Cataluña fue ocupada por las tropas fascistas, 465.0000 refugiados huyen cruzando la frontera. Las autoridades francesas ordenan la construcción de un campamento en la playa... La película evoca la existencia del campo de concentración de Argeles sur Mer (Pirineos Orientales), desde su creación en enero de 1939 hasta su cierre en septiembre de 1941. En 1939, cineastas y activistas, conmocionados por este campo, lograron pasar de contrabando una cámara detrás de la alambrada. Las pocas imágenes tomadas directamente del campo de Argeles se filmaron con cámara oculta y muchas fueron incautadas y destruidas. “El Campo de Argeles” propone recrear estas imágenes perdidas y entremezclar la vida del campo con imágenes de archivo y testimonios recogidos en toda Europa: FELIP SOLÉ SABATÉ/Filmografía/Filmography: ex internados en el campo (los republicanos españoles, Largometrajes/Feature films: 2009: EL CAMPO DE ARGELERS. In February 1939 the history of Argeles, a quiet fishing village suddenly changed. Catalonia was occupied by the fascist troops and 465,000 refugees flooded across the border. The French authorities ordered a camp to be built on the beach…. This film recalls the existence of the concentration camp in Argeles sur Mer (Western Pyrenees), from its creation in January 1939 until its closure in September 1941. In 1939 filmmakers and activists, shaken by what they knew of this camp, managed to pass a camera through the wires. The few images of the Argeles camp taken directly were filmed with hidden cameras and many were confiscated or damaged. “The Argeles Camp” sets out to recreate these lost images and intermingle life in the camp with images from archives and first-hand accounts gathered from all over Europe: ex-inmates from the camp (Spanish republicans, Jews…) and also guards and witnesses.

Las historias de “El campo de batalla” transcurren en dos escenarios diferentes que nos desvían a otras geografías más lejanas. Por un lado el valle de Valderredible, con sus paisajes deshabitados y los campesinos cántabros que tratan de adaptarse a los nuevos tiempos. Por otro el Parc Agrari de Sant Boi de Llobregat, con sus payeses que cultivan un espacio agrario en el corazón de Catalunya industrializada. Nuestros protagonistas principales se mueven en un cruce de caminos étnico y cultural, porque la necesidad de mano de obra inmigrante remueve los cimientos de las estructuras agrícolas tradicionales.

The stories in “The battle field” take place in two different settings so

taking us to completely different geographical areas. On one hand we have the Valderredible Valley with its uninhabited landscapes and Cantabrian country people who are trying to adapt to new times. La ceremonia está prevista para dentro de una semana. A Alassane, sólo le faltan 6 meses para conseguir los papeles en España. A documentary which follows in the steps of Chus Lago, a Galician mountaineer, during her two years of preparation and training for a new challenge; to travel a distance of 1,200 kilometers between Hercules Bay in the Wedell sea and the South Pole, alone and supporting temperatures of between 50 and 80 degrees below zero. This mountaineer from Vigo, the first Spanish woman and the third in the world to reach the summit of Everest without the help of artificial oxygen, began her crossing in November of last year with the sole company of a sledge in which she carried all she needed for the expedition as well as a camera. In the middle of the arctic summer, with light twenty four hours a day and supporting storms with hurricane strength winds and fine layers of snow on ice plaques, Chus managed to reach her objective and so became the first Spanish woman to conquer the geographical South Pole.

Manila, 1959. Charismatic Jaime Gil de Biedma (30) is a director of the Philippine Tobacco Company during the day…. but at night, the poet gives free reign to his homosexuality in the nightclubs of the city’s underbelly. This is how he meets Johnny, a young man who works in an erotic cabaret. The poverty of Manila makes a deep impression on Jaime and heightens his social conscience. Back in Barcelona, the Spanish police interrogate Jaime about some of his subversive friends who are still dreaming of regime change in Spain. He visits his friend and editor Carlos Barral, and meets Juan Marsé, a young writer about to publish his first novel. At the same time as all of this, Jaime is trying to save his relationship with Luis, his lover, but the latter leaves him. Jaime’s father takes care of Jaime’s trouble with the police, but he warns his son he has to sort his life out because he is putting his family and the business in jeopardy. By the mid 1960’s, society is increasingly becoming unstable and a new generation is meeting in the Bocaccio nightclub. There, Jaime meets the sexy and enigmatic Bel (28), divorced with two kids and with whom he quickly establishes a relationship. Jaime has bought an apartment and asks Bel to marry him, but she turns him down: they are two free spirits; getting married would condemn their relationship to failure. Overwhelmed by events, Jaime loses himself in the night and gets very drunk. That same night, Bel dies in a traffic accident. When he hears the news, Jaime becomes totally desperate and tries to take his own life. But he manages to get back on his feet with the support of friends and family. However, Jaime he will never write poetry again. At the beginning of the 1970’s, Jaime goes to the Philippines and has to deal with the economic changes which the company is going through under the Marcos dictatorship. On his return, Jaime meets Toni, a young photography assistant of humble background, and they begin a sentimental relationship. Toni, for his part, insists on learning all he can from Jaime and asks him to introduce him into his sophisticated world, unknown to him. Jaime’s dad dies and events pile up on each other; the growing tension between Jaime and Toni leads to a violent confrontation in the country house which Jaime has bought as their love nest. Toni throws him out, and Jaime trips and is injured in the snow. After the death of Franco, democracy is restored in Spain and a mature Jaime lives out his days with a young stage actor. The passing of time and illness have left their mark on him. His friends, who know that Jaime is dying, organise a poetry recital in the Residencia de Estudiantes (Madrid’s famous Students Residence) which turns into a public acclamation of the poet. But Jaime only wants to say goodbye.

Carlos Lucas gets irritated when he hears people talk about “The journey to nowhere”. He knew where he was going. If not, like so many of his companions, he would have deserted a trade in which he was always in the peloton. If one victory let him climb the podium and be the centre of attention for a few minutes afterwards it was back to anonymity. Cycling among the modest cyclists, pushing forward the leader. It seems as if the important battles are only fought at the front, but here there is spiteful elbowing and cutting in. At the edges of the road faces are left behind like blurred dots. Among those who pedal along beside him some gave up through tiredness, others suffered falls, some were disqualified for foul play. But he went on pedaling after seventy two years hoping to see the finish flag. Carlos Lucas could have been a cyclist, a cosmonaut, or a bandillero but he was a secondary actor.

Lao Jia amante de los sidecar y las motos Harley ha decidido ampliar su negocio y abrir con Nils, su socio danés, un bar temático en el centro de Pekín, junto al lago de Houhai. Todas la

motos del bar se hacen en los suburbios de Pekín, en el taller mecánico dirigido por Zhang, el socio chino de Lao Jia. En este taller todos trabajan y viven como en familia. Wang Chan estudiante de diseño de ropa, mantiene un relación sentimental con Niels, holandés estudiante de chino cuyas ideas de “amor

libre” revolucionan la vida de Wang Chan. Después del verano Niels vuelve a Europa. Wang prosigue su vida entre Pekín y su ciudad natal en el norte de China y se plantea si debería o no marcharse a Europa y reunirse con Niels, discutiendo con su familia sobre todas las ventajas y desventajas de ambas

En medio de la vorágine de acontecimientos y personas que pasan, viven, trabajan o sobreviven en la ciudad de Pekín, seguimos las vidas de todos ellos durante 10 meses para evidenciar las diferentes formas de plantearse un negocio, una relación sentimental o el proceso creativo entre occidentales y chinos.

Lao Jia, a Chinese man whose favourite hobby is riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, wants to move his Beijing sidecar shop to a better location. He decides to expand his business and open a motorcycle-themed bar in downtown Beijing next to Houhai Lake with the help of his Danish partner, Nils. Zhang, the Chinese man who originally opened the sidecar shop with Lao Jia, is the leader of the workshop in the Beijing suburbs where all of the sidecars are made. Workers in this shop live together like a large family. Wang Chan, a Chinese woman who studies fashion design, falls into a romantic relationship with Niels, a Dutch man who studies the Chinese language in Beijing. Niels’ ideas of free love revolutionize the life of Wang Chan. As the summer comes to an end, Niels returns to Europe, while Wang continues her life commuting between Beijing and her hometown in Northern China. Wang must maintain her relationship with Niels through videoconferencing. Eventually, Wang starts to consider whether or not she should go to Europe and live with Niels, which includes discussing the advantages and disadvantages of both scenarios with her family. Ultimately, Wang decides to leave her life in China behind her and move to Europe. Ryan came to China three years ago, fleeing from his traditional upbringing in Alaska. Ryan lives from day to day, sleeping in an old, three meters squared nuclear bunker that has been converted into cheap underground accommodation. Foreigners are not allowed to live at the bunker, so he lives with a Chinese friend, Li Yang. Ryan soon begins to feel trapped again and want to regain his complete freedom and live on the edge, so he decides lo leave the bunker. Li Yang returns to his hometown in central China and Ryan goes to Inner Mongolia to attend some courses on a bizarre pyramid- marketing scheme that another Chinese friend of his has joined. Marcos and Qiu Rong weave the very different lives of these people into a coherent documentary, raising questions about what is most important in life, and bringing to the surface some of the limitations documentaries face when trying to capture reality on film. Amid the maelstrom of events and people that shape the city of Beijing, we follow for ten months the lives of three individuals who live in the city, revealing the ways in which the differences between Western and Chinese thinking can raise questions about business, love, and creative process.

Carlos Álvarez, un detective aferrado a su vieja gabardina y a unos anticuados códigos de comportamiento, recibe un encargo rutinario: vigilar a la mujer de un empresario. Station of the forgotten chronicles the relationship between an old sailor (Domingo) stranded away from sea and a teenager (Pau) who finds difficult to fit in society. Their paths will cross, for various reasons, at the old people’s home where Domingo now lives, and where Pau is serving a community service sentence. They find each other at a key point in their respective lives: Pau is negotiating the tricky path from adolescence to maturity, and Domingo, the equally tricky one leading from old age to death. In spite of their age difference, they will become the closest of travel companions. With the help of Pau and Domingo’s granddaughter (Clara), the old sailor will break free from the old age home in order to see the sea one last time. In this story, the main characters are forced to confront facts that will change their lives forever. Touching and compelling, Station of the forgotten encourages viewers to think about our elders, whose only fate seems to be to be forgotten. And once they’re gone, it’s sometimes too late to get them back. At the end of the journey, Domingo will be reunited with his beloved wife, Pau will finally find his place in society, and Clara will find herself again.
