Catherine and Mr. N.Hariharan attended one day national level Faculty Development Program on Power system analysis co- ordinate by Dr.N.M.Jothiswaroopan, Conducted bt at RMKEC, between 29-11-12 and 07-12-12.  Dr. N. Kalaiarasi, Dr.N.M.Jothiswaroopan, Ms.T.J. DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES  EEE Department Students’ Association Inaugural Function was conducted on 14th of July, 2012. Chief Guest - Mr. S. Titus Thanga Primus, Senior Manager, Cognizant Technologies Solutions, Chennai.  EEE Department National level technical symposium “OPUZELEK’12” was conducted by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, RMKCET, at RMKCET on 24th of September, 2012.

 All students of third year EEE Department attended guest lecture on “Recent trends in Power System”, by Dr. P. Somasundaram, Asso. Prof.,CEG on 14-07-2012.  All students of Final year EEE Department attended guest lecture on “Power System Protection and Switch Gear”, by Dr. S.R. Krishnamoorthy, Prof., Former member generation of TNEB, Visiting Prof., Anna university on 24-07-2012.  All students of Final year EEE Department attended guest lecture on “Power System Operation and Control” by Dr. K. Sudhakar, Asso. Prof.,PEC on 28-07-2012.  All students of Third year EEE Department attended guest lecture on “Power Electronics” by Mr. Jeevanadam on 28-07-2012.

PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES

 On 18.07.2012 Honeywell Automation India Ltd. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted at RMK Engineering College. A. Gowtham of final year EEE Department was placed in the company.  On 00.00.2012 Wipro Technologies Ltd. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted at RMK Engineering College. Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted at RMK Engineering College. INDUSTRIAL VISIT

 On 24th of July, 2012, the second year EEE Students went on an industrial visit to , Chennai.  On 17th of July 2012, third year EEE Students went on an industrial visit to , , Chennai.  On 21th of July, 2012, the second year EEE Students went on an industrial visit to VI Micro Systems Pvt. Ltd., , Chennai.  On 22nd of August, 2012, third year EEE Students went on an industrial visit to THERMAL POWER STATION, Chennai.  On 22nd of August, 2012, final year EEE Students went on an industrial visit to LOGO WORKS, Chennai.

 All students of second year EEE Department attended JADE-Personality Development Path Finding training program from 28-07-2012 to 31-07-2012.  All eligible students of Final year EEE Department attended Nurturing Young Minds- Program sponsored by Accenture India Ltd., on 18-07-2012. SPORTS

 Reshma Sivasankar of II year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Atheletic events at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and won 1st Place (gold medal) for Discus throw between 14-10-2012 to 16-10-2012.  Purusothaman. B of III year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Atheletic events at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and won 2nd Place (silver medal) for High jump between 14-10-2012 to 16-10-2012.  Mohammad thariq. A of II year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Atheletic events at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for Shot put between 14-10-2012 to 16-10-2012.  Krithika. V of III year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Atheletic events at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for 4 x 100 meters relay between 14-10-2012 to 16-10-2012.  Pranitha Sree. M.C. of IV year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament at G.R.T. Institute of Technology and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for Volley Ball on 04-10-2012.  Nithyakalyani. U of III year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament at G.R.T. Institute of Technology and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for Volley Ball on 04-10-2012.  Pavithra Lakshmi. P of IV year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament at G.R.T. Institute of Technology and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for Volley Ball on 04-10-2012.  Divya. B of II year EEE department participated in Anna University Zone 1 Intercollegiate Volley Ball Tournament at G.R.T. Institute of Technology and won 3rd Place (bronze medal) for Volley Ball on 04-10-2012.
