Co-ordinated by Heritage Lincolnshire, with support from Lincolnshire County Council and South Lincolnshire local authorities, the festival offers 14 days of great walking in the North and South Kesteven, Boston and South Holland areas of south Lincolnshire. Walking for everyone This year we are delighted to be offering 61 walks; our varied programme offers something for all ages and abilities, with walks ranging from 0.5 miles to 26 miles. Many of our walks are suitable for wheelchair users and accessible with pushchairs (look out for the symbols on the walk listings). We also have lots of family friendly walks E asy on offer featuring fun activities such as sculpture and puzzle trails, quizzes, crafts and more! So why not share your brochure with family and friends, and get everyone involved! Turn to page 2 for family event listings. Our aim to get more people walking is supported by Lincolnshire County Council’s three-year Access Lincoln project, supported by the Department of Transport. Look out for the easy symbol which indicates the walk is suitable for most levels of fitness. You will notice that some of our walks now have a fixed price and many others invite voluntary donations for the walking festival, as well as for local good causes. This will help us cover our core costs and ensure that we can keep it going for the future. If a walk carries a charge it is clearly marked. The following apply to all charged walks: £2 for 0-3 miles and £3.50 for over 3 miles. Under 18’s go free. Charges may vary for special events, please see individual walk listings. Payment should be made in cash on the day – please help our walk leaders by bringing the correct change! Walks which invite donations are clearly marked. Donations are greatly appreciated; 100% of the money raised goes to the South Lincolnshire Walking Festival (SLWF), or where stated, donations are split 50/50 between the festival and the walk leader’s affiliated charity. South Lincolnshire Walking Festival is Co-ordinated by Heritage Lincolnshire, a local charity, with support from Lincolnshire County Council and south Lincolnshire local authorities (North and South Kesteven, South Holland and Boston Borough Council). We rely on the income from walk charges and donations in order to cover the costs of running the festival and ensure we keep it going for the future. Built in the 1830s by Gregory Gregory, the house is now owned by the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA, and is used as their British Campus. This family friendly event offers a packed programme of walks and tours, or you can explore the grounds at your own leisure with the self-led trails. Please note that some walks have limited availability, places will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. No dirty footwear to be worn in the Manor. Dogs are not allowed on site. All launch day walks (except house tours) are free but donations to SLWF are welcomed. There will be a chance to try out Active Lincolnshire’s new GoExplore app on some of the walks - look out for the symbol.
