Boothby Pagnell . Braceby . Humby chapel . Ingoldsby . Lenton . Old Somerby . Ropsley . Sapperton Pew Sheet for 23rd May 2021 On the Day of Pentecost, the followers of Jesus were all together in fellowship, when a rushing wind suddenly blew through the place where they were, and they saw what looked like tongues of fire hovering over each of their heads. The Holy Spirit – the power sent by God – had arrived, and their lives and ministry were transformed. Flags and kites are often used to signify the power of God, and also the colours of fire, the wild goose and the dove. Proceeds to Ingoldsby Church. Ingoldsby community market Saturday 26th June, 11.00-15.00 We can all reduce our carbon footprint by shopping locally from local producers. The community market gives us a chance to do just that. We are inviting food producers and craftspeople from the local area to take part, and, hopefully, offer a wide range of products, from preserves to eco cleaning products. Refreshments available. This is a pilot for a possible regular market, so if you would like to see more of these, please support this event. Please remember in prayer In the world: • Peace in areas which a torn by war and violence. Justice where people’s cries are silenced by oppression. Acceptance where people are diminished by any kind of prejudice. Concern for others, where communities have become indifferent or smug. • The compassion and the generosity of the wealthy nations, so that they will support the vaccination programmes of the poorer nations. • The work of Christian Aid, and other aid organisations. In the community and society: • The indwelling of the Holy Spirit, so that we may come alive to her prompting and be given the power and will to revitalize our church communities, and all those whom we serve in the name of Christ. • For true honesty and transparency among those who hold public office. • For continued caution and responsibility in the way we live our lives, coming out of Covid-19 measures. The sick: Richard Hanmer; Kathy Cheesmond, Robert Arlott, Neil Wilson, Brian French, Dawn Eldred, Rosemary Leach, Barry Buxton. The invocation of the Holy Spirit: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth. O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy Her consolations, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
