LADIES BOWLS

Barbara Leddin Challenge. It is playing in Section 3 against sides from Commercial, Culcairn, Lavington and Walla Walla. At the end of February, our Club was leading in this Section. Section 3 of the Challenge concludes on 30th April, when four sides play Round 10 at the Howlong Golf and Bowls Resort.

Court No2. Court No2 is progressing well and has a good grass covering except for smaller areas which had not taken – but thanks to Paul Irvine and his staff this has been rectified by the laying of turf over the bare patches. This court has been top dressed as well and we should soon see further grass growth to cover the complete court area. With watering and the continuing warm weather further grass growth will be evident.

Wodonga Croquet Club During January and February members from Wodonga played at Howlong with 6 Wodonga members playing on 16th January and 10 Wodonga members playing on 10th February. I thank all members for their participation and it was great to see our courts being utilised to the full.

Many Howlong golfers played in the field of 21 teams in the first MDGA Open Day at Corowa on Sunday 1st March.

The team of Ned Gray, Paul Baker, Stuart Gray and Steven Smith came runner-up. Darren Prentice, Fergus Cochrane, Harrison Just and Damien Shanahan took out first place with a score of 117 Stableford points.
