated a program namely "Grab Lawan Opik". One of Grabs internal controls is the selfie verification used to reduce account sales and leases. To solve the problem, Microsoft stocked Windows 7 with a virtual moving van called Windows Easy Transfer. Windows Easy Transfer grabs not only your old computer’s data but also settings from some of your programs: your browser’s list of favorite Web sites, for example. Not everybody needs Windows Easy Transfer. If you’re upgrading a Windows Vista PC to Windows 7, for example, Windows 7 keeps your files and most settings in place. Windows Vista upgraders don’t need the transfer program — or this chapter.
