Through our activities we promote discipline, leadership and patriotism among the cadets and students. To develop leadership and character qualities, mould discipline and nurture social integration and cohesion through multi-faceted programmes conducted in a military environment. * To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation. ANNUAL REPORT 3 *To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces. *To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country. ANNUAL REPORT 4 NCC REPORT 2018-19 ational Cadet Corps is one of the biggest voluntary organizations in India. It is functioning under the direct control of Ministry of Defence, India. NCC is divided in to Seventeen directorates. We belong to the N Kerala & Lakshadweep NCC Directorate. It is my privilege to place before you a brief report of the activities and achievements of 7(K) ARMY UNIT NCC, Fatima Mata national College, Kollam, for the academic year 2018-2019. This report would enable us to make a self- assessment of the achievements and drawbacks of the functioning of Army Unit NCC of our college during 2018-2019. 7(K) ARMY NCC SUB UNIT, FMN COLLEGE The 7K Army Unit NCC of Fatima Mata National College has an enrolled strength of 53 cadets. The under graduate students from different department are eligible for selection. The NCC activity of all these academic years started with the enrolment of First Year Degree students. Enrolment was held in FMN College in all these respective years. Prior to the selection process, a brief overview was given to get a general idea about Army NCC. OF COMMERCE, FATIMA MATA NATIONAL COLLEGE. RESPONSIBILITIES OF ANO ANO is responsible for the conduct of NCC activities in the institution including Saturday parades and extension activities. Should be in control of the cadets and is responsible to plan and organize training with the assistance of the Permanent Instructional (PI) staff, detailed by the NCC unit. Periodic visit to parades and Trainings. To be present on National Days along with cadets. Visit to training camps as detailed by NCC Unit. Should be responsible for all contingent bills and schedules. ANNUAL REPORT 11 ELIGIBILITY CONDITION FOR SELECTION OF ANO Should be a permanent /regular teaching staff of the Institution. No disciplinary/vigilance case is contemplated/ pending against the candidates. Both Male & Female candidates should not be below 21 years of age or above 42 years of age as on the last date for receipt of application. Should be citizen of India or Nepal. Should bear a good character. Should be medically fit. Should not be member of any communal party. Should be a member of the teaching faculty. ANNUAL REPORT 12 CAMP DETAILS OF 2018 - 19 NO. OF SL. The cadets of NCC army wing conducted several activities during the environment day like planting trees, environment awareness programme etc on 5th June 2018. ANNUAL REPORT 14 INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. The international Yoga Day was celebrated on every year June 21. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. The day was observed by conducting a Yoga class for cadets. Cadets also participated in the Mass Yoga class conducted at, Kollam Beach during every year. ANNUAL REPORT 15 GREEN CAMPUS Greening the campus is all about sweeping away wasteful inefficiencies and using conventional sources of energies for its daily power needs, correct disposal handling, purchase of environment friendly supplies and effective recycling program. These strategies need to be incorporated into the institutional planning and budgeting processes with the aim of developing a clean and green campus. As a part of it NCC army wing cadets have been participated in this process on 2nd July 2018. NCC cadets participated in the campus cleaning drive in the college. ANNUAL REPORT 16 INDEPENDENCE DAY ‘AUGUST 15’ Independence Day is annually celebrated on 15 August, as a national holiday in India commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947; the UK Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act 1947 transferring legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly. The cadets from our college participated in Independence Day Parade every year. Also, in our college, Independence Day celebrated with parade and Flag hosting ceremony. ANNUAL REPORT 17 KERALA FLOOD RELIEF NCC students of Fatima Mata National College had participated in the Kerala Flood Relief activities. Cadets had collected food materials, cash and cleaning detergents and send them to relief camps on 20th august 2018. ANNUAL REPORT 18 SWACH BHARAT MISSION Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission is a nation-wide campaign in India for the period 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India's cities, smaller towns, and rural areas. A team of NCC cadets participate in the cleaning campaign at Kollam, which was undertaken by 7(K) BN NCC, Kollam.
