Received Aug. 20, 2015 Accepted Sept. 10, 2015 ABSTRACT Rama went on exile for 14 years. At the end of 12th year, near Panchavadi, Sita was abducted by Ravana. Rama with the help of Hanuman located Sita at Ashoka Vatika, Sri Lanka. To reach Sri Lanka, Nala and Vanara sena constructed a sea bridge from Dhanuskhodi, India to Thalaimannar, Sri Lanka with 35 Km length and 3.5 Km width in 5 days with local trees, rocks and gravels. At Sri Lanka Rama killed Ravana and returned with Sita to Ajodhya. The sea bridge with largest area, constructed 1.5 million years before is still considered an engineering marvel. Sri Rama Navami On Chaitra Sukla Navami (the ninth day of the bright half of Chaitra) 'Sree Ramanavami' is celebrated. "Wherever four Hindus live, Rama and Sita will be there" so said Swami Vivekananda, one of the foremost harbingers of modern national renaissance of Bharat. The reverse also is equally true - wherever Rama and Sita live, the people there will remain and live as Hindus. Every hill and rivulet of Bharat bears the imprint of the holy feet of Rama and Sita. Sri Rama reigns supreme to this day in the hearts of our people, cutting across all barriers of province, language, caste or sect. Even the tribes living in isolated valleys and jungles have names like Mitti-Ram and Patthar-Ram. In some other tribes, every name carries the proud suffix of Ram, such as Lutthu Ram, Jagadev Ram, etc. In many northern parts of Bharat mutual greetings take the form of Jay Ramjee Ki. Sri Rama has become so much identified with all the good and great and virile qualities of heroic manhood that expressions such as 'Us me Ram nahi hai' (there is no Rama in him) - meaning that a person has lost all manliness and worth - have become common usage. -

Through an analysis of Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s The Palace of Illusions (2008), Shashi Tharoor’s The Great Indian Novel (1989), and Peter Brook’s theatrical production The Mahabharata (1989 television mini-series), I argue that these reimaginings represent a tendency to challenge the cultural authority of the Sanskrit epic in certain important ways. The study is premised on the recognition that the three works of art in question respond, some more consciously than others, to three established assumptions regarding the Mahabharata respectively: (1) the Sanskrit epic as a product of divine authorship; (2) the Sanskrit epic as history; and (3) the Sanskrit epic as the story of a particular race. -

The entry of several CEOs and top management people who graduated from modern B schools learnt the western principle of management and focused their attention towards the western philosophy of survival of the fittest and promoted the short term strategy of dog eat dog in the organization to prove their worth. Blind persuasion of the modern management principles borrowed from the western philosophy that measures success in terms of the materialistic accomplishment and not on spiritual values promoted the culture of rat race among employees who focused their working for getting increments and salary hike without realizing the fact that even if one wins the rat race, one remains the rat. As a short term strategy, such CEOs and top management professionals might get success in the ballooning of the bottom line of the balance sheet and managing a few awards too but soon the brand starts losing its credibility. -

By entering the precise details of the planetary configuration of the important events in the life of Shri Ram as given in the Valmiki Ramayan in the software named "Planetarium" corresponding exact dates of these events according to the English calendar can be known. Mr Pushkar Bhatnagar, of the Indian Revenue Service, had acquired this software from the US. It is used to predict the solar/lunar eclipses and distance and location of other planets from earth. He entered the relevant details about the planetary positions narrated by Maharishi Valmiki and obtained very interesting and convincing results, which almost determine the important dates starting from the birth of Shri Ram to the date of his coming back to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. -

University of Calicut, Kerala, India Keywords Creative self, library, literary wisdom, self transformation, transformative centers Abstract There is a path which takes any creative intellect from the world of information to that of wisdom through the world of knowledge. This path for creative realization is indeed resonant with the 'Upanishadic' method of spiritual realization, i.e. the transformative ideology of the East, consisting of the phases of 'Sravana', 'Manana', and 'Nididhyasana' in that order, with the outcome of the phases being Information, Knowledge and Wisdom respectively. This has been seen to be true in the case of legendary literary work and unparalleled epic of the East, Mahabharata, inspired the master writer of India, MT Vasudevan Nair in penning an equally legendary work 'Randamoozham' (Second Turn), in this comparatively limited linguistic realm and the role played by libraries in that creative endeavor.
