Maritime Conference The United Church of Canada The 91st Annual Meeting Sackville, New Brunswick May 26-29, 2016 MINUTES OF CONFERENCE RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Ninety-First Maritime Conference Meeting 134 May 26, 2016 Sackville, NB NINETY FIRST ANNUAL MEETING OF THE MARITIME CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CANADA FIRST SESSION – THURSDAY EVENING May 26, 2016 Time and Place and Constitution of the Court: The 91st Annual Meeting of Maritime Conference, United Church of Canada, began at 6:25 p.m., on Thursday, May 26, 2016, in the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre, Sackville, New Brunswick. The meeting was called to order in the name of Jesus, the Christ, the Head of the Church, by the President, Rev. Matthew Fillier. The Christ candle was lit. Constitutional Motions: David Hewitt / Nan Corrigan moved that the constitutional motions as printed in Section 1, Reports to the Conference 2016, page 16-17, including the Conference Roll, Quorum and Bounds, agenda, adoption of minutes, and reports not requiring further action, including those in the registration package be adopted. MOTION CARRIED Reference and Counsel: David Hewitt / Steve Berube moved that Mary White and Rachel Campbell be named as Reference and Counsel for the 91st meeting of Maritime Conference 2016. MOTION CARRIED Introduction of Ecumenical Guests: The Executive Secretary introduced the ecumenical and interfaith guests, Mr. Rick Haddad, Anglican Diocese of Fredericton, Rev. Lisa Vaughn, Anglican Diocese of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Rev. Jeffrey Lackie, The Presbyterian Synod of the Atlantic Provinces, Rev. Dr. Frank Guinta Jr., Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, Rev. Charles Broderick, Moncton Archdiocese, and Rev.
