Galskab pulserer igennem USA 8. marts 2016 (Leder fra LaRouchePAC) – Præsident Obama holdt i mandags et møde i Det Hvide Hus for at fejre Dodd/Frank- lovens succesfulde forhindring af et nyt kollaps, som det i 2008. Eneste problem er, at hele det transatlantiske finanssystem er i frit fald, suget ned af værdiløs spillegæld til en ’værdi’ af omtrent 2 billiarder dollar, og som Dodd- Frank intet har gjort for at forhindre – men tværtimod har fremmet. De vestlige økonomier står og vipper på randen, mens befolkningerne bliver ødelagt af den værste narkoepidemi i Vestens historie, og af selvmord, der begås af desperate, midaldrende, arbejdsløse arbejdere. I mellemtiden gør Obama og hans kontrollers i London alt, hvad der står i deres magt, for at bringe den eneste del af verden, der fungerer – Rusland og Kina – til fald. Øverst på deres »dødsliste« står BRIKS, der repræsenterer podekrystallen til et nyt verdensparadigme, baseret på udvikling, rumforskning og »win-win«-samarbejde nationerne imellem, som Xi Jinping beskriver det. Den kinesiske udenrigsminister Wang Yi sagde i dag: »Bæltet-og-vejen er et projekt, som Kina lancerede, men mulighederne tilhører hele verden.« Men Wang Yi måtte også advare USA om, at USA’s indsats for at »forplumre vandene« ved at anstifte konflikt i Korea og i det Sydkinesiske Hav kunne »støde Asien ud i kaos«, og at Kina i så tilfælde ikke kunne se passivt til. I Europa fortsætter NATO-ledere med at deployere større og større militære styrker op til den russiske grænse, som forberedelse til krig. Alligevel har Putin flankeret dette krigsfremstød ved at intervenere i Syrien og knuse Obamas støtteapparat for terroristernes netværk, og ved at danne en arbejdende militær og politisk relation med de fornuftige elementer i det amerikanske militær for at gennemføre en våbenstilstand og tilintetgøre ISIS og al-Nusra. -
China's Dual Circulation Economy
THE SHRINKING MARGINS FOR DEBATE OCTOBER 2020 Introduction François Godement This issue of China Trends started with a question. What policy issues are still debated in today’s PRC media? Our able editor looked into diff erent directions for critical voices, and as a result, the issue covers three diff erent topics. The “dual circulation economy” leads to an important but abstruse discussion on the balance between China’s outward-oriented economy and its domestic, more indigenous components and policies. Innovation, today’s buzzword in China, generates many discussions around the obstacles to reaching the country’s ambitious goals in terms of technological breakthroughs and industrial and scientifi c applications. But the third theme is political, and about the life of the Communist Party: two-faced individuals or factions. Perhaps very tellingly, it contains a massive warning against doubting or privately minimizing the offi cial dogma and norms of behavior: “two-faced individuals” now have to face the rise of campaigns, slogans and direct accusations that target them as such. In itself, the rise of this broad type of accusation demonstrates the limits and the dangers of any debate that can be interpreted as a questioning of the Party line, of the Centre, and of its core – China’s paramount leader (领袖) Xi Jinping. The balance matters: between surviving policy debates on economic governance issues and what is becoming an all-out attack that targets hidden Western political dissent, doubts or non-compliance beyond any explicit form of debate. Both the pre-1949 CCP and Maoist China had so-called “line debates” which science has seen this often turned into “line struggles (路线斗争)”: the offi cial history of the mostly as a “fragmented pre-1966 CCP, no longer reprinted, listed nine such events. -

June’s economic indicators were mixed, with some up slightly and some down slightly on May. If moves to eliminate overcapacity and other structural reforms accelerate from the 2H onwards, this will place more downward pressure on the economy. The question is whether China will be able to promote structural reform while maintaining jobs and growth. 1. June’s economic indicators deteriorated slightly on the whole ・ Growth hit +6.7% in April–June too ・ Investment fell slightly ・ Retail sales of consumer goods accelerated slightly ・ Property prices continued to grow at a slower pace in first-tier cities ・ Exports and imports both fell ・ The CPI growth rate slowed, mainly due to stable vegetable prices ・ There was a net increase in new loans, with total social financing also increasing 2. Movement on the employment and earnings environment and to eliminate overcapacity ・ ‘China faces challenges in maintaining household income growth’ (National Bureau of Statistics) ・ ‘Strict penalties will be applied for failure to reach targets for eliminating overcapacity’ (National Development and Reform Commission) - 1 - 1. June’s economic indicators deteriorated slightly on the whole ・Growth hit +6.7% in April–June too On July 15, the National Bureau of Statistics announced that China’s real GDP (gross domestic product) had grown by 6.7% on the same period last year (all figures from here on refer to ‘same-period previous-year’ growth unless otherwise specified) in both January–June and April–June1.
