Prior to joining Alinta Energy in 2014, Jim was General Manager Retail Markets at Origin where he was responsible for the growth and financial performance of the retail business servicing four million customers. This built on 20 years with AGL, where he had responsibility for retail sales and marketing, customer operations, strategic positioning and transformational change across a variety of senior roles. Jim has overseen the expansion of Alinta Energy’s retail presence from Western Australia to the east coast of Australia. He is responsible for profitably growing the retail segment, developing innovative products and ensuring exceptional customer service for Alinta Energy’s one million plus customers. He is currently advising private and Government entities on commercial implementation of renewable and storage initiatives to in Australia. Peter had held a number of Board positions in the sector and recently led the market entry of a major Australian company into utility scale solar in Chile’s Atacama Desert, whilst assessing geothermal, hydro and LNG opportunities in that country. Prior to this he was Chief Executive Officer of an international energy development company and had responsibility for a portfolio of 3000MW of operating generation in the National Electricity Market. Before entering the energy sector Peter was a Vice President with Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust and commenced his career as an officer in the Royal Australian Navy.
