DONALD H.MACKAY September 17, 1958. MAYOR ^GAHYCJ^*^

Mr. A. V. Brundage, Mon Repos Lausanne, Switzerland.

Dear Mr. Brundage:

This letter will place the official civic approval upon an approach being made to the International Olympic Committee as regards the 1964 Winter Olympics.

The City of Calgary has always been an out standing sports-minded Canadian City. We are, of course, located in the immediate proximity of the Canadian Rockies and in the facilities at Banff, with the co-operation of the Provincial and Federal authorities, would be in an ideal position to offer a winter setting that would be the equal of any setting in the world.

May I, therefore, respectfully request your earnest consideration of Calgary, Canada, in planning your future International Winter Olympics.

Yours very truly,

MAYOR. D::M:LK
