Not providing sufficient information for the Government to ascertain what you really bring to the table 16 BUILDING STRONG® Competitive Procurements Let’s focus on the Technical Submission This is the most subjective of all the submission volumes This is where you are “selling your capabilities” for the solicited project 17 BUILDING STRONG® Competitive Procurements What is key? When responding focus on two (2) simple questions . What? . How? 18 BUILDING STRONG® Competitive Procurements WHAT? WHAT have you done? This pertains to past performance. Make sure you explain WHAT makes your submitted past performance relevant to the solicited project. 19 BUILDING STRONG® Competitive Procurements WHAT? (con’t) WHAT will you do? This pertains to technical/management approach. Make sure you explain WHAT you are going to do to make this a successful project. Remain focused on the solicited project Do not talk in generalities 20 BUILDING STRONG® Competitive Procurements HOW? HOW will you do what you’ve committed to? HOW adds credence to what you are going to do. It demonstrates you’ve thought about implementation of your technical commitments. If you don’t have a plan on HOW to make it happen, the “what” becomes irrelevant. Remain focused on the solicited project Tie your discussion specifically back to what you are going to do Do not generalize 21 BUILDING STRONG® Gateway to work with Baltimore District Our District Website: http://www.nab.usace.army.mil Current Contracting Opportunities and recently awarded contracts: www.fbo.gov NAB FY 15 Forecast of Contracting Opportunities (FCO): http://www.nab.usace.army.mil/Portals/63/docs/SmallBusiness/FY%202014%20Forecast%20of%20Contracting%20Opportunities% 20(as%20of%2015%20July).pdf BUILDING STRONG® Questions? 23 BUILDING STRONG® Points of Contact for Outreach to Your Organization Deputy for Small Business ► Tamika Gray • E-mail: [email protected] • Telephone: 410-962-2587 Military Program Manager ► Frank Benvenga • E-mail: [email protected] • Telephone: 410-962-6785 Civil Works Program Manager ► Chris Nolta • E-mail: [email protected] • Telephone: 410-962-3385 Environmental Program Manager ► Michael Rogers • E-mail: Michael.
