Anything turned in after January 10th (including the PTO Meeting) is not reflected in this balance sheet. Balances are not due until May 16th, but this is a great opportunity to see where you stand and make any corrections necessary. Please make sure that you have completed and turned in all FIC cards to the FIC Box in the front office.

We have reached another goal...and then some! The Lion Fund is now at $30,000!!! At 2:30 on Thursday, February 1st, we will learn the fate of who’s KISSING A PIG! Will it be Ms. Sam, Ms. Dee, Mrs. Rucka, Ms. Trish, Ms. Brown and Mrs. Valladares? The top three “money getters” from student/family donations to the specific jar (in the front office) will be puckering up on to KISS A PIG! All parents are wel- come to attend. We have now surpassed our next goal of $25,000, so now some lucky faculty/staff member will become a human sundae! Want to contribute to the Lion Fund? As you know, we are excitedly heading into National Catholic Schools week! BUT, it is also National School Choice week and in our capacity as a partner school system with the school- choice nonprofit, Families Empowered, Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will be represented at the “Stronger Together: Celebrating School Choice” event at Park this Saturday, Jan. 27th (from 10am – 1pm)! All of our families are invited to join in the fun and fellowship as we gather to support the rights of families to choose the educational opportunities that will best serve their students regardless of district lines. For the students, there will be an opportunity to run the bases down on the field and to meet and greet with , the Astros’ mascot! Families are encouraged to attend and share their love of their school with the community! Re-Enrollment for the 2018/2019 School Year Begins February 15th! It is very important that everything is completed by February 28th, along with the $300 Re‐Enrollment Fee per student enrolling. Once a class is full, it will be closed, and a waiting list will be implemented. Applications for 1st time Students of an already registered family will also be available February 15th! If you have another child sibling of a present student, his/her online application available February 15th, $125 Application Fee and $300 Enrollment Fee need to be completed and turned in before February 28th. All Re‐Enrollment and New Enrollment Applications must be submitted online. More information regarding tuition, the Before and After School Program, FIC, School Calendar and FACTS Account information will be sent home with next week’s newsletter. Payments of fees must be paid online at the end of the application process. No application will be considered complete until all documents have been completed and fees have been paid. On March 1st, all open seats will be made available to the public. Don’t forget, if you recommend a family for next year, and they enroll and use you as a reference, your family will receive $100 off one month of tuition during the 2018‐2019 school year!

We are so excited to announce the SMMCS students who were honored during yesterday’s University of St. Thomas Essay Contest! Out of more than 7,000 essays submitted, the following SMMCS students placed and were rewarded the follow: 3rd Grade: Jonah Merritt received Honorable Mention (970 essays submitted) 4th Grade: Madison Koch received 4th Place (1093 essays submitted) 5th Grade: Hayden McCready received 1st Place (1068 essays submitted) 7th Grade: Xiomara Salinas received 4th Place and Jesus Puente received Honorable Mention (1094 essays submitted) This is such an incredible honor, and we are so very, very proud of you all!
