Superior Donuts – A Recipe for Success by Kate Lyman Making a donut is relatively easy. All you need are a few simple ingredients and some oil to fry them in. However, as we all know, creating a successful sitcom is significantly more difficult. Yet, that’s exactly what Executive Producers Bob Daily, Garrett Donovan, Neil Goldman and the entire Superior Donuts team have managed to do as the show heads into its second season. Continuing what it started in the first season, Superior Donuts looks to serve up a fresh take on the tried and true traditions of multi-cam comedy every week. Heralded for its diverse cast, unique perspectives and laugh out loud wit, the sophomore sitcom aims to offer another slate of personal, relevant and provocative stories. Superior Donuts is committed to tackling social and political issues of the day, such as police brutality, the cost of higher learning, gang violence, gentrification, and other topical subjects with insight and authenticity. Even with this ambitious goal Superior Donuts somehow finds a way to deliver big laughs and authentic, relatable characters. If living up to this high standard seems like a tall task, it is.
