Coordinator of Communications, PR, & Marketing Phone: (317) 423-8375 Email: [email protected] Lawrence Central High School Announces New Varsity Football Coach Indianapolis - Lawrence Central High School (LC) is proud to welcome new Varsity Football Coach, Mr. John Rodenberg. Rodenberg comes to LC from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he served as the head coach between 2008-2017. In 2012 and 2013, he led the Moeller team to back-to-back Division I state championships, having appeared a total of eight times in the OHSAA Division I playoffs, Rodenberg has coached multiple students who have gone on to play for Division I, II, & III NCAA football teams. Prior to serving at Moeller, Rodenberg served as head football coach at Roger Bacon High School (Cincinnati, OH), Covington Catholic High School (Park Hills, KY), and Archbishop McNicholas High School (Cincinnati, OH). In 2006, he led Covington Catholic to a KSHAA 3A State Championship. According to LC Athletic Director, Mr. Ryan Banas, “I am honored to welcome Coach Rodenberg as the next leader of our football program. He is driven to continue to win at the highest level.” Banas adds, “He is a 3-time state champion and his relationships with college programs are extensive.     1 1 2016-17 ANNUAL REPORT Students, Faculty, Staff, Neighbors & Friends of Chatfield: Chatfield College recently completed the 2016-2017 school and fiscal year. Many milestones were achieved, and a graduating class fifty nine-strong was launched with inspiring and motivating words from Chatfield alumna DeAnna Hoskins ’03. (See page 4 for a graduation feature. Better yet, go to www.chatfield.edu/commencementspeech to see a graduation slide show including the actual audio of DeAnna’s memorable and moving commencement address.) After the ceremony, graduates, families, friends, faculty, neighbors and staff were the first to see and experience the renovated and expanded Welcome Center. A year of messy and dusty construction culminated in a new dining and gathering space for everyone, reconfigured offices for the Site Director, Admissions staff and Financial Aid department, a comfortable waiting area, plus plenty of student-only seating and activity rooms to enhance the experience for St. Martin students for decades to come. (See photos on pages 8-9.) The Welcome Center project, like the opening of the award-winning Cincinnati Campus in Over-the-Rhine the prior year, was made possible by the loyal and generous members of the entire Chatfield family of donors and supporters who contributed to the “Building Community” capital campaign. That campaign, scheduled to last a half-decade (2013-2018), was completed a year early, in June, having achieved its lofty goal of $5 million in gifts and pledges. Thank you to all who invested in this campaign, and more importantly, invested in our students. The past year, like most, was not without challenges.

The diminishing number means many more parishes will be without a resident pastor, and some parishes will no longer have a priest available to them at all. The trend makes it more likely that new models of ministry will need to be launched to maintain Catholic faith communities throughout the country. It is likely more and more responsibility for the growth of such churches will rest with lay leaders. This study looks at the problem through the lens of Change Theory with the methodology of Action Research. This report examines the effects of the priest shortage trends on St. Anthony Parish in Madisonville, and the efforts to define the best ministerial and administrative structure for its lay people to position the parish within a Pastoral Region in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. For the U.S. Church to survive the laity must begin to take on roles that priests once held. There is a new vigor for the laity, particularly women, to assume stronger roles in the parishes.
