    Bellerive Country Club 12925 Ladue Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63141 314-275-9458 Fax: 314-439-5231 Agronomic Development Program Our History Bellerive Country Club, founded originally in 1897 in north St. Louis as a nine-hole course with 166 members. In 1910, the membership incorporated as Bellerive Country Club, naming the club after Louis St. Ange De Bellerive, the last French commander in North America. In 1955, the club membership decided to move west, and allowed renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. to pick a prime farm for the location of the new site. On Memorial Day, 1960 the “Green Monster of Ladue” opened. The Championship tradition of Bellerive Country Club began in 1965 when the club became the “youngest” course too ever host a US Open. South African, Gary Player won the event, and completed his career grand slam. Since its unveiling to the world, Bellerive has went on to host many national and world championships, 1981 the club hosted the US Mid-Amateur Championship, won by Jim Holtgrieve. Nick Price captured his first major by winning the 1992 PGA Championship here at Bellerive. In 2001 the American Express World Golf Championship, scheduled for September, was cancelled due to the events on 9-11. Major Championship golf returned to the club in 2004 with the US Senior Open won by Peter Jacobsen. In 2008, Bellerive put out its hosting mat welcoming the BMW Championships. The PGA returned to the club this past May as we hosted the 2013 Senior PGA Championship. The 2018 “Glory’s Last Shot” returns to our historic facility, as we will play host to the 100th PGA Championship.

    HISTORY MAKER GOLF Championship Golf Game • Course Summaries Course Collection ONE Blackjack GC, Las Vegas NV / based on TPC SUMMERLIN TPC Summerlin’s layout, carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed, provides a good reference for the Blackjack GC. TPC Summerlin’s lush bentgrass greens, numerous water features and an abundance of pine trees all contrast dramatically with undisturbed desert washes. The course features four closing holes that deliver top flight golf drama. The final charge begins with the par 4, 15th hole – a drivable par 4 that will temp most players. If the tee shot misses the green, an “up and down” birdie is possible, but not easy, due to the severely elevated and undulated green – which is surrounded by five bunkers that regularly attract stray tee shots. The 16th hole is a relatively downhill par-5 that is reachable with two good shots. The green is guarded by water short of the green, and bunkers beyond. Only a mid-iron will be necessary for the second shot, with a birdie almost a certainty. A challenging and un-nerving par-3, the 17th hole plays downhill with the green guarded closely by a lake on the left and by bunkers on the right. Par is good score and birdies are rare, should players need to make up ground. The 18th is a well-designed and strategic finishing hole which moves right to left off the tee. The green is protected on the left by a lake. An aggressive tee shot with the driver can leave the player just a short iron to a very deep green from front to back.

Patterson Cup Course Information Par: TBD Founded: 2001 Architect: Gil Hanse Website: www.applebrookgolfclub.com History Applebrook Golf Club was builtStay on land formerlyConnected known as “Applebrook with Farm.” GAP Robert Williams originally owned the property, located just outside the historic village of Goshenville. He was the first settler in Goshen. The land was deeded to Williams in 1680 from William Penn, and it is one of the earliest Penn Land Grants in Chester County. The original Williams’ homestead, circa 1702, still remains on East Boot Road and was owned by Shirley Fox since 1971. In 1715, the farm was acquired by Samuel Garrett. The Garrett family retained ownership of the land until 1900. A fieldstone house built by Garrett descendants has been renovated to serve as a meeting place for the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry. The dairy barn has also been renovated and is being used as the Golf Course Superintendent’s headquarters. The East Goshen Historic Commission believes the name Applebrook originated from Samuel Horner who purchased the property in 1913. On Jan. 27, 2000, the founding members came to an agreement with a local bank that made it possible to take upon the venture of starting a prestigious golf club on this land.
