MASCOT WHY Bird and Since the blue bird is the state bird, it will follow the theme of the school name (Capital City). Royal Blue is the of the blue bird and black would be the secondary color matching our other High School (J C). Blue bird and Missouri state bird Blue bird Robins egg blue & white The blue bird is our state bird- links the high schools as well. Blue Bird Royal Blue and White The state bird is the blue bird and it fits with the other high school being a bird also. Blue bird and black To keep it in line with the current high school Blue bird Royal blue and white Because jays have a bird and the other school can have a blue bird blue bird royal blue , red , and black for JC , we already have a jay bird so either we have the jay bird for both high schools or we have different birds .. and we combine the colors of TJ & LC into the new highs how Blue bird Dark blue and dark The mascot compares with the JC mascot. The colors because the blue would be a good color for a high school and silver because it goes with blue Blue Bird Blue bird blue and Blue bird is MO state’s bird. We have the Jays already. and Jays of JC sound good. It’s catchy, “Go JC Blues!” Blue Bird Royal blue and golden Because Jc high school is jay birds and their color is red and black. Blue bird Royal blue and black. To go with the Capital City theme, the bluebird is the Missouri State bird. Feeder school TJ is blue and red, so blue would continue that like LC continues red from their red and gold to JCHS. Blue bird Royal blue and titanium white The blue bird is the state bird and I think it would neat for both high schools to have birds. Blue for the bird. Blue bird and gold The mascot should be a bird since it is a second JCHS and baby blue and gold because jc already had red and black as theirs Blue bird Royal blue and black Closely related to red jay bird Blue bird Blue bird blue and white It’s our state bird. Plus the Jay Birds and the Blue Birds would compliment one another. Blue Birds Royal blue and silver Because the state bird is the blue bird and the colors blue and silver match the bird Blue cardinals Royal blue and black. The jays and red and black and that works well when announcing "Jeff city Jays". The "Capital City Cardinals" sounds equal to that. And The colors oppposite eachother. Both are similar birds that should be the others actual color. It makes similar feel for complimenting eachotherrand working together rather than to riveling and competing . And So for all these reasons it just makes since. Thanks and good luck choosing. Go jays class of 2001! Blue Jay Royal Blue, Black, and White or GreyThere is a lot of pride in the community about Jefferson City Public Schools. The mascot is the Red Bird Jay It would be cool to have a "Red Jay" and a "Blue Jay" since we are all under one umbrella as a school district! Blue Jay Dark Royal Blue / White / BlackAll grow up “wanting to be a Jay”...this allows all to still be Jays! Blue Jay powder blue and navy blue with black and white as the outlining and accent colors.1. HOME of the Jays can still be used for PR. (Jasper the Jaybird and ______the Blue Jay) 2. The blue jay mascot doesn't repeat any of the other Cole County high schools. 3. Jasper is a unique cartoon image one of a kind. I would like to see the Blue Jay have an image style that would be complementary to Jasper so when doing the PR they could balance each other. I hope the graphic arts department can be creative. 4. The two would be bold like the red and black blue jay I think the school color should be royal blue and candy red. I think the committees should consider these options for a mascot because the mascot would go along with the other highschool because they are the red jays.I think the committee should consider the school colors because royal blue would be the color of the blue jay and the candy red would tie along with the colors of the other schools. Blue Jay Royal blue and black This mascot would bond the two high schools together in Jay unity. I started to suggest blue and white for the colors, but I think blue and black would also be more unifying. Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black Could still be home of the Jays blue jay navy blue They go together and the highschool mascot is jays and its red so it should be blue jay. Blue jay Black and royal blue Easier for former Jays students to feel connected and pride in their new school Blue Jay Royal blue and black Jay pride was so important when I was in school. I would love to see this continue. Blue Jay Royal Blue and White Jefferson City would still be the home of the Jays. This could promote unity. Blue because of the blue bird and white looks good with blue. Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black To help keep the community strong with One JC! Blue jay Royal blue and white Red, white and blue colors has both schools combine to make the United States flag colors. Brings both schools together in unity/patriotic symbol. Blue Jay Navy Blue, , White The Blue Jay and the blue colors will compliment Jefferson City HS's colors and mascot as well have its own identity. Blue Jay royal blue and white Everyone wants to remain a "JAY". It's Jay tradition. No other name fits! You will still have Jays at both schools. Just different colors. Or if you actually want to tie into the Capital, go with Filibusters blue jay navy blue and black because of jay bird at the original highschool Blue Jay Royal blue and white It still resembles the “Jay Bird” theme, and once a jay always a jay no matter what high school. You can still be a Jay but just with different colors. Blue Jay Royal Blue and titanium White'Cause when you put Cap City and JC together for a parade or major school event it'll rock socks! BLUE JAY POWDER BLUE AND BLACK NICE COMPLIMENT TO THE ORIGINAL HIGH SCHOOL MASCOT AND COLORS Blue Jay Royal Blue Bright White Blends with the present mascot Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black Both schools would be Jays and unify students, staff, as well as the community. Blue Jay Royal blue and black!!! Blue jay is the state bird of Missouri & Mule is the state animal. Blue Jay Blue and silver Continue the theme of JC. Blue Jay Royal Jay blue and white Because we have Jefferson City jays and we could have capital city blue jays so when people think Jefferson City they will still think of the jays no matter which high school. Blue jay Royal blue and black A blue jay would match well with original high school. We would have the jays (red) and the blue jays in blue. Blue Jay Royal blue and black Or Royal blue and whiteCorrelates well with existing high school and feels stronger together!! Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black For those who have ties to the community and ties to the school JCHS....once a Jay always a Jay. This allows the parents who attended JC who are now sending their children to the new highschool the ability to continue a sense of tradition. A tradition that many would be proud to continue the legacy. Royal Blue and Black Blue Jays. This is a common thought process with many alumni. Thank you for your consideration.

Blue jay Royal blue and white Being an JCHS alumni jay pride is important to me. Having a blue jay as the mascot will carry over the tradition of jay pride and unite the school district while simultaneously displaying diversity. Blue Jay Royal blue and white Blue Jay is compatible with Jays. Blue and white are the colors of a Blue Jay. Blue Jay and White It goes perfect with the original Jays! Blue Jay Royal Blue & Black Stay with the same concept as the "red" Jays to unify the two schools. And have one common color for both schools. In this case - black. Blue Jay Powder blue and dark JC are the jaybirds so it would be cool to have the birds going against each other. MO is also known for our pretty birds so the colors will pop Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black It's different but the same. It gives the second HS it's own identity, but keeps with the current JCHS theme. Blue jay Royal blue and white The similarity and slight difference from JCHS Blue jay Royal blue & white I didn’t attend JCHS myself but my husband did. I’m still amazed at the Jay pride everyone who went to JCHS seems to show. ONCE A JAY ALWAYS A JAY! You see the Jay pride at the parades, games & generally all over this town. I’d like to see that continue. With a Blue Jay as mascot the jays stadium would be fitting for both high schools. Having the color Royal Blue with red, black or white would all work. The Jays Mascot would keep them all Jaybirds. The colors may show some division but overall we can still show our jaybird pride. Also I’m the mother of 5 and 3 of my children will graduate as jaybirds. I’d really like the last 2 to do the same no matter which School district we fall into. Blue Jay Jay Blue and Black If we made CCHS the Blue Jays and JCHS the Red Jays, it would give the two high schools some friendly competition. However, it still won't change that Jefferson City is home of the jays, and both high schools have Jay Pride. Blue Jay Black and royal blue / . other districts with multiple high schools keep one color constant throughout their secondary building branding to signify the same concept as the Blue Jay name implies- separate buildings with separate cultures, but under one unified family. WE ARE JC! For the reasons mentioned in 3 and 4. We have an oooortunity to continue the real and palatable momentum created by #strongertogether. Signifying that we are proud of both of our high schools - the new one and the revitalized, reborn JCHS as equal facilities under the same “family crest” of Jefferson City is an extremely powerful idea and visualization. It brings symmetry in branding to both schools yet proxies them their own unique and distinct colors and mascots. Blue Jay Royal blue and white Goes with the Jays mascot. Blue Jay Black and Royal blue To keep the jay pride part of Jeff city - you can still say once a jay always a jay just two different jays. #Strongertogether Blue Jay Navy blue, and black They should be similar to JC’s because originally they would’ve been a jay and some people are disappointed about the new school, this may make them still feel like one. blue jay royal blue and black black and royal blue with the blue jay as a mascot will show the connection between schools while still showing their own independence I think it is important to establish the idea that the schools are not rivals but sisters Blue Jay Royal blue and black It's basically the opposite of JCHS so it would be the perfect pair. Blue jay Royal blue and black Well since JC is red and black with a red bird why not make the other school the opposite? Blue Jay Royal blue and white I was a Jaybird. My parents and grandparents were Jaybirds. Now my two littles will be going to the new high school and I would love to keep the “Jay” tradition alive. Please! ?? Blue Jay Royal Blue Black As a Jay Alumni I feel they should stick with the Jay bird pride. A Blue Jay with colors of Royal Blue and Black would be keeping with the sister school theme. Blue Jay Navy Blue and white Kind of like Jay Bird Keeps the schools connected if they are sharing the same stadium Blue jay Royal blue and white Symmetry with jchs Blue Jay Royal Blue and Silver Community connection within the same dstrict Blue Jay Cobalt blue and white They are the exact opposites of JCHS's colors and mascot. Blue jay is to red Bird as blue and white are to red and black Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black Because the kids going to the new school (who have grown up with "Jay Pride") will still get to be a part of the "Jay Pride" Blue Jay A Blue combination with white and black Well the old high school is the jays and they’re red and they’d be our cross town rivals, the blue jays Blue jay blue (same as the city flag) and whiteThe new high school should share a certain identity with the old one. In this case, using essentially the same bird but in a different color (actually the most common color for the jay is blue) helps bring them together. The blue and white plus red and black of the two high schools would cover all of the colors of the Jefferson City flag. Blue Jay Navy Blue and Black Blue Jay is similar to Jay Bird, so still the "Jays" for "Jay Pride" and still have black as one of the primary colors, and of course blue for Blue Jay Blue Jay Royal blue and red I think that the high schools should have similar mascots and similar colors but not be too close to other area schools. Blue Jay Royal blue and silver Because you have a blue jay on one side of town and red bird on the other! Blue Jay Cobalt blue and steel grey Jay birds are red. Blue birds are blue. Jefferson City will then have patriotic colors for the high schools in the capital of the state. Red/white/blue/grey Blue Jay Royal Blue and Black Keeping the schools united but giving them individuality! Go Jays!! Blue Jay & white Still the JAYS. Blue jay Royal blue and black . Blue Jay Royal blue and black It only makes sense to continue the "Jay Pride" to the second high school. Blue Jay Royal blue and white JCHS mascot is the Red Jay bird. If CCHS mascot was a Blue Jay bird, then we still would all be The Jays but we would still be individual. Blue Jay Royal blue and white Shows unity with current high school Blue Jay Royal blue and Black Can still be a Jay bird. Don't really care what color the blue is. But as an old (67) Jay bird, I want to be able to support the new school by saying they are still Jay Birds. It will not matter which school they attend. Blue Jay Blue Jay Blue & Black I think it compliments the original JC school tradition. Blue Jay Electric (Sky) Blue I think that it would keep “Jay Pride Alive” with having the Red Jays (JCHS) and Blue Jays (CCHS). It would continue to unify the JCPS Spirit. BLUE JAY ROYAL BLUE & WHITE the colors for kc royals & the blue jay to go with the bird theme of jchs Blue Jay Royal blue and white This would continue the stronger together theme of JCPS, and continue Jay Pride. Blue Jay blue & black The two schools represent the same city, so the mascots should be similar also. Blue Jay Royal blue and black For a while CCHS will share Atkins stadium- if CCHS is a blue jay- Atkins Stadium is home of the jays. Continuation of JAYPRIDE- royal blue and black- black as the common color between the two high schools blue Jay Blue (blue jay) and white The existing school mascot is a red jay, so a blue jay still allows Jay Pride as a motto. And jays are blue. Blue Jay Navy blue, sterling silver, and goldI think Blue Jays would be a nice contrast to Jays and I think Cougar because I feel that Capital City Cougars has a nice ring to it. I was also think navy blue, silver and gold because it would be in contrast from the red, white and black of JCHS. I think those are also Helias’ colors, but they’re suitable.

blue jay royal blue and black they should because JC is a jay bird and it’s red and black colors Blue Jay Navy blue and powder blue They would compliment the original high school as well as show it’s own distinction Blue Jay Rockhurst Blue 1) Easy to change JC logo blue 2) Plays on the Cardinals (East Side) and Royals (West SIde) 3) Takes "the sting" for parents who may have been a "red jay" 4) The bird is a real bird 5) The bird is the word 6) Lots of bird logos in Mid Mo area 7) "Welcome to the Flock" Blue Jay Royal blue and black Keeps JCPS home of the Kay's Blue Jay Royal Blue & White Complements Jeff City High very well! Blue jay Royal Blue / white / black I think since we already have a Jay keeping the same theme will keep the schools united. blue jay Whatever color a blue jay is and black.Jefferson City is known as being the Jefferson City Jays. Why change and complicate that. Blue Jay Baby boy blue and black We have JC Jays and to stick with the Theme we can have the CC blue Jays. The jays have red and black. The blue jays can be blue and black. Blue jay Navy blue and black Jay Pride should continue to be a unifying theme for our community. Blue jays should have a blue color, but navy rather than royal since Nichols Career Center has used royal blue and white. Blue jay Royal blue and black Opposite of Jaybird (red and black) for new high school Blue jay Royal blue and black No matter which school students attend they will be a “jay” Blue jay Royal blue and black Black ties the two colors together. Use same JC oval symbol logo but blue instead of red. Blue Jays and Jays; everyone in JC gets to be a Jay!! Blue jay Sky Blue and Ice White Paralell to JCHS and similar color scheme. Blue jay Bright blue and black Similar to the red jays Blue Jays Royal Blue and Black I think it would be a good contrast to compliment the existing Jefferson City High School! Blue Jays Blue jay blue and black Both schools are Jays (shows unity) and both schools share Jays stadium — home of the Jays! Blue Jays Royal blue and white Keeping Jay Pride alive! Blue Jays Royal blue and Gold I think the committee should consider these options for a mascot and school colors because the other high school mascot is the Red Jays so I think the new high school should be the Blue Jays.I think the colors should be Royal Blue and Gold because blue goes with the Blue Jays and the Gold represents the power the blue jays have. Blue Jays Royal Blue and Black We already have the Red Bird as the JC mascot so we should stay with that idea and do Blue Jays and then Blue and Black instead of Red and Black Blue Jays Black and that blue that is a cross between navy and royal ??Jay Pride for ALL and no real reason for the colors other than they look good together. Blue Jays Royal Blue and White Complimentary of current JCPS mascot and colors Will have combination of red-white-blue colors in Capitol City Blue Jays Royal Blue and White It helps stick true to “jay pride” and solidifies that we are still operating as one. Blue Jays Royal blue and bright yellow I believe the similarity between the two high school mascots would promote a healthy rivalry between the schools. Blue Jays Royal Blue and White It’s close to Jay Birds Blue Jays Really any type of blue would work as long as it isn't very dark or very light. Somewhere in the middleI think they should because I think it's funny if we have Casper the Blue Jay and Jasper Blue Jays Royal Blue Jet black Everyone in JC can still be considered a Jay and the two colors blue and black compete with red and black! These suggestions offer competitiveness yet unity! Blue Jays Sky Blue and Black I think they should consider it because, as a current freshman and living less than a mile away from the school, I think it would be a fun idea to compare with our Jefferson City Jays (Red Birds). The mascot could also be named Casper rather than Jasper! Blue Jays Royal blue and black Since we have the JC Jays and the colors are red and black, Blue jays are similar to the current school mascot. Blue Jays Royal Blue and red and white My daughters would have been a 4th generation Jay. We are in the new school district area and so now that won’t happen. I realize we could move but that’s not that easy. If the mascot was a Blue Jay it would be similarly to a Jaybird. Please also consider allowing parents the choice to have their children attend either school like Columbia did 30-40 years ago. blue jays Navy Blue and Black It ties in with the high school now being the Jays and have Rad and Black colors. Blue Jays royal blue and black Because these choices make the two schools cordon are with each other and have them still somewhat United or connected in some way. Having these mascots will invoke a friendly/neighborly rivalry between the two schools and in way they are both still “Jays” Blue Jays Royal blue, black I think it goes well with the Jefferson City Jays theme! We’ve always been the Jay birds. I graduated from JC in 2015. I would love to see the Jays birds live on whether we’ve got two High Schools or just one. It’s only right to keep the theme going. Blue Jays Royal Blue & It would be nice that both schools had something in common, both be different types of Jay's for JC. Blue Jays Royal Blue and White we named the school "Capital High School" because we're the capital of Missouri and the state bird is the blue Jay Blue Jays Royal blue and black Still keeps some of the Jay pride present in new school Blue Jays Royal blue and red or Royal blue and whiteI think the Jays would represent Jefferson City whether the Red or Blue. For kids whose dream of becoming a Jay like family members of the past, the dream would be true regardless of which high school they attended. blue jays royal blue and white I think this would be cool, because it its similar and yet opposite of Jefferson City Jay Birds red and black. Blue Jays Powder blue and white The committee should consider these options for mascot because it keeps a tie it roots of Jefferson City School but also starts a new tradition. The school colors are in line with it feeder school of Thomas Jefferson Middle school. blue jays Then use Blue and silver It different then the Red Bird Jays and yet it unites them as one community. Bird have great eye sight and flock makes them community Blue Jays Royal blue and silver Fits with Jay birds theme and the colors work for a blue jay. Blue jays Powder blue and silver or blackIts something different but keeps the sister schools united in a way and it plays of the jchs red jays Blue jays Royal Blue & Black I believe it compliments our school district and city. Blue Jays Navy Blue and Gold I like them. Blue Jays Navy Blue and Black The name is similar to the Jefferson City Jay and the colors have the black in common.

Blue Jays Royal blue and Kelly In line with Jay name of original high school Blue jays Powder blue and black It's not only different from JCHS but it keeps it similar making the community in general one, the jays Blue Jays and Cream Good Meld, but yet a nice contrast with JC High. Blue jays Royal blue and white I think the blue jay would show unity with JCHS but also set itself apart Blue Jays Cobalt Blue Silver It would be tradition to keep a bird in the community and since we are working to keep the schools similar, one will be a Jaybird and one will be a Blue Jay. Blue Jays Blue jay blue and white Would be Jays and blue Jays keep it similar but different at the same time! Blue Jays Powder blue and dark blue Because it’s the opposite of JC Blue Jays Royal Blue and Black Keeps Jay pride united in the town...the red jays and the blue jays. Two separate entities...with a common identity. Blue Jays Royal Blue colors complete opposite of current high school, Blue Jay is too opposite of current Jays Blue jays Blue jay, white I like it Blue jays Royal blue and white It's consistent with jchs. Blue jays are also the state burd of MO. Blue & white match the blue jays &together with jchs red and black gives red white and blue. Blue jays Blue and white Together, JC High School and Capital City High School make red, white, and blue. Blue Jays Blue jay blue & white. Because jays have always been the school in jeff city, it should be Redbirds (original jays) and blue jays. Blue Jays Silver and royal blue There is no reason to split the mascots, we are one town. JC Jays, but blue this time! Blue Jays Cobalt blue and silver Keeps the unity between the 2 high school mascots and colors aren't already taken by a local highschool.

Blue Jays Cobalt blue and white It goes along with the Jaybird theme and the school colors would match the Blue Jay color. BLUE JAYS Royal blue and black Be a bird like other high school and patriotic color with black Blue Jays Black and royal blue It’s a very fitting compliment to the original JC Blue Jays Royal blue and white Since the two high schools are sister schools, the mascots both being birds is significant. Also the colors being blue and white is kind of complementary to the red and black without being the same. Blue Jays Light Blue/Royal Blue and WhiteSo all Jeff City kids can still grow up looking forward to being Jays, simple as that! The colors are less important in my opinion, as long as the name is right. Blue Jays Royal blue and white Since the 2nd high school will utilize Adkins Stadium, the signage and scoreboard could be updated to represent the Jaybirds and the Blue Jays. Blue Jays Baby blue and riptide white It would compliment the Jefferson City Jays. Blue Jays Royal Blue and White Helps maintain a district-wide theme of ‘Jays’ , while still being different enough to have its own identity. Blue and white colors are also appealing and easy to clothes shop for. Cougar Burgundy & Silver Absolute and foremost - this school should have a mascot and colors completely independent of the JCHS. This is not a sub- - it is its own stand alone school! Colors and mascot should both be something unique to the schools in the surrounding area. Cougar Black and Orange Capital City Cougars has a great sound to it! Cougar Baby blue and silver Capital City Cougars is a good comparison to Jeff City Jays and blue and silver are good colors for Cougars. Also there have been several mysterious “mountain lion” “cougar” sightings in Missouri Cougar royal blue and white A cougar is powerful and nimble. Royal blue and white are good colors for the school. They're attractive and easy to match for parents. Cougar Royal Blue and White Completely different mascot from JC and keeps a separate identity for each building. Cougar reddish and light pinkish greyThe word ' cougar' is easily said with the school name, Capital City High School. The colors would be suggestive of the colors found in the animal. cougar Midnight Black Apple Red If you all decide on the Cobras, it will be symetrical with the name Capital City. (CCC) . It will also be a nice chant. C-O-B....R-A-S! Nice flow to it! It's still keeping with the red/black colors as the Jays. Cougar Purple and Gold 1. Good contrast with JC Jays 2. Gold matches the cougar color 3. Purple is a royal color that would be appropriate for a Capital City Cougar Dark purple and gold Capital City Cougars has a great ring to it. And purple is not a color used around local schools. It would be different. cougar red and white Red and white were used the past for the Simonsen Cubs and would continue a tradition. Cougar Burnt Orange and Silver Cougars are strong animals. The femails are powerful, intuitive and strong. They defend their young, just like the Cougars would defend Capital City High School. They are leaders and take charge of their own lives. Like the citizens of Jefferson City are doing for our young by building a new high school. The Capital City Cougars not only sounds intimidating to opponents but also stucks with the cities theme of having a mascot that begins with the same letter as the school name. Burnt Orange and Silver would be excellent options for school colors as they contrast well with JC and the rent aren't any schools with burnt orange and silver near the Capital City. It also separates the new school from old in having a totally different color scheme. Cougar Black and Cougars embody power, dignity, and grace. This symbol can identify with students as a source of strength and leadership with appropriate elegance/sophistication necessary for current and future endeavors. Even through hard times, a cat always lands on its feet. Black/maroon colors both identify powerfully. Black can be represented as power, elegance, sophistication, and formality. Maroon invokes courage, strength, and truth. This color combination can enforce the ideals of the Cougar symbol. Cougar Golden yellow and black Capital City Cougars sounds good together. It is a strong and fierce animal #JCStrong Cougar Dark purple and white It's a color combination I don't immediately associate with another school close by. Cougar Teal and grey Capital Coty and Cougars start with a “C” Cougar Black and royal blue Why not Cougar Purple and gold Cougars/Mountain Lions are found in Missouri. The word "cougar" is alliterative with "capital." The colors are completely different from the other schools and very rich. Cougar Navy blue, sterling silver, and goldI think Blue Jays would be a nice contrast to Jays and I think Cougar because I feel that Capital City Cougars has a nice ring to it. I was also think navy blue, silver and gold because it would be in contrast from the red, white and black of JCHS. I think those are also Helias’ colors, but they’re suitable. Cougar Orange and Royal Blue Orange and Navy Blue would be similar to the red and black while giving the new school its own identity. Cougar is another name for a mountain lion and since the school will be on the bluff it would be a fitting mascot. Cougar Royal Blue and Corn Gold It’s a good name the works well and the colors will go good Cougar Burgundy and mustard yellow Completely different than JC Jay Birds. Love the color combination and the flow of the name with the mascot. Cougar Black and silver Capital City cougar has a nice ring. CCC or triple C has a fun sound for cheering and after reviewing all the mascots for the whole state- there are very few cougar mascots so it would be unique. It can’t be a bird of any kind nor a mascot similar to MU or other nearby schools. Same with the colors. Unique combo and not like any of our rivals. Cougar Royal blue and silver Mascot that begins with a “C” flows well with the new high school name. Cougars Royal blue and grey I like the idea of it. Cougars Black and gold Capital City Cougars has the alliteration going. And it also allows the new high school to have ITS OWN IDENTITY, as opposed to going with something like Blue Jays that treats the new school as an afterthought. ("Hey, let's take the JCHS mascot & recolor it!") Cougars Carolina Blue/Black Not a bird Cougars Maroon and Gray Capital City Cougars...CCC sounds good like Jefferson City Jays. Maroon is a shade of red. Gray and black are both neutral colors.

Cougars Royal Blue and Black LCMS colors are Red/Yellow and JC is Red/Black so they have Red in common. TJMS is Blue/Red so CC would be Blue/Black so they would have Blue in common. JC Jaybirds has J's so CC Cougars would have C's. Cougars Black and Gold Capital City Cougars is just catchy and I think it would be a good mascot. The colors stand out from Jefferson City High School and gold would go well with black and the cougars mascot Cougars Columbia blue & maroon IMO, the color combination is unique in our area and very pleasing to the eye. The mascot is alliterative, if not as quite as unique as the color combination. Cougars tawny brown & silver gray Capital City Cougars has a good ring to it. Plus you can use the cougar paw print on logos. They are known to be agile and powerful! COUGARS GOLD AND WHITE I would like to keep with the C's. Capital City Cougars! Cougars Silvery-grey and Royal Blue Bobcats are native to Missouri and their coats are silvery grey and eyes are blue. Cougars yellow gold & black Different from red & black used in town. I like the sound of using 2 C's....Capital Cougars. Cougars are wild and tough! Cougars deep purple and sunshine yellowthe c in cougar goes with the c and c in capiton city and i think the colors will stand out well on the playing fields and courts Cougars Silver and royal blue My daughters will be the first freshman and sophomore classes and suggested it. They think Capital City Cougars sounds great, is a great fighting/courageous team name, and is unique to high schools in this area. Royal blue and silver would look great on jerseys and give the school its own theme and identity rather than being a variation of JCHS mascot and colors. Cougars Black and Grey . Cougars Royal Blue and Black Cougars- because alliteration Colors- because they look nice Cougars Navy Blue & Silver Looks and sounds good Cougars Kelly Green and White Another bird like the JC Jays and colors are opposite to distinguish from the other high school Cougars Royal Blue and Bright Orange Cougars are in Missouri--noble animal. Colors would contrast from area schools. COUGARS Black&Gray It's a good name that goes with Capitol City. These 2 colors are tough sounding colors for football. Cougars Royal blue and white I think that either the Capital City Cubs or Cougars because it mimics the sound of Jefferson City Jays but still distinguishes from the original school. I think that blue and white would be good because again it is a simmilar idea as JC (the primary color thing) but will not be mixed up with JC. Also no schools in the area have those mascots and colors. :) cougars Royal Blue / Black cougars sounds good with School name ...the color goes along with red/black the other school Cougars Royal Purple and Black The cougar is one of the most majestic animals in the jungle. They're fast and strong, and represent Jefferson City well. The colors represent the royalty and high standard that Jefferson City students hold in the state. To my believing. Cougars Blood red and Deep gold Capital City Cougars rolls off the tongue, sounding good. The name could be identified as C3 (with 3 offset higher) on uniforms, programs, hallways, etc. Cougars Silver gray, and dark red I think the Cougars fits well with the name Capital city. Capital City Cougars High school Cougars Powder blue and white and blackNo reason Cougars Royal blue and black Capital City Cougars rolls off the tongue nicely. Blue for the Missouri river and black as a complementary color. Cougars Royal blue and silver Alliteration—Capital City Cougars— is snappy, fun & memorable! Lots of colors could go with this suggestion. Cougars Green and gold Because they're awesome Cougars tawny and dark brown Cougars are fierce competitors. Usually the color of light brownish tan to dark brown. Cougars Maroon and White Different from other surrounding schools. Capital City Cougars has a nice ring to it. Cougars Bright Royal blue and white I thought of cougars to go along with Capital City “Cougars” and the colors are a “refreshing, happy cheerful” color for a new beginning for our new school. Cougars Powder blue/red I think the mascot should start with a C to go with Capital City. Having seen the color scheme powder blue/ red at both Webb City and Springfield Glendale they look very sharpe together and you could use multiple color schemes for athletic uniforms. Cougars Orange, navy blue I feel the colors and mascot should not be anything close to JCHS. Stay away from a bird mascot. I don't think any schools close have these color combos or mascot. Cougars Navy Blue and White Go in opposite direction of colors for JCHS. Cougars Navy Blue/white Capital City Cougars. The colors are patriotic and Jefferson city is the state capital. Cougars Royal blue/ gold I think capital city cougars is a wonderful idea. Cougars are strong, mysterious and charismatic animals that people marvel over. The colors represent a standard of leadership and royalty which our kids should initiate always. Cougars Royal blue and Silver No local school has this combo and CC COUGARS just goes together. ?? Cougars Black/Gold I think it represents being strong and courageous, plus leadership. Plus love the colors! Cougars Navy blue and silver I think it would be a nice color scheme also the cougars is nice alliteration with Capital City Cougars Orange and black Because cougars are intimidating and you could make a cool logo. The colors of orange and black are different than other schools in the area. Cougars Navy blue/silver Sound good with Capital City and colors are starkly different from the Jays Cougars Orange and White Cougars seems to go good with Capital City. Orange and White would distinguish the colors from the colors used by the other high schools in Jefferson City. Cougars Navy Blue and Silver It was my 11 year old son's idea and he likes the sound of Capital City Cougars. Cougars Gray & Royal blue Bc It is catchy & green is out bc of Blair Oaks, Red is JC, so blue it is;) Cougars Navy blue and gold Jefferson City Jay's and Capital City Cougars go well because of the alliteration between JC Jay's and CC Cougars. I suggested the blue as it represents trust, confidence, knowledge, and loyalty while gold represents love and courage. I was also thinking of a way to pull in colors from both the schools to represent state teams. Black and gold for MU; Red for Cardinals and Blue for Royals. The colors would also be distinguishable between the two schools should they compete on the fields or in courts. Cougars Navy blue and silver Set the school apart from the other JC high Cougars Black and yellow The colors are associated with a cougar. Capital city cougars sounds good Cougars Royal Blue and Cardinal Red This would allow for the same color combination to continue on from Thomas Jefferson

Cougars Burgundy and Gold Capital City Cougars has a nice ring to it and there aren’t any other high schools in the area with burgundy and gold as their school colors. Cougars Black & The colors are great together. Capital City Cougars sounds great!!! Cougars Royal Blue & Silver Not another HS with that name in area, it sounds great with Capital City. Colors are exact opposite of Jeff City Jays red & black plus different from Helias. Cougars Navy blue and gold Cougars are a native Missouri animal, they are fast, stealthy and fierce, and it starts with a C so it just rolls off the tongue - Capital City Cougars! Cougars Carolina blue and silver Just an idea for something different. Jefferson city Jays both start with J, Capital City Cougar both start with C. Cougars Navy blue and silver Capital city cougars sounds neat Cougars Silver and Black Capital City Cougars sounds good. Black and Silver because no team in the area has it and it looks good on uniforms Cougars Royal blue primary color Cardinal red accent No local high school has a cougar mascot. Colors are a nice transition from Thomas Jefferson Middle School to Capital City High School; and JC Administration can wear red to represent both high schools. Cougars navy Blue and Crimson Red Cougars because it goes well Navy blue and Crimson Red (one color from each of the existing high schools). Also because its "capital high" it looks a little bit of Americana. Cougars powder blue and black cougars rhymes well with capital city and you could call them cougars for short (go cougs) and black and powder blue contrast well Cougars Orange and Black Our motto is stronger together; this is a strong, fast, fierce animal but even more than that; this animal is known by several names: bobcat; puma; mountain lion etc but is still one animal. Pulling all of our diversity together we are all still united as one town, one community, one school district etc. We are stronger together. (Could have picked bobcats and done yellow/black--but cougar starts with a C!! ) Cougars Silvery grey and black Capital City Cougars sounds fierce. It also flows well when you say it. The colors are similar to that of a cougar. Cougars Orange and black No such colors in the area and it would work with a cougar mascot Cougars Royal Blue/Silver/Black Cougars are native to the area, both Cougars and the colors are different than JC, and it sounds pretty good...Capital City High School Cougars!!!! Cougars Navy blue and white I think this mascot fits with the name of the school and it’s a strong like us #strongertogether Cougars Royal Blue and Gold Alliteration for one: Captial City Cougars. Rolls off the tongue. A Royal Blue and gold are both symbolic of superiority and excellence, both concepts to strive for in education and life. Cougars gold, white nice alliteration -- Capital City Cougars Cougars Black and White Mascot fits with Capitol City. Colors just go together. cougars arctic blue, charcoal grey When I think of capital city i automatically thing of the cougars. It is a name with so much spirit in it. When I think of a cougar I think tough, fast, stealthy, and full of pride. I think that the cougars would be a perfect mascot for the new high school. I think that arctic blue and charcoal grey are such cool colors for a school. Not only do they look great together but all of the sports wear and uniforms would look soooooo good. Just think of Arctic blue, and charcoal grey football uniforms and cheer uniforms and t-shirts. Then with a grey or tan cougar on all of the sports wear. Please consider this very much because I think this would make our school look great. Cougars Royal blue and silver It’s different from the other high schools in town. Capital city cougars sounds nice and no schools nearby have blue and silver colors. Cougars Royal blue & gold Cougars starts w/C as Capital City does & Royal Blue isn’t close to JC Jays red Cougars Black and Gold Capital City Cougars sound Great!! put together. I think Cougars are eye catching and appealing to everyone. The are beautiful animals and unforgettable. Black and Gold will go great with the Black and Red of our JC Jays!!!! Cougars Black and Gold Capital city cougars just rolls off your lips! Cougars Navy and silver Capital City Cougars sounds awesome!! Cougars Dark blue yellow and white. Like the saint Louis Blues Has been a few mountain lion sightings though out the past few years. Every gets excited when they see a cougar. Cougars Brown and yellow I think it sounds good cougars forest green and black I believe ‘Capital City Cougars’ has a nice ring to it Cougars Orange and brown Capital city cougars sounds the same way jeff city jays does. Rolls together Courgars Orange/black Capital city courgars has a good ring to it. Many traveling teams in jeff city have the colors orange/black and it looks sharp Courgars Matte black and turquoise blueI think they should pick these options because, the name is not oringinal, and the colors aren't either. Cougars Burgundy and Battleship Grey I like the sound of the Capital City Cougars. Cougars navy blue and gold Capital City Cougars (C.C.C.) The colors look good together Cougars black and gold Alliteration with high school name, uniqueness of mascot name in the area (to my knowledge at least), association with Mizzou on colors/cat mascot Cougars Royal blue and light brown and whitecapital city cougars has a nice ring to it. the Royal blue with a light brown or gold for the color of the cougar. Cougars dark purple/gold The dark purple & gold are bold colors & the cougar is a strong animal. Bold & Strong! I also like the way the name sounds Capital City Cougars! Cougars Red PMS 186C and silver-gray PMS Cool Gray 8CCougars sounds good with Capitol City; "Capital City Cougars." Cougars roam North America, they are strong, fast, and powerful. The color red is part of JC High School, making a connection between the two high schools. The Cougar can be a fun and likeable mascot and can be a fun tie-in with the J-Birds.

Eagle black/white The colors are not that important to me. Since we live on the river and have been seeing an increase of the eagle population I feel it would be appropriate. Eagle Blue & red (colors in flag) Given this is the capital city high school it should represent what our state & nation stand for. Eagle Matte Black and outlined with Gloss Black with White The Bald Eagle represent , strength, power and freedom. That's what Americans stand up for at all cost. eagle Red and black I do not know. Eagle blue and green I think the mascot should be an Eagle because it is posing for our school. the colors because the shows where strong and proud to me. Eagle Black and Red The eagle represents america and black and red are cool colors. eagle Light red with light grey i think the committee should consider these options becasue light grey looks nice with red plus no school uses with 2 colors.

Eagle Red White and Blue Capitol City Patriotic Respect for God Country in these times of upheaval in school systems Eagle Black and Gold I like the idea of the eagle because they do migrate to Missouri. Eagles are significant for freedom and courage to look ahead. The eagle is also symbolic of the importance of honesty and truthful principles which I believe should be examples of our students. The colors I chose are black and gold because the eagle is mostly black with a gold beak. Its neck is white which is another color that could be incorporated in apparel and other sports related materials. Eagle Baby blue Light green Cause green and baby blue are two colors that would look good together. We already have a red bird so stick with the birds theme. Eagle Royal Blue Red I thought another bird mascot would be great to go along with the jeff city jaybirds. Eagles are majestic and strong. And red, white and blue are colors that go along with the eagle, our country’s symbol. Eagle Red,white and blue The Eagle and the colors both represent our country as well as are the same colors for Thomas Jefferson Middle School. These colors allow the connecting middle school colors to represent the future high school the students will attend. Eagle Red, white and blue They are good and represents all. Eagle black and gold bald eagle represents the nation/government and signifies JC as our state seat. also compliments the name Capital City HS. black and gold would be appropriate colors for an eagle. Eagle Soft light colored purple Medium colored silverBecause there are too many other colors out there already. eagle RED WHITE BLUE i think it fits well with the Jefferson city public schools "capitol city high school eagles" the bird is a strong hunter, and fights till the end. Eagle Black/Silver Eagle-Majestic Black/Silver-Classy stand out Eagle Green & Black Eagle is a bird like the jay bird and taking one of the colors from the current high school and combining it with another color - black & green. Eagles are around the river, they can be seen in the winter especially when the leaves are off the trees. Eagle Bright red and navy blue Capital City High should have a powerful Mascot with colors to match. Eagle Royal Blue and Black With the JCHS mascot of a jay bird, an eagle would be similar yet different, complimenting the two schools. And royal blue would make the two schools’ colors very different, but with the common color of black. Eagle Maroon and white I think it represents the school pride and bravery. At the same time it follows the monthly characteristics Eagle Cherry Red and Royal Blue American Pride Eagle Navy blue and gold Eagles are strong, powerful, and represent our country. Eagle Black and white Both high schools would be birds. If eagle is the mascot then black and white is just logical Eagle Flag blue and grey Connection to Capital City theme Eagle Navy Blue and Red They’re patriotic Eagle Primary red and blue with white We are the Capitol city and it needs to be a mascot that reflects that. We don’t need another cartoon character. Eagle Med grey and white Proud, strong, and soars with a vision of excellence over students that are stronger together along with staff and community. Eagle Flag Blue and Grey Something that links to the Capital City theme. Eagle Black and Gold I think JC should continue with a bird theme and what better than an Eagle. Eagle Gold and Black - prestigious colors to go with the Capital name and also compliments JCHS Red and Black. The eagle represents stength, unity, and opportunity. Gold and black are prestigious colors which also compliment the red and black of JCHS. Eagle Gold and Black Eagle’s show strength and dedication, Black and gold show contrast. Gold shows a winning school! Eagle Old Glory Red & Old Glory Blue The high school name is Capital City High School, it would be going with a theme of the United States. Very patriotic, showing the colors of the flag and our nations bird. Eagle red, gold, and navy blue (from the flag)the eagle and the bear are both part of the state seal of Missouri. As the school is Capital City High School, it seems a reference to the state flag would be appropriate. Eagles I think the colors for the new high school should be Red and Gold.I think the mascot should be the Golden Eagle. I think this bird should be the Golden Eagle because this powerful eagle is North America's largest bird of prey. They are extremely swift, ( great for track by the way)and can dive upon their quarry at speeds of more than 150 per hour ( again we should should be this animal becuse we are gonn be FAST). I think the school colors should be Red and Gold. Eagles Navy Blue and Silver The Eagle is a patriotic symbol and goes with the patriotic theme of the middle schools. The colors are a combination not used in area schools. Eagles pale blue and silver With the name being "Capital City High School" the mascot for our new high school must be extraordinary. The idea of an eagle came to me when I thought about what mascot should represent the capital city. The bald eagle is America's national bird so it seemed like the best match. I can just imagine it... the pale blue and silver eagles on shirts, walls, posters, websites. I chose the colors by first eliminating all the colors for schools around us. For example, because of Helias, JC, and Bair Oaks, the colors couldn't be navy, gold, red, or dark green. Light blue and silver seemed perfect and couldn't represent the eagles any better. Furthermore, because JC's mascot is Jasper the Jay Bird it would cool to have two birds as rivals. Also, the Eagles won the Superbowl sooo... Eagles royal blue and black the eagle is a majestic bird and would represent us well. royal blue is a bright, brilliant color Eagles golden brown and white We called the school Capital so let's use the American Bald Eagle as our mascot. It denotes strength, resilience, peace, and grace. Qualities that I hope we will see in the students who will be attending the new high school. I also hope that having two high schools will not divide and create problems in the community. Eagles Navy blue and gold Both high schools having a bird mascot would create a unity between the two schools which is necessary with this introduction Eagles Navy blue and gold Since JCHS are jays and Blair Oaks are Falcons it seems like birds of prey all go well together. Also the Eagle is a good mascot for Capitol City high school being that Jefferson City is the capitol of Missouri and eagle is the symbol of the US Eagles Royal Blue American Red WhiteBecause the High School name is Capital City High School, it’s needs to be patriotic of the colors & mascot Eagles Crimson and white Eagle is a strong bird native to Missouri. Red would continue with the two middle schools and current high school to have one intertwined color. Eagles Royal Blue and White Capital City Eagles because of the proximity to the Missouri River. Eagles Navy Blue and Silver I think the Eagle goes well with the name of the school and links the 2 High schools with them both having a bird mascot. The colors I think would look great on any type of uniform or apparel. Go Eagles!!!! Eagles Gold and black When you see a picture of a Golden Eagle you see strength and determination. Which I believe are 2 things you want in your mascot. The colors gold and black go with the colors of the Golden Eagle. I personally would like to see the new school stay in the same “theme” with JC. I think it helps keep us tied together even though they will be competitive with one another. Eagles Green and white The eagle is a majestic bird symbolizing strength and honor. It also pairs well with our Jaybird mascot at JC. Can’t give a good reason for the color choice....just personal. Eagles Silver and royal blue The eagle is a national symbol. Since our school is titled Capital High School I think they go well together. Silver and Royal blue are patriotic colors. eagles navy blue and white Capital City mascot needs to be a strong symbol reflecting our community, state, and nation. Eagles Navy blue and red Since the school represents the capitol, with it's name, the school colors should reflect the colors of the American flag and the mascot should represent the national bird. Also, the Eagle is very prominent in this area Eagles Red and Black The eagle with its keen eyes symbolizes perspicacity, courage, strength and immortality, but is also considered "king of the skies" and messenger of the highest gods. With these attributed qualities the eagle became a symbol of power and strength in Ancient Rome. Red White and Black because most people can agree on them!!

Eagles Black and Gold The capitol city needs a patriotic mascot. The bird theme also complements the other high school with the Jays mascot. I originally considered colors of red, white and blue, but thought it might be a bit much, so thought black and gold was a good 2nd choice, plus thought it was a bold choice and complemented other school that has black and red. Eagles Blue and white Like them Eagles Royal blue and white The Eagle is majestic and speaks for itself. Blue and silver are classics and complete opposite of Jays' red and black. Eagles Maroon and gray. Shades of red and black. "JC team"; two distinct entities coming together as one.Sorry, I included my reasons with my suggestions above. Eagles Line green White The district needs something new and unique. It’s a new school so it should have its own identity. Eagles Royal Blue and Black They're unique Eagles Dark Purple / Gold Our Nation❤ Eagles Gold and Black The Eagle is a symbolic bird for strength, power, and keenness. Eagles Red and Navy (maybe a maroon so not quite jay red)Love two birds one town! Stronger together! Eagles Candy red Navy blue They go together well and they fit with the bird theme of the Jay birds Eagles Purple and gold They are pretty Eagles golden eagles Eagles Gold and Black Majestic eagles as a representation of capital city - gold and Black (and white) reflect majesty and are clean bold colors Eagles Royal Purple & Gold Eagles are fearless, tenacious, and high flyers. Everything that we hope enbodies the charactetics of our students. Purple and gold are two colors that reflect achievement and success. Eagles Royal blue and white. I think we should stick to the bird theme. JC is the Jays and CC should be the Eagles. Eagles Good and sky blue. Eagle to coincide the bird them with other high school. Sky blue, because eagles fly in the sky. Gold to show the power and strength. Eagles White and Blue The eagle is another bird mascot to go along with the Jaybird. Blue and white is opposite from red and black. Eagles Purple and teal Lime green and navy blue Silver and black They are not colors or teams we have in the areas or surrounding areas. Eagles Burgundy and black Eagles are a majestic bird. They are seen flying over the Missouri River by people who have offices in the Capital. The soar above! Burgundy is not used by any other school in Cole County. Golden Eagle Gold and white The name capital city invokes a mascot that needs to be Noble. I think golden eagle represents that well Golden Eagles Maroon and Gold I chose Golden Eagles for several reasons: Golden Eagles soar and we want our students to soar in their academic, athletic and club endeavors. The Golden Eagle is a symbol of strength and we want our students to develop strength of character as they study and grow. We think of the enormous wingspan of the Golden Eagle and we can see it protect and embrace all of our students during their years at Capital City High School. I chose gold to complement the mascot name and combine the gold with maroon because it is pleasing to the eye, bright and attactive and is not a color combination that is used by many local schools in our area. Golden Eagles Gold and Black Capitol City Eagle Royal Blue and Silver Eagle: maintains the aviary theme, is the national bird and a good choice to represent any capital - especially a Capital City HS. Royal & Silver: good contrast with JCHS - Royal blue is a bright color that would be distinctively different from Helias' darker blue, and Silver would be a good neutral and also be different from Helias. Plus - accent colors of white, black or shiny yellow/gold would look great with Royal & Silver. EAGLES COLORS OF MISSOURI FLAG The new high school's chosen name--Capital City, is representative of Missouri's State Capitol. As such I feel its mascot (EAGLES) and school colors (COLORS OF MISSOURI FLAG) would reflect a patriotic theme emphasizing the importance of early student involvement in citizenship toward individual responsibilities as tomorrow's leaders. Students need a strong sense of sacrifices made to better understand that freedom is not free. In so doing, it is the responsibility of us all to protect our history from being rewritten. Landmarks should not be removed or otherwise destroyed because of their names but left to stand as a reminder not to repeat mistakes of the past. Thanks for the opportunity; B.J. Schubert, 636-3504

Bear Royal blue and bright orange Bear on state seal Bear Powder blue and red Keeping with the state theme. Bear Navy blue, light grey Because theyre pretty Bear Gold and navy blue I think it would be perfect since the bear is on the flag of Missouri and the colors go great with each other Bear Midnight Blue and White The name of the school is Capital City HS, we have bears represented on our flag and one downtown, the colors are just a nice combo. Bear Red and Gold Bears are in the State Seal here in the Capital City. Red ties the school to the other high school and Gold makes them seperate and distinct. Bear Evergreen and gold I think you could have the bear in the background brown, and the bears logo and school logo green and gold. Bears are on the seal of Missouri in the Capital. Since we are Capital City High. Bear Brown and white The Bear's is a name that was used a few years back when JC still had a Junior College. I believe it would be a good to revive it, and keep it in the city. I can't think of another High School that uses the Bear Mascot. Bear Gold The Capitol City Bears the Missouri Seal has two bears. Bear Yellow/White The Bear is on the Missouri State Seal and Yellow and White uniforms looks cool. Bear Black and bright yellow Bear because on our state flag, we have a bear. Black and yellow because black is one of the colors for JCHS and yellow gives Capital City HS its own branch Bear Black and royal blue Bears are fierce and protect what is theirs. They also are on the state seal, so it correlates with the “Capital City”. Bear Crimson red and a sparkly silverThe bear represents the bears circling the Missouri crest on the state flag. The sparkly silver represent the lights of Jefferson City, the Capital City. The Crimson red represents the color red on the state flag. Bear Gray and maroon A bear is on the MO flag, and I feel it respresents the capital city well. Bear Red, White, and Blue of the Missouri FlagAs the Capital City, we should enbrace our tie to the state Capitol building and state pride by using thigs from the state flag to create our identity. BEAR Brown and white? Since the bear is represented on our state flag. Bearcats Maroon and white Bearcats is something different. Most schools are called tigers or Indians. Bearcats Navy blue and fire engine red Its a combonation of helias and jc to connect all the schools as a symbol we are all together for education. The mascot because the bear is on the state flag but bear cat to differ between the rockbridge bruinss Bearcats Royal Blue and Black Bearcats is the mascot where my son plays college football and he was a proud Jeff City Jay football player. Colors are for my boys of blue KC Royals

Bearcats Burgundy and white Because Jeff City already has a Jay bird and crusader for the high school and this is something different! And the colors i have suggested are also different from Helias navy/gold and JCHS red/black. Bears Royal blue and white. For vigilance justice and purity.Capital City High is the perfect place to represent the symbols of the State's flag. Bears crimson red and charcoal Bears is the mascot used by the former Junior College. Would connect the legacy. Two other names would be Governors for being in the Capital City, and Cardinals similar to Raytown, continuity for the two schools. Red for continuity and charcoal as a contrast color. Bears Royal blue and cherry red. White can be used as an accent. The same exact colors as the Missouri flag.Jays have ruled for a while with their red, white and black. Let the Capitol City Bears represent the State of Missouri with blue, red and white...the flag colors with a history to Missouri. Bears red white and blue It represents our flag and the bears represents our state seal Bears Tiger Orange and Golden Glow brute YellowBear is from Missouri flag which is everywhere in the Capital City. We like the orange and yellow because It is unique plus it’s the color leaves turn in the fall and there are a lot of trees around the new school site. Bears Red White and Blue like the State of Missouri flagIt would work easily with the name of the high school. Bears Red (same red as the Jays) and Navy BlueMascot: Bears - Strong, non controversial, ties into our state flag Colors: Red and Navy Blue - Since they're sharing the JCHS stadium for awhile, it wouldn't feel so disconnected to CCHS if they had a shared color; Red. Bears Brown and white The "bear" represents the bears on the Great Seal of the State of Missouri. The colors would match the color of the bears on the Seal. Bears Orange and black The seal of Missouri has two bears on it. Bears Brown and orange There are bears on our state emblem and that would go good with the name. They are brown bears so brown and orange. Bears Royal Blue and light Gray I think that we should avoid certain colors of other local schools and the bear is in the state flag. I don’t think we should be a jay or bird- have our own identity. Bears Maroon and black They look good Bears Emerald green and gold I don't really care about the colors but bears represent Missouri as a whole and since we are the capitol city....and I know are our official state animal but that would definitely cause a lot of "ass" jokes Bears Orange and white State animal Bears Purple and yellow Not many Bear mascots, something a bit different Bears Missouri flag blue Bc missouri Bears Brown and gold Because the bear is on the symbol of Missouri Bears Chocolate Brown and beige Because of the bears on the state flag which symbolize the strength and bravery of our state. Bears Royal blue and white. Not only does Capitol City Bears have a good ring to it, but one of Thomas Jefferson's favorite animals was bears. He even had two bear cubs as pets at one point. Seems fitting considering our city is named after him! As for the colors, I think they're a little more vibrant than the colors the schools in town currently use. Thank you for your consideration! Bears Burnt orange and Navy Blue Bears from the State Seal, works with the Capital City name. They are strong, intelligent and curious. They can be fun and furious. Bears Dark purple and canary yellow Bears since the bear is on the Missouri flag and purple and yellow because Callaway Hills color is purple Bears Royal Blue and White or Red The bear appears on the Missouri State Flag, it is a sign is strength and since the school name is Capital City Blue/white/red colors would be appropriate. Bears Purple/Grey Something completely different than JC Black Bear Black and Gold Two future student ideas after looking up about Missouri animals. We have the bear statue at the Jefferson Building. Grizzily Bear Umber Brown and parakeet greenI think the comittee should consider these options for a mascot and school colors because I think Bears represent the capability of suceeding in cathicng fish and very strong. I think the colors should be parakeet green and umber brown because umber Brown is the color of bears and parakeet green is the color of grass. Grizzleys Carolina Blue & Silver ( Color Scheme, includes black & white)Keeping with the theme of the school name honoring Jefferson City as the seat of government, the school mascot can recognize this honor by borrowing from Missouri's State Seal. The State Seal features two mighty grizzley bears guarding and supporting the center seal which includes emblems that signify the union of the 24th state with the federal government. A grizzley bear is also embedded within the center seal on the left side of the center emblem guarded by the grizzleys (the Missouri side of the emblem - the U.S. seal being on the right side). The bear symbol is meant to show strength and bravery, characteristics desirable, honorable, and fitting to instill in our students. Grizzlies Black and Gold The grizzly bear is on the state flag which keeps with the Capital City theme. Black and Gold doesn't compete with any local rivals and is the color of MU (the state university). Grizzlies Powder Blue and Red State bear on the flag. Red is synonymous with JC and is a color of both middle schools. Powder blue is a something unique to the area. Grizzlies Gray and navy blue At the capitol, there are two bears on the great seal. In addition a large grizzly bear that was put in front of the Jefferson street state office building was modeled after this. He was named “Mighty Mo” by his sculptor and symbolizes strength and courage. I believe this would be an extremely fitting mascot to represent the new high school here in the capital city. One of the colors should be gray, the color of the capitol building. Grizzlies powder blue, red, and white I believe the committee should consider this mascot because not only are there no other high schools in the state with the same mascot, but the grizzly bear stands as a symbol of courage and strength on our Missouri flag. I believe the courage and strength that the grizzliy stands for is a great thing to have representing your school. As for the colors, I have seen powder blue and red together on different banners/shirts and I think it’s a really cool combination that no one else has. Grizzlies State flag Blue White We are the Capital City - Look at the state flag. Blue, White. 2 grizzlies. Grizzlies Purple and Black The Grizzly is on the Missouri state flag and seal and there is no other "Grizzlies" in the state (that I could find). Grizzlies Black and silver The bear is on the state seal Grizzlies allows keeping with Capital theme while increasing presence. Black and silver are very complimentary and will work well for sports uniforms and upkeep of those things Grizzlies Royal Blue and White I don’t believe there is another high school with Grizzlies, and they are on our state flag. They stand for courage and strength. It could also be cool if the colors picked symbolized something unifying when combined with JCHS’s. Like red, white, and blue. Grizzlies Dark bark brown and white. Maybe a teal accent? Or a metallic like coppery brown with a dark teal accent. The bears come from the state seal, which is relevant since we are representing the Capital City. Brown for the bears and its a unique color for a school combo. I originally thought green and gray but with Blair Oaks being green already, I switched it to brown/coppery brown. Tough decisions! Grizzlies Royal Blue and Red The Grizzlies as the mascot because of the bears on the Missouri State flag and royal blue and red because of the colors on the Missouri State Flag. Very fitting for Capital City High School. grizzly bear I think your colors should be dark red and sunshine yellow because they are jcschools colors.very strong and they can beat a lot of other animals for prey, and they never give up. Your Committee should consider these options because you would have a very good mascot and very good colors that would look like a good combination. Grizzly Bear Grey and Royal Blue The Grizzly Bear is part of the Missouri State Seal and keeps with the theme of Capital City High School. Royal blue to represent the blue in the Missouri flag and seal. Grey because no other High school in JC has that combination. Grizzly Bear Black and emerald Green Grizzly bear is on the flag for the state of missouri and green is not used at either JC or Helias. Grizzly Bear Royal blue and Christmas Red The colors represent the Missouri state flag while the bear represents the Missouri state seal. Grizzly Bear Powder blue and red: Red is included on both middle schools and JCHS. Paying homage to our state seal and symbol of courage. Also continuing with the tradition of including red as one of the colors for JCPS Grizzly bears italic silver and red Why I think grizzly bears should be the mascot because it would be easy to say for some people and it makes sense. Why I picked italic silver and red is because red fits along with all the other Jefferson City schools. Grizzly Bears Royal purple and white Grizzly bears are on the state flag, so it’s a good representation for Capital City High School. There isn’t a school around here with those colors.

Grizzlys I think the scool colors should be royal blue, and shiny gold.I think that the mascot for the new highschool should be Capitol City (Grizzlys) because no one ever notices the bears on the state flag, and if the mascot of the new high school would be Grizzlys the people of Jefferson City would notice it more. I also think that the colors of the flag should be red, white, blue, and gold beecause they are the colors of the Missouri flag. Grizzlys Dark Brown and Silver I believe the Grizzly bear, because like the bear we as a community are strong, protective over our loved ones and our home. Dark Brown color because the color of the bear. Silver is a strong color and its also unisex so the yound men and ladys could wear those colors proud. Grizzly Bears Royal Blue Gray Mascot is a simple on our state flag representing the Capital city. The color combination is different than what the schools district has. Allows the school to stand out. Bear Dark Green, Bright Red I think you should consider my colors and my mascot because bears work hard to find food to eat and store. Just as we worked hard to get this high school built. I chose the colors because we rose out of the shadows (Dark Green)to come to good fortune(Red)with this new high school Bear Navy Blue and Red I believe the old Jr College mascot was the Bears and it is also on the state seal. Navy Blue and Red are also colors on our state seal. Kodiak bear gun metal grey and roadster redThe mascot name would be easy to pronounce and is fierce. The colors would go perfect on a field or court.

Cardinal Cardinal red and white Unity of students and community. A cardinal mascot with red and white colors will foster kinship between the two high schools (and city) while still providing distinction for each school. cardinal Red and White Cardinal is the State Bird and well loved in Missouri. Cardinal Red and white The mascot and school colors would compliment the school colors and mascot of JCHS Cardinal Red and White Goes good with Capital City and the other is red and black , red and white a good choice for the other school and the cardinal is red Cardinal Cardinal Red We can capitalize on the plethora of Cardinal gear already worn Cardinal Red and white JCHS is red/black, TJMS is red/blue, LCMS is red/gold, and when Simonsen colors were red/white. Keeps common color across both HS, and the first letter of Jays + Cardinals = J+C, our town initials as well. Cardinal Red and white Similar to other school and even though it is a 2nd high school I think the two should be similar. Cardinal Red and Black Keeping with the bird theme and current JC color theme Cardinal Red and blue It sticks with the c in Capital City High School. The red goes with the cardinal and the blue makes it more Missouri and American with red, white and blue in both flags. Cardinal Navy blue and white Keep birds as the theme for the high school mascots. And since JC jay birds are red and black which are colors you’d see on a cardinal why not do blue and white cardinal for capital city high school cardinals Royal blue with gold To remind new students a little bit about the old high school Cardinals Red and White Because it's a bird and it flows well with Capital City. (Capital City Cardinals). The color Red should be common throughout both high schools. Cardinals Red and White I think CCHS Cardinals sounds really great. Goes along with the theme like JCHS Jays and keeps the red color scheme. Ties everything together as a community. Cardinals Red and gold Keeping it with the same theme as the JC jay birds but different colors Cardinals Light Blue and Black The Cardinal references the St. Louis Baseball team, which also references Jefferson City's baseball and softball teams, two very successful sports. The colors reference the Blue Jay, the state bird, and the mascot of JCHS is the Jay, allowing for a parallel to be drawn between the colors and mascots of the schools, acknowledging the history they share, but allowing both the "fly" free of the past and make new starts and new identities. Blue is also a color of trust, loyalty, wisdom, and confidence. It is beneficial to the mind to be exposed to the color blue, as it very calming. Black is an absolute color, both strong and formal, and also looks really good with blue. Finally just as the "Jefferson City Jays" sounds nice, the "Capital City Cardinals" sounds nice as well. Cardinals Red for cardinal, royal blue backgroundJC is red and black. Keeping with the bird theme for mascot. A cardinal on a blue spirit stick. Cardinals Red and Navy Blue Since the current high school has a bird as a mascot, I believe that a Cardinal would be a fitting and appropriate mascot for the new high school. In addition, red represents the cardinal. Additionally, it would be great if both high schools could have a color in common, much like TJ and LC do. That common color the middle schools share is red, so it would be fitting that both high schools share the color red. I thought navy would go best with red, as the current high school uses black as an accent color. Yellow may be proposed, however, yellow is not an attractive color on many people. It also, when paired with red, make the color scheme match McDonalds. This is an unappealing color combination that I believe should be avoided, if at all possible. Cardinals Navy Blue or Jays Red Once a Jay always a Jay. If you use Navy and Jays Red they could still wear the Red Jays Wear. Cardinals Crimson Red and Metallic GoldIt sticks with the "C" theme Capital City Cardinals, and the bird theme of the public schools in the area. Cardinals Navy blue and the same red As JCHS. Keep the red in your high schools Keep the mascots as birds and use the same red to have some unity. I.e. rbhs, hhs, bhs use the same gold. Cardinals Red and Royal Blue Both schools would have a birds name. A cardinal is red, add Royal Blue then white as the 3rd color. Initials would be CCC. Very patriotic and easy colors to find and purchase in uniforms also. Cardinals Scarlet Red and Gold Capital City Cardinals its all in the 3 c's plus with the scarlet red and gold it will make everything shine Cardinals Cardinal Red Even though 2 distinctly different public High Schools within in our city it would be great to create similar mascots and colors for continuity as one community of public schools Cardinals Cardinal red and white It would provide cohesion between the new high school and the old high school to have similar colors and mascots. Cardinals Red & Blue - same colors as our state flagThe Cardinals have a very deep rooted tradition in our state. It would add instant credibility from that. Also, the school colors would be those of the state. Being in the state capital and the name of the school I feel it should continue to represent in the same manner. Cardinals Cardinal Red / White Another red bird to go along with the Fighting Jays. Cardinals Red and white Keep the two schools connected with color and closely matched mascots Cardinals Red and White To pay tribute to Simonsen and the colors it used to be and to keep and theme with a bird so that it ties into JC Cardinals Cardinal Red, White Jefferson City Jays Capital City Cardinals Red solidifies and pairs the two schools. Both are similar animals without over thinking the process. Cardinals Red and White (or Ivory)...the same red that JCHS uses JCHS Red&Black, CCHS Red&White, TJMS Red&Blue, LCMS Red&Gold, and I'm told that when my mother went to high school at Simonsen, the colors were Red & White. I think Red is an obvious choice. It keeps with the theme of the current middle and high schools. Pairing it with white would pay homage to city history with Simonsen colors, In addition, red would be the prevailing color at any sporting event, hopefully leading to a polite crosstown rivalry. Cardinals. It's a bird...it's red... the St Louis Cardinals are awesome.....and the city could do shirts sorta like the birds on the bat for the rivalry bragging rights game by putting the Jay and the Cardinal on a football field or a basketball court or maybe even something to do with the Capitol. I'd want one of those shirts (though you would need to make them in large enough sizes for everyone) and hey, Jays-Cardinals... J-C... Jefferson City Cardinals Red and gold Similar to the the jays but not exact. Cardinals is a very important Missouri team and CCC sounds good! Cardinals Cardinal Red. White. Positive image. Attractive color combination. Cardinals Red and white Another Bird name. Similar colors with red being for both high schools Cardinals Red and white Jeff city Jays has a ring to it. Mascot starts with a j as does the first letter of the school name. I thought the other should match that which would make it start with a C. Capital city Cardinals Cardinals Dark Red & Black I think Capital City Cardinals sounds like a good name, it rolls off the tongue easily. I also believe we should go with the same colors as the old highschool to keep the tradition on going. Cardinals Cardinal red and white It is a bird like the Jays and the red ties it in with JCHS. Cardinals Deep Red and Pure White Jefferson City is this States' Capital. makes sense to have the mascot be the State bird...Cardinal. Go JC Cardinals!!

Cardinals Red and White I think it should be the same red as the Jays to keep the city unified and easier to support both schools. Cardinals are another bird species, again similar unity. Capitol City Cardinals sounds amazing for alliteration and cheers. Cardinals Cardinal Red & White I like the iteration with the "C" and continuing the "Stronger Together" theme by keeping with the strong bird mascots, red color, & iteration (Jeff City Jays) to bring the two school communities together. Cardinals Orange and Black We currently use local schools using colors such as red, navy, gold, green, blue. Orange and black would be something different for this area, Would like to the the mascot be similar to that of JCHS to continue with tradition Cardinals Brick Red and Medium-Dark GrayCC Cardinals sounds good, a bird to compliment the Jaybird; these colors would also compliment the current JC colors and work well with the current district logo. Cardinals Red and Gold Cardinals go well with Jays. Cardinals are red and gold is a first place color.

Senators Kelly green and black Capital City Senators has a nice ring to it. Black\green is a good color combination. Senators cardinal red and royal blue - for Republicans & DemocratsJefferson City is the seat of our state government Senators Navy and red Being the Capital city and being named as such, senators seems appropriate. Senators Royal Blue and white Location in the political capital. The colors connote power and make a nice contrast with the extant HS in town. Also, there's a not-so-subtle connection to a popular professional baseball team of which many in the area are fans. Senators Royal Blue and Gold Obvious Senators Royal Blue and Crimson Red The name Capital City bears a heavy burden. Not only does the name of the new school represent a new era for JCPS but it loudly proclaims to the world that its home is in the Capital city of Missouri. With that responsibility on its shoulders, the new school should proudly embrace their origin and show their appreciation for being located in such an important Missouri city. Incorporating part of the duties the Capital city is responsible for conducting in the name of our new school seems like the perfect piece to the puzzle. The Capital City Senators boldly wear royal blue and crimson red to show that they are loyal, unwavering, passionate leaders who will stop at nothing to achieve success. Senators Resolution Blue and Silver SandIn keeping with the Capital City name, I felt a reference to our governing bodies might be appropriate. I chose Senators over Governors since the former name evokes our legislative body as a community instead of our executive as singular individuals. Since JCHS already uses red as a base color, blue provides a nice contrast - Resolution Blue is a dark blue suitable for a school color (and the name meshes well, resolutions being something that our senators often debate). To offset such a dark color, a lighter one is in order; instead of going for white or gray, I elected for Silver Sand, a lighter silver that works well with Resolution Blue. Senators Royal blue and White Not closely related to the existing mascot or colors for JCHS, makes sense with "Capital" in the name. Senators Jeff City Red, Snow White and Navy BlueSenators would be a unique mascot for a Missouri High School and would pay homage to the Official State Business that is conducted here in Jeff City in the Capitol Building every day. Senators Silver and navy blue It helps the new school standout from JCHS with new colors and the mascot is a direct tie to the thing that makes Jeff city unique - the state government. Senators Black and gold like the gold of the Saints pro football teamI believe the name is befitting the capital city and the legislature that represents the state of Missouri. Senators Royal blue, corn yellow, merlot redThe senators really fits into the "capital" theme. The colors have variations of both JCHS and Helias colors. It might be nice to keep those colors tied together for Jefferson City pride. Senators Royal Blue Cardinal Red With Jefferson City being the state capital and the high school named accordingly, there is nothing better to represent both of those things than Senators wearing red and blue to pay homage to unity for all political parties! Senators orange and carolina blue Mascot pays homage to the Capital and the history of the city. Colors are unique, no one around has that scheme. Senators Navy Blue, Red, Gray I think it is a great representation of our capital city as a whole that fits well wth the new school name Senators Navy blue and red I believe since Capital City became the new name then it should have a slightly political theme. Hence, The Senators with the blue and red colors. I would also add in white. Senators Royal Blue It coincides with the “Capital City” . Senators Black and Gold Jefferson City is the Capital of Missouri. The Senators all gather in the city to make laws for the people. You named the school Capital City so why not fill it with the Senators. Senators Black and Gold Capital City theme Senators Navy Blue and White It’s the capital/capitol City. Senators seems fitting. Senators Navy blue and silver I believe that The Senators is fitting considering Jefferson city is the capitol of Missouri and navy blue is such a warm, rich color. Senators Royal Blue and Red Links the school to the community being he capital and city and to the name of the school. Also gives it individuality from the old high school avoiding another bird. They need their or identity!! Senators Red, white, and blue (The colors of the state flag and they are shared colors with JC High & Helias)The colors are from the state flag and are shared with jc (red) and Helias (blue). Senators Black and gold and white Appropriate to fit with the theme of the capitol Senators Royal blue and white Reflective of Jefferson City, Strong connotation, something different, not used in central Missouri Senators Navy blue and light gray It is the capital city and we have senators and representatives in the Capitol. JCHS has the red. This could have the blue for the Missouri flag. I thought about white also...for a red, white, and blue tie-in. I went with a light gray suggestion because white gets dirty and sometimes looks like light gray. :-) Senators Black and light royal blue (TJ colors are red and blue so this would take a color from them, plus the black color from JCHS) but don't want the blue too dark or it will blend into the black. Either that or skip the black and go for total opposite with white and TJMS's royal bluecapital theme Senators Royal blue and ruby red Senators is a play on the work that is done in the capitol city of JC and red and blue are colors that pay homage to JCPS historically but add something new to the district. Senators Powder blue and white The comitte should consider these options because the senators are a great representation of why Jefferson City is important. Also the color scheme is unique and isnt like any other color scheme in the area. Senators Jay bird Red & Royal Blue Blue It’s very fitting being that we are named Capital City High School. Senators Black and Gold The capital of the state should reflect the history of our city and the political basis of Jefferson City. Senators Navy blue and white “Senators” fits with the Capital City theme. The colors complement the red and white of the existing JC High. Senators Navy Blue and Solid Red (Rose) I think since the name of the school is, "Capitol City" then the mascot has to be representative of something unique to Jefferson City and that is the Capitol itself and the legislature. Thus the mascot and color scheme should be representative of the American Democratic system and should be something catchy that can be said when sports teams travel and compete. Senators Purple and silver Something alittle different than surrounding schools. Senators Navy blue and lime green Senators goes with the Capital theme and no other school around has navy blue and lime green Senators royal blue and yellow cost and simplicity Senators Burgundy and Old Gold It is a nod to the legislature without being terribly obvious; think the Senate of Rome, not US Congress. Colors also harken back to Rome. Promotes the idea of a republic, our form of government. Think Ottowa Senators (NHL) Senators Dark blue & white similar to Penn State colors see https://goo.gl/images/dPNScX Senators would recognize the hometown as the seat of government (hence the new HS name) & the colors are stately in nature while contrasting with current JCHS colors of red & black

Senators Light Brown and Black Because the name senators corresponds with the new name “Capital City HS” and Brown and Black is not a color for any of the schools near by Senators Gold and Black with maroon trim"Senators" goes well with Capital City HS theme. The new gym could be nicknamed, "The House" or "The Senate." Senators Powder blue and white *

Cavalier navy blue and gray Provides a unique identity for the new school. Names such as Blue Jays will not allow the new school to have it's own true identity. Cavalier Light blue and black You don't see a lot of schools with the mascot Cavaliers. Same thing with colors, not many schools have light blue as a color. Cavaliers Purple and white Cavaliers flows well with the school name. Purple and white are cavalier colors throughout literature. Cavaliers Blue and grey Gives second school a unique mascot and colors different from the other schools in the area Cavaliers Gray and red Has a good flowing sound, Capital City Cavaliers, and Cavaliers were fighters Cavaliers Royal blue and Grey/Silver Capital City Cavaliers - It has alliteration. It easy to remember and say. No other school in the district has the same color combination or mascot. Cavaliers Royal Blue and Silver Cavaliers has a good ring with Capital City. Royal blue represents the Missouri river and silver represents the capital building. Cavaliers Dark Green and Gold A Cavalier is someone who is strong and fights with a purpose. Capital City Cavaliers just sounds awesome! The colors of dark green and gold would show strength and boldness. Cavaliers Navy Blue and Red Caputal City Cavaliers sounds good, but “cavalier” also has military connotations; someone who is loyal and will protect their people. Cavaliers Royal purple and gold I think Cavaliers just sounds good with the new school name....Capital City Cavaliers. Purple and gold would look great on a mascot. Cavaliers Navy blue and gold Respectfully submitted Cavaliers Plum and mango Capitol City Cavaliers flows nicely. And as far as colors-Jays are red and black. Helias is blue and white. And Blair Oaks color is green -so honestly, it’s colors not used yet by a surrounding high school. Cavaliers Orange and Navy Blue It just goes together. cavaliers Bro y’all blue and gold Classic name of an nba team, easily recognizable but the colors set them apart while still working in a color scheme Cavaliers Navy Blue and Gray You should consider the things because they will look nice and cavaliers sound good with the school name. Cavaliers Navy blue and grey It sounds good with Capital City and compliments Jefferson City’s heritage. Cavaliers Navy blue and orange Because it rolls off the tounge well with “Capital City” and is an appropriate mascot Cavaliers Maroon and gold Goes well with Capital City name Cavaliers Royal Blue & White or Gold Not a common mascot & ease of pronunciation. Jeff...... Jays Capitol...... Cavaliers Cavaliers Orange and black Cavalier is a knight shows protection pride and respect for others Capital City Cavalier's.! Cavaliers Royal Blue & Silver Alliteration! It rolls off the tongue! Plus cavaliersare loyal subjects!! Cavaliers Teal blue & silver I do not think that any school in or around Jefferson City has this mascot or school colors. The mascot name sounds a bit stately and can easily be shortened to Cavs to save $ on logos etc. The colors are used by sort of the next (or newer) generation of sports teams. Caveliers Honeybee Yellow and White. Missouri, and specifically Jefferson City is rich with historical and has a historical aspect everywhere you look. A Cavelier as many people know was actually a name given to Charles the first because he was seen as the best and everyone hated it. Since the high school will help brighten the future of students currently and in the future. It will produce the best students and be the better school. As for yellow the state bug is a Honey Bee and white is the color of the state tree. A flowering dog wood which has white petals.

Hawk Orange and black; Dark gray and blackanimals are from Missouri - Mountain Lion; Bobcat; Gray Wolf Hawk gold and navy blue Hawk is a tough bird and would go with a Jay bird but not to close. Gold and red is not a local area school color and will blend with red and black. Hawk Royal purple Teal Hawks are majestic and common to the area. Purple and teal are bright and would be set apart from area schools. hawk universal red and gunmetal greyI think that they should consider hawks because the name sounds strong and the colors would go great with the mascot. Hawks Navy blue and orange I was a jaybird and I think it would be nice to make it another bird. I could not think of any school close with those colors HAWKS Purple( deep) and Gold Jefferson City "JAY BIRDS"... Capital City "HAWKS". Both schools would be in the family of birds; therefore, still having the unification of "The Jefferson City community", who once felt 2 schools would bring some sort of separation. Hawks Royal blue and light grey I think the hawks signify power over the other highschool in town the jays and hawks sound powerful to go with the new modern name and the colors look really good together and could go with the power of the hawks Hawks golden hawks BLUE hawks Navy blue , white I am a Jefferson city graduate and I think keeping the bird theme along with red white and blue colors will show patriotism, and colors will go well when athletes and scholars are representing our schools district. RiverHawks Black, Royal Blue, Silver RiverHawk - rarely used, unique, bird family, strong, proud, majestic, regal, not easily mocked by opponents Colors - Keep the Black from JC (Red & Black), Keep the Royal Blue from feeder middle school TJMS (Royal Blue & Red) Silver accent can be used as silver metalic, gray, pewter, chrome. Royal blue not used by any other local teams. Black is neutral and goes with anything. Riverhawks Maroon and White Riverhawks (Hawks) fits well with Jays, as well as refers to the Missouri River. Maroon is a color not associated with too many close schools in the area. Riverhawks Green and gold Riverhawks Orange and silver Riverhawks because we are a Rivertown. Orange and silver because they are standout colors. Riverhawks Royal blue and grey. Riverhawks fits for Capitol City. Colors are different from JCHS Riverhawks Gold & Brown OR Purple & Gold We need something to represent our City and New School both do just that. Redhawks Crimson and Grey Something close to what jays are and something new

Red Tail Hawk White/Red Lots of real Red Tail hawks around the area. Color goes with the Hawk and is different than others. River Hawks Navy Blue and silver or Royal Blue and Black Keeping with the bird theme Jeff city sits on the river, that’s why I like the river hawks. I’m not too tied to the colors. If we were trying to find a way to connect the two schools I think keeping the black as the secondary color is good then pairing it with a different main color which would be the royal blue. I didn’t choose navy to go with black because i feel those are two darker shades that can blend as one so that’s why I chose silver to go with it. I think Navy is a classic and sharp color. River Hawks blue and black The mascot would be tied to the Missouri River and a hawk keeps it in the bird family. Plus not maybe hawk mascots in the area. I don’t have a strong opinion on the colors. River Hawks black and SC Panthers blue keeps bird like JCHS and keeps one common color between JCHS & CCHS

Raven Dark blue, black We need to keep the theme of birds for both jc schools. Raven Jays Red and Lime Green I think that the mascot should be a bird because the other high school is a bird so that is why I think it should be the mascot. I think jays red and lime green should the colors because jays red and lime green look good together. Raven Black and silver Helping a friend’s idea with this vote. Raven Red and gold Raven is a strong bird, black and gold are strong colors and go well with the jays colors. Raven Black and Gold Similar to JCHS to show unity but separate to show uniqueness. Ravens Black and Yellow This mascot and color combination are ideal for the upcoming Capital City mascot because it keeps a “bird” as the mascot but gives a new aspect; it also keeps one of the same colors. When saying “Introducing Your Capital City Raaaaaavens!!” it has a great sound to it and people will enjoy the similarities of the mascots to keep the unity of the town. Ravens Black and Silver The students in Julie Maassen's 4th block government class brainstormed, vetoed, overrode vetoes and explained and defended their positions with reasons. They ultimately came up with Stars. Their reason for the stars...it goes with Capital city. On any map a capital city is identified by a star. Also the appreciated the fact that they knew of no other stars locally. They came up with the colors Black and Silver. Black for the night sky and Silver for the shining stars. They also noted they couldn't think of many other schools in local area that are black and silver. Ravens Gunmetal grey and red The ravens sound really good with capital city. Also the colors would look good and tye up the red theme for schools. Ravens Black and silver I think the mascot should be the Ravens. This should be the mascot of Capital City High because they are in the same family as the Jays. This family is called the Corvidae. A family which consists of multiple powerful birds, including the Jay, Magpie, Rook and Nutcrackers. These would be good colors for the Raven s because they are solid black and others in the family are silver. Ravens Black and Silver The Black and Silver would be a distinctive yet complementary color palette opposite of JCs Red amd Black. While the Raven is a strong a and intelligent bird. Ravens Purple & black Purple is not a school color locally. Ravens Deep Purple, Silver, Gold, and BlackHaving a Raven for a mascot would have a cool "bird v.s bird" rivalry against the old high school. And the blue and red from Thomas Jefferson's color palette mix to create purple. Ravens Burnt orange and white No one around is burnt orange and white nor ravens. Ravens Royal blue, black, and white. It is just a mascot you don’t hear much about and isn’t too common. It’s different. Ravens Purple and silver or purple and blackRavens and Jays are from the same family called corvids and are considered to be large, intelligent birds. Ravens Royal or Navy Blue and Black.Ravens are confident, strong inquisitive birds. We already have a Red Bird so it doesn't make since to choose a Cardinal. The Royal , Navy Blue and Black are sophisticated color combinations. Ravens Silver, royal blue, & black (if Ravens); black & gold (& possibly a 3rd accent color) if Golden Hawks or Golden EaglesTrying to give Jasper some company : ) but still very different in order to give Capital City High it's own unique identity & tradition; These names are something different from other schools (especially Ravens) & if you put Golden in front of the other two. All 3 are very strong & fierce birds. Ravens Navy blue and black Ravens are strong birds and navy and black are strong colors Ravens Cyan and Onyx Class Assignment ravens maroon and white I think this because I would be a student at that school and there’s isn’t a school with mascot as ravens anywhere close. Also even though Belair has maroon and white as their colors I think it’d be okay. Also we could change the colors of Belair or Capital City High School.

mules blue, light Matt silver Power of loyality, trust, integrity of Jefferson City the state capital. Mule Red wight blue the mascot is about our state animal Mule Battleship gray and black The best known and toughest animal for Missouri is the mule and the colors are the normal colors of a mule Mule Sangria purple & midnight blue with some silver. The mighty mules because it is the state animal of Missouri and since we are the capital it’s best to represent the new school with the state animal. I choose the color purple because this color symbolizes who we are in the community we are creative, peaceful, independent, & noble. The color blue represents the river because of the moonlight reflects from the river and creates a mystical feeling this river also defines who we are due to the beautiful scenery of the capital as well. Mule Mint green and black Because i matter Mule Red and Blue Jefferson City is the capital and I think it would be neat if they used the state animal the "mule" and red, white, and blue which are the state colors. Mule Dark Purple and Gold Well the Missouri State Animal is a mule and I just think it's fitting for the Capital City High School. And the colors aren't as big of a deal. I just think a mascot mule running around in Purple and Gold would look aesthetically pleasing. Mule Amethyst purple, white, and blackThe state animal for missouri is a mule, and all those colors are very pretty together. Mule Dark Grey white Its our animal Mule Navy Blue and Black Missouri mule and Opposite of JCHS colors Navy Blue and Black Mules Orange and white. It doesn’t clash with any other school or organization in the area! The mules represent missouri as does Jefferson City as the state capital. The colors are complementary as well as non-clashing with other schools or organizations in the area! Mules Red and black Stays with the red and black theme of JC High School and the Mule is the state animal Mules Dark brown and bright white The mule is the Missouri mascot and the color No one has it Mules Red and Grey (Gray) I think the Missouri Mule is a great mascot choice. It represents the State and is a strong name. The colors are comparable to JC (Instead of Red/Black) use Red for strength and support - use Grey for the mule color to support dignity and pride. Mules Mules- Burgandy & White Blue Jays- Navy and silver Staying within the state theme “Capitol City” the state animal or bird would be the perfect match Mules Navy Blue and White General Pershing invented the Jumping Jacks at West Point and the nickname for a male Mule is called a Jack. Both tied to the history of the State of MO. Blue and White to be the colors because the Jays are Red and white. Combine the colors and it represents the Missouri flag Mules Royal blue and black!!! Mules Sky Blue and Gray A mule to represent the Missouri State Animal. I think the colors should be different from our other local high schools, so anything that doesn't confuse with JC, Helias, or Blair Oaks.

Cobra Burgundy and Marigold YellowThe Capital City Cobras has a very powerful tone and ring to it when said out loud. The CC Cobras can show the power and fierceness of their sports teams/ school to other schools. Cobras are a very powerful animal, and with the Cobras as our mascot, I feel that the new high school will have their very own strength! Both Burgundy and Marigold Yellow are a very nice colour combination together, and when worn by school students/ sports teams, the colours will stand out against any other colours. Burgundy is a dark and mysterious colour, and has a powerful look underlying it, while Marigold Yellow has a very light feel to it and shows the happiness of our new school. cobra burgundy purple and scarlet redThe reason why I think the committee should consider the option I chosen is Because some school distrects have red in it so I think it should be a diffrent tone of red so i chose scarlet red. The reason why I chose burgundy purple was because I haven't seen no other school with the color I chosen. The reason why I chose the king cobra is because it would represent our school as undefeatable and would make the school pop out more. Cobra Black & Gold It was suggested by another citizen and I didn’t “think” of snakes -ewww. I thought “power”. I don’t remember their color choice, however. Cobra Silver and black The alliteration is key, their student section could be called the ‘the snake pit’ much like JC’s ‘the birdcage’. The colors would look really cool with a snake mascot. Cobra Black and cyber yellow They should consider this because it flows nicely Cobras Forest green, ebony The Cobra has a c, which goes with the capital city Cobras Onyx and Metallic Silver Student section: Snakepit Alliteration is key Cobras Navy Blue and Yellow I think the Capital City Cobras will be a great choice because it sounds very nice together, and I think Cobras are strong, just like us. The school colors that I want to do is Navy blue and Yellow, I want to do those colors because I like those colors and I think it will go good with the school name. COBRAS yellow and black because King cobras slither across the ground, ready to strike and are very agressive Cobras Black and Royal Blue It just seems to go well together Cobras Black and gold Ccc Cobras Jet Black and Bright Yellow Or Jet Black and Metallic GrayYou need a mascot that flows well across the tongue, and obviously that is easiest with a C word. Any C word that is similar to any member of the cat family will be too easy to make fun of, and Cobras are pretty difficult to turn into a joke. Also, they’re exotic and are taken seriously when encountered. It conveys seriousness, that’s the point of a mascot isn’t it? Especially since a portion of the city treats building a new high school as one big joke. Therefore, Cobra is an excellent choice for a mascot. Cobras Old gold and black The cobra mascot is rare and different. It would stand out among high school mascots. The colors really make the logo pop! Cobras Black And Gold I think capital city cobras sound good together and black and gold are strong colors Cobras Yellow and black Cobras are fast, agile and powerful. Feared and respected by their prey and predators and it just rolls of the tongue; Capitol City Cobras Cobras Red, Royal Blue, White When the snake spirit animal appears in your life, it likely means that healing opportunities, change, important transitions, and increased energy are manifesting. All of which are relevant in the change in our community Capital City High School will bring. I believe red, white, and royal blue should be considered as they are the colors of our state’s flag, which ties with the capital connection. Cobras Metallic silver, onyx black Capital City Cobras utilizes alliteration and is a unique mascot, unlike any others in the region.

Patriot Royal blue and black A patriot is person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country (school) and its interests. A patriot is noble, trusting and devoted. A patriot would be a powerful representation of the students and teams at CCHS! Patriots Navy blue and crimson red A patriot is loyal and true and will support Patriots Red, Navy Blue, Silver With the majority of the students attending Capital City coming from Thomas Jefferson, why not let those students keep their middle school mascot? Patriots Electric Blue & Black Lawmaker City Patriots Royal blue and bright red It's the capital city! Make them proud to be from the capital!!! Patriots Jay bird red Sliver Sand We are proud patriots of the city and the school in the ivestment in our community. We are proud to have been able to have two schools repersent the people of jefferson. Red would represent the and match the other high school and the history it has given the community, and sand sliver represents the future, , modern age. Together we are a community moving ahead! Patriots The shades of blue and red that appear on the flagThe mascot is very appropriate for a capitol city and portrays an allegiance to the greater good of our country. Patriots Navy Blue & White Patriots holds true to the “capital” nature of the school name and location Patriots Red, white, and Blue Because JC is a strong proud patriotic city. A melting pot of people who are at the Center of America. Great scholars, enduring athletes, creative artists, soothing musicians, attentive administration, and a stupendous faculty. Strive and thrive to be the best! Patriots Royal Blue and Crimson Red. Considering the name of the high school, Capital City, references the city as the seat of state government, the mascot should reflect the pride in this designation and the colors reflect this as well. Patriots Royal Blue and White Patriot would go with being the capital city...and blue and white would match that, you could always have a little red as an accent color Patriots Old glory blue and old glory redCapital City Patriots it's only right. Patriots Navy blue & red Capital city is known for the government entities it has, the city bears the name of a patriot, and Thomas Jefferson middle school already has this mascot. The colors are traditional patriot colors that no other school in the area has and is a combination of JC Jays red and Helias navy blue. Patriots Red of the Missouri and U.S. flags; Blue of the Missouri and U.S. flags.Stand for the educational family of the city and stand for the support of our colors and spirit through exceptional standards. Patriots Royal blue and scarlet red Same as the feeder school Patriots Red & Navy Blue Those colors represent our country and the Mascot Patriots would show dedication to our troops past, present, and future Patriots Navy blue and fire engine red. Third color white/silverSince it is named the Capitol City High school, patriots coincides with the Capitol City name. PATRIOTS Navy Blue/White We are the State Capital and our country needs more Patriotism. Showing we are united as Patriots. The mascot could be a revolutionary soldier or Minute Man Uniform.

Jags (Jaguars) Tar Heel Blue and Black CC Cougars has a better ring to it but my wife chose that and a Jaguar is just as cool, CC Jags like JC Jays. The colors will stand out especially on sport uniforms and the black will compliment our JC heritage. Jaguar Black and gold The jaguar represents being fierce, smart, and independent and the color gold represents how we are bold and the color black represents how we are fierce. Jaguar The colors I think to be ours is gold yellow and dark black because our state is golden as members a a society.it would show were fierce as a state and we are strong a a Jaguar. because our state is golden as members a a society. Jaguar Metallic brown and metallic yellowThe sound of Capital City Jaguars will make all students feel powerful and encourage them to learn more at the Capital City High School.

Jaguar Carolina Blue and Smoke gray The Jaguar is a symbol of strength... Capital City Jaguars... Jaguar Maroon Silver Just like these jaguar Orange/black What animal is the fiercest? Being fierce is having or displaying an intense or ferocious aggressiveness for academics Or a showing a heartfelt and powerful intensity: Jaguar - Jags JC Jays RED and WHITE two schools, same city, keep it similar - JC Jays, JC Jags; Red & Black, Red & White. . . I graduated from JC, my kids did, now my grandkids will from the new school. Keep it similar. Jaguar (Jags) Red n white We like it Jaguars Golden yellow and black I think the mascot should be a Jaguar because all the students are strong and unafraid of school/school work and bullies just like Jaguars. And the school colors should be golden yellow and black because those colors match the colors of the fur on a Jaguar. Jaguars Black & Silver The Jaguar is a fierce amazon cat that shows determination and strives for domination in everything it does. It Shows are students will be fierce, determined, powerful adults! Black is a sophisticated color and Silver is high tech modern color. Jaguars Electric Yellow and Black Jaguars are fast and graceful creatures that I believe represents the culture of what the new schools needs. Also, the name jaguars has good alliteration with Jays....thus potentially helping to create a community between the two schools....the jays and the jaguars. The colors would go nicely with the mascot. Jaguars Royal purple and white I don’t think many schools around here have colors very similar at all and I haven’t heard of a school in Missouri with the mascot Jaguars. Jaguars Forest green and orange Cause it’s unique and not a jaguar mascot around central Missouri Jaguars (Jags) Old gold and black —Mizzou colors Mascot could easily be catchy because of the current Jays —-Now we have the “Jags”—-Colors could represent our fine U to the north—“old gold and black” Jaguars (Jags) Orange/black I like the idea of having the Jays and Jags.

Panther Aqua and light gray Nobody else in the area has aqua as their colors. The panther is completely different from the Jay bird because they should be two separate schools. Panther Black and Gold I Think the high school should use these colors because it would be a great mascot and colors. Panther Black and White Because capital city Panthers sounds awesome. Panthers Black and Gold I love black and gold. And I don't know of any panther mascots. Panthers Black and Gold Have you ever seen the sunset on the Capital Building in Jefferson City; it turns the top part of the capital building GOLD!!! Panthers Green and black Because it’s different from the other high schools around the mid Missouri area Panthers Black and Teal A sleek new school should have a mascot that looks as sleek, is powerful, and fast. The panther is also not a widely used mascot in the State. The colors and mascot are like the Carolina Panthers NFL team, but are striking and will stand out from other schools. Panthers Blue and Black They are cool Panthers Navy blue and red JCHS is red and black and it would be neat to still use red in the town but have navy as the other color. Panthers is a college alumni mascot for me, just liked it a lot! panthers Royal blue orange and sliver The committee should consider this mascot and colors because their way different from the other school colors and it won't be as confusing when the Capital City high school go against the other high schools. Panthers Black and white Has a great ring and I was born and raised a panther Panthers black with white I think they should pick the black panthers because we will destroy other schools in sports. I think the colors should be black and white because black pantherns are black and it would look better with white black panther charcoal grey and cobalt blue I think the committee should consider a black panther because it's unique and it's not a common mascot. The black Panther signifies strength and courage because even though they are dying rapidly they still keep going. So I think they are kind of a role model too have hope even when losing. I choose charcoal grey because that's about the color of a black panther and blue because it's a good contrasting color and background. Black panthers I think the colors should be Apple Red and Harvest GoldBecause the colors go well with the other high school and the mascot because Black Panthers are fierce and they go well with the colors. Lightning Panther Pitch black & canary yellow The lightning panther is sneaky but strong, showing that Capital City's students can put up a fight while using their brains. A panther is intimidating, and the lightning just adds to its effect - and with lightning's connection to the Greek God Zeus, whose animal is the Eagle, it's very Amercian. All in all the Lightning Panther is smart, strong, and a popular choice between my social studies table at TJMS

Coyote Navy blue and orange Coyotes are native to Missouri and Capital City Coyotes has a nice ring to it. The new Highschool needs its own identity Coyote Royal blue and gold We love the coyotes and color combination. Coyote Royal Purple and Silver Animal native to area. Colors not used by other area high schools. Coyote Powder Blue and White Coyotes are an animal found in Missouri, and "Capital City Coyotes" just has a nice ring to it. Powder Blue and White is very different from JC's red and black. Also there are not very many schools that have powder blue and white as colors in Missouri. Coyote Eggplant purple and silver Because they are strong and confident Coyote Navy Blue and Crimson (colors on state flag)I think Capital City Coyotes has a nice ring to it. There are several coyotes within the state of Missouri. Blue and red are the colors on the state flag. Coyotes Maroon and gray/silver Just thought “coyotes” sounded good with Capital City High School. As for colors....don’t believe any schools close have those colors Coyotes Gold and orange Its a common animal in the area and no other school in area uses these colors Coyotes Tan and teal I hear the coyotes at night. Coyotes Gray and navy blue. Coyotes are native to Missouri and gray and navy blue are bold colors. Coyotes Colbalt blue and a light silver I think this would be a good mascot because (to my knowledge) there isn’t any school near us with that mascot. It also has the alliteration and isn’t absurd (they can be found in Missouri). I think these colors would also be nice. They wouldn’t clash with the mascots colors (grey coyote) and they’re almost the opposite of the Jays colors so people wouldn’t confuse the two schools/teams. Coyotes Teal and gray I like the alliteration of Capital City Coyotes. Coyotes are an animal with which many people in the area are familiar. Using Coyotes as a mascot is unique in the area. The colors suggested would stand out from the common red, blue, and green seen in other high schools in the area. Coyotes Perry-winkle and matte black I chose these because, they are pretty basic, but have a fun twist that other schools won´t have, I think we could do a more unique mascot, but coyotes goes well with Capital City Coyotes Coyotes could be any color, maybe brown and white or black and tanThere are probably lots of coyotes on the property where the school will be built, coyotes seem tougher than Jaybirds, and I don’t think Capital City Coyotes would offend anyone.

tiger black and orange i think this because it will look cool and it will be nice to have a school like that Tiger Black and Gold Junion tigers like Missouri University. Tiger Navy blue and Gold These colors are not utilized in this area. Ashland and Jefferson City are red and white and black. The Eagle is the most used mascot around-all Christian schools use it and Lighthouse prep uses it. Columbia high school colors do not use gold and navy blue-it would be unique to Capital City. Tiger Gold and black It's part of the college Tiger Navy Blue and white ? Tiger Black and Gold Tigers are fierce and strong animals. Motto has been stronger together and Black and Gold are bold colors that represent a strong bond! Go Tigers Tiger Cats Black/Orange/White Colors show well at a distance, at night under lights. No other school colors in immediate area. Macon and Kirksville are closest to area. Tiger Cats are different than Tigers, Wildcats, Bobcats or others. Mascot and colors would lend itself for the Capitol City High School to being readily noticeable and unique from other schools in the area or statewide Tigers Mandarin orange and deep whiteTigers are an animal who is feared. Every animal is feared from a Tiger but the Tiger is fearless. I think that is how our students should be in both academics and sports. Tigers Tangerine Orange & black They’re unique and would compliment the school nicely. Orange is a bright color and represents the light in the world, brining in a new school is a good thing. Tigers Black and orange for the away games White and orange for home games My children played Sports for JC high. And I have traveled with them to every school they have played and I just don’t remember those colors so I think that would be the perfect colors for the new high school. Tigers (Cats) Missouri black and Missouri goldIt is very catchy: Capital City Cats. C cubed. It also is like Mizzou! MIZ Blue Eyed White Tiger Turqouise Blue and White. I think the committee should consider these options for a mascot and school colors, because it goes with the colors of a White Tiger. I think that we could stand out and express our differencees in the JCPS district with our different choice of colors, becuase most JCPS have the color red in them. It stands out, and is different like the White - Tiger, (becuase, most tigers are orange and black) we can show difference, and it can still be okay to stand out.

Wild Cats Teal and Charcoal grey I think these should be considered because they are unique colors but a still a fun strong mascott, that represents strength and power. Wild cats Baby blue and light grey I think capital city high school wild cats sounds like a catchy name. The colors are unique to our area and eye catching Wildcat navy blue and gray totally different from current high school, closest school is Linn but we don't compete against them in sports, mascot of strength, power, 'fighters', I think our kids need more grit and this would represent that. Wildcat Burnt orange and white I think they are unique and as the schools are “connected” they still are separate and I think they need to be completely different when it comes to the mascot and colors Wildcats red and black They are strong colors and a powerful Mascot Wildcats Golden yellow and black I will have kids attending one of our high schools, and we are suggesting these after a family conversation. Wildcats Black and white to show our unity Wildcats are much more fierce than birds and the colors of black and white will show represent our unity as a community Wildcats Light gray and bright purple Something different in the area Wildcats Navy Blue White They are bold colors & it is a aggressive animal Wildcats Crimson and gold Unique non offensive fun Wildcats Purple and silver Capital city wildcats flows well (and cats hunt birds). Purple and silver go well together. Wildcats Royal Purple and silver Wildcats is a unique mascot for this area and there isn’t any school, that I know of, around here that is purple and silver.

Cyclones red and gray I like the idea of keeping the same letter like Jefferson city jays, capital city c...The cyclones or the copperheads both work regionally and would be good mascots and I like the idea of keeping red as a common color between the schools. The second color corresponds to the mascot, such as copper for a copperhead and gray for a cyclone. cyclones Orange and royal blue They’re contrasting colors to the other schools in the area. Cyclones Gray and yellow, silver and yellow, red and navy blue, red and yellow, black and grayCCC - something with a "C" name - Comets, Cardinals, Cavaliers, Cobras Cyclones Light gray and navy blue Capital City Cyclones has a good sound to it. The colors are gender neutral and I can picture a light gray cyclone on a navy blue shirt/jersey/etc. Cyclones Black & silver Just like the sound of it. Cyclones Powder blue, silver Cyclones is a unique name that no one in the area, and perhaps state, has and is catchy with “Capital City.” Blue and silver could really help identify the new school, as high schools in this area use it. Cyclones Burgundy and gray Capital City Cyclones sounds good. It sounds powerful. Cyclones Lime green and black Those colors look good on everything and pops out on jerseys! Cyclones Navy Blue and Gold Name flows well. Colors are prestigious. Cyclones Navy Blue and Bright Green To the best of my knowledge, Missouri has no other high school with the Cyclone mascot. Plus, the alliteration of Capital City Cyclones is nice. Furthermore, the colors are popular (Seattle seahawk colors) and also fairly unique among Missouri schools. We need to be cautious to distinguish our two schools (I.e. no bird mascots, and avoid red, black, and white). Cyclones Royal blue and slate gray Cyclones are a force to be reckoned with changing blue skies to gray.

lion The colors should be a cream white and a rose red.The cream whir and rose red represent the schools pride and the school shootings. And the lion symbols braveness. lion I think the school colors should be Red and Royal blue because because the other schools in Jefferson City Public schools are red and another color and I like the color gold and I think that Red and Royal Blue would go GREAT together just sayin.I think the committee should consider these options for a mascot and school colors because lion's are feirce and would always beat the Jays and the colors are amazing and fit with the other Jefferson City Public Schools. Lion Green/yellow Lion for courage Colors cause they are cool Lion Royal purple and silver I don't know of any schools that have a lion as their mascot here in central Missouri. Lion Orange/black Eagle is overused; blue is overused; green is used in the area as well. Just thought it would be a different twist Lions black, blue and white it will be look good for your mascot

Lions Gun Metal Gray and Red I think that they should choose the lion has the mascot because a lion is strong and mighty. I think that they should choose gun metal gray and red because the red would tie it in with all of the another buildings in the school district and the gun metal gray would be a good mach with the red. Lions Forest green and gray Lions were traditionally seen as regal and elevated so their group is called a pride. Pride can be a saying in the new school Lions Gold (old gold) and purple (violet)The mascot and colors are both unique and carry a sense of nobility. Nobility is a character trait that seems to be rare and disappearing in the modern world. That also makes those who possess it stand out. High schools that teach math and science are everywhere, but a high school that encourages its students to aspire to high ideals like nobility, compassion, wisdom, and courage, is a rare and great thing. Jefferson City deserves great and the children of Jefferson City deserve great. The spirit of the school begins in the colors and mascot it chooses. Lions Black & Gold It’s a “strong” and “intelligent’ creature with a nurturing instinct for its cubs. Our school needs to nurture its students and develop them into strong and intelligent leaders in society. Lions Navy blue and gold Royal blue and gold have a sense of excellence. The lion is a powerful and strong mascot which represents the district’s motto “stronger together” since a pride of lions helps each other survive.

Angels Gray and white Just thought need to stay away from red and jays Apostles Royal Purple and Gold Because the City was named after Thomas Jefferson, "The Apostle of Democracy". Also the meaning is "someone sent on a mission". Maybe the Mascot could be a Minute Man. I realize with state and church you need to stay away from religious reference. Armadillos Forest green and canary yellowI think it would be nice for the new high school to have a mpre unique type of mascot than the typical Bears/Lions/Tigers that permeate American high schools. Color-wise, I wanted to clearly distinguish the new high school from the current high school. Badger Gold and black Noble and tenacious, the badger will represent the grit we are trying to encourage in the coming years in our JC high school students. The badger is a native species and would look great on the striking colors of black and gold. Badger silver and navy blue Something other than a bird cuz we has a jay bird and I love silver and blue Bats turquoise and dark gray Bats are native to our area. They can be seen flying around the capital dome at night (to my understanding). As animals go, they seem intimidating. “Bats” is not a mascot for other nearby teams. The turqouis and gray colors are not used by other schools in the area. Bats Black and Baby Blue Site preparation for the new school was delayed to allow for safe migration of Indian Bats. bats Black and royal blue Because royal blue stands for positivity. We want the mascot because it is unique. Battlecat Black & Orange The battlecat is a made-up animal just like the Jaybird. Black and orange stay in the same color family and would go well together in designing an image of the mascot. Beaver Forest Green, White The beaver is representative of the natural habitat around Jefferson City and area's notable waterways. The color "Forest Green" is consistent with the nature theme, and "White" complements it. Bee Jet black and marigold yellow The state insect is the honey bee. The colors go with the bee as the mascot. Bills ("" Goat) Blue and Chalk WhiteJust like a Mountain Goat they have to climb mountains just like students for their goals in life. It is unbelievable to see them on the side of the cliffs along hwy 94 and wondering how did they get tot hat point on the cliff. They are brave to face the challenges in life just like the students walking through the high school doors everyday. In the end the students just as the Bills" Mountain Goat" stand high on the mountain over looking they path they took to get to the top. Bison White and Tiger Orange White and Orange do not interfere or copy any other colors in the area. The bison represent sacred life and abundance, and would be a strong mascot. Bison Orange and White The colors (orange and white) pair well with each other and do not clash with surrounding schools. Bison are popular animals in Missouri and would be an appropriate mascot! Blue Cats Black and Powder Blue the Capital City is located along the Missouri river and it's original. Blue Cats Blue Gray - White We're a river town. The Blue Cat is one of the strongest fish in the Missouri River. They grow old and wise. Match the colors of the Blue Cat with a Blue-Gray and White. Blues Royal blue and white This mascot speaks to our Missouri music heritage as well as reflecting current professional Missouri teams. Boaty McBoatface Navy blue Cause they are cool Bobcat Forest green and white Bobcats are in Missouri. Green and white go well together and would make a nice background for a bobcat picture Bobcats Emerald City Green & Glorious GoldBecause the bobcat is often seen in the state of Missouri. It's a fierce and courageous animal. The green relates back to the forest around Jefferson City and the gold ties into the tones of the sandstone rock adjacent to the river banks. bobcats light browen and dark black. the bobcat littel and feares like our city. Bobcats Royal Purple and Gold Because everything else that's good is taken. Bobcats Charcoal gray and cerulean blueA bobcat is a local predator who is small but fierce. The colors would not clash with jay red and black but the 4 colors would complement each other. Bobcats Green and yellow, similar to Oregon Just a good color scheme not used in our district. I’m not particular about the animal. Should they be voted on separately? Bobcats Black White Teal Blue Bobcat are a native species to Missouri and those colors aren't common colors for central mo HS. Bouvier Red and light gray The Bouvier is a large, strong dog. It is also smart. It’s a great symbol of strength and intelligence. Red would tie in w the other high school and two middle schools, while the light gray would be unique to CCHS. bowl of soup Black on black on black baby I think the mystery behind a bowl of soup is appealing. You never know what’s in there...... but it’s going to be soooooo good Boxing Kangaroo Royal purple and white A kangaroo is unique and would make the school stand out, along with the colors. Also, the words “kangaroo” and “capital” have the same sounding beginning letters. Boxing Kangaroo Dark Purple and white Powerful symbol and colors boxing kangaroo dark purple and white unique Boxing kangaroo Dark purple and white Unique unlike the new high school name. Boxing kangaroo Dark purple and white Kool kangaroo ... Kool colors Boxing Kangaroo Dark purple and white The name of the school is very boring. A kangaroo is very unique. Purple and white would be strong as well. Bucks Dark Green and White We are avid hunters around here! Buckstoppers Gold and Crimson In honor of Missouri's sole president, "Buckstoppers" is a unique nickname that evokes Truman's famous phrase "The Buck Stops Here." The name evokes leadership and personal responsibility, making it the perfect team nickname for Capital City High School and the generations it will educate. The colors, Gold and Crimson reflect the coat of arms of Truman's 129th Field Artillery Regiment that served in World War I and still today as a part of the Missouri National Guard. If a costumed mascot is desired, a grizzly would be appropriate, as three not only grace the Missouri flag, but another sits atop the 129th coat of arms. A potential logo would be straightforward and appealing: the Missouri capitol dome rising above "Buckstoppers" in an athletics cursive font. Bull Dark Red and Brown I think the committee should consider this one because the Bull is a fierce animal and Our sports teams should be like that Bull Shark Pewter gray and Carolina blue Bull sharks are the only sharks capable of swimming in rivers. Seeing as a huge feature in The capital city is the Missouri River, it seems fitting to have a mascot that embodies the tenacity of the city and it’s people. Bulldog yellow (pineapple color) and purple (violet)I like the sound of 'Capital City Bulldogs' and I think yellow and purple go well together.

And orange and navy are the colors of my Fav team;). Auburn;). No judging! Bulls blue, gold Because the colors mach the school Bumble Bee Yellow and Black The teams could be "The Stingers" Butterfly Grass green and royal purple The butterfly starts as a caterpillar and becomes a beautiful butterfly. Grass green because it represents nature and we should always be aware of our natural surroundings and take care of them. Cadets Black and Gold The name goes well with the school. Also, the name is appropriate for young adults as they get older, since they are young men and women getting prepared for their future lives and that is almost the definition of a Cadet. The colors are catchy and lots of people will like it. Calvary Navy Blue & White Stately mascot with government affiliation, sounds great with Capital City and is unique from other mascots. Camels Blue and gold It all starts with the letter C and gold is cool Capitalists Money Green, White Cool Capitol Teal and black Because they are cool Capitol Black and White I’m an Alum! capitols navy blue & white It only seems fitting that it should be the Capitol City High School capitols. Navy and white seem like fitting colors for a capitols mascot. Capitols Black and White Capital City Capitols sounds good and the colors would be complimentary Capitols Red and white I’d like to stay with the Capital City theme for the mascot and I think red and white would show unity with red and black but still be different. Captains Black and Gold or Orange The "Commodores" and the "Captains" both go well with "Capital City." They both convey leadership and strength. They both tie in well with our city's river and history (i.e. riverboat captain) However, I like the sound of "Capital City Commodores" slightly better than the sound of "Capital City Captains." The Captain or Commodore would make a fun and friendly mascot. The colors are a strong and make a bright color combination. Captains Candy red and ghost white I think we should be the Captains because we have a river running through Missouri. Captains Sage Green and Khaki i.e. CamoCaptains are regarded as "Leaders", being a Capitol city we have many leaders living here. Sage Green and Khaki (or Camo) are about the most popular choice in daily wear in this city. It is fitting and something a little different in school colors and mascots. Captains hunter green/black/white Captains because of Captain Meriwether Lewis since we have an historic marker here with the Jefferson Landing. The colors keep the consistent black color from JCHS but have an extra accent color in the white as well as green so it isn't as easily confused with say Blair Oaks. I had heard some talking about a Blue Jay for a mascot but then you run into people shortening Jaybird to Jays and then Blue Jays would also get the same treatment. Then what school is cheering for whom when you have a rivalry game? Isn't that part of the fun and atmosphere of having crosstown rivalry games? Captains Navy Blue and White (with yellow/gold as an accent color) The river is such a vital part of Jefferson City's identity, both past and present. A boat captain is a symbol of leadership, authority, and integrity. It would be generally inoffensive and non-controversial. It would be an easy costume for a physical mascot. Both males and females can be equally represented. Nautical and military aspects could be played up for classy- looking uniforms, signage, and fan gear. The colors are easy to match and find, and are distinct from JCHS colors and those of most other nearby and rival schools. Captains are an uncommon mascot, but not so strange as to draw unwanted attention. The alliteration is whimsical without becoming too cheesy, and "The Caps" is a decent nickname. I believe the Capital City Captains in navy blue, white, and gold will be an excellent addition to our school district and community. Captains Navy blue and white Capital City Captains sounds good and navy blue and white fit the “captain” theme. captains Royal blue and white Because it is the most spectacular idea to have ever been conceived. Captains Navy Blue and White For the riverboat captains that sail up and down our Missouri and some sailors wear navy and white. We would not take colors away from other local schools. Captains Navy blue and white To honor the riverboat captains who traveled the Missouri River which was required for the naming of Jefferson City as the capital. Captain’s uniforms were navy blue. Captures Dark Purple and Light Gray Capture is a ecommerce term. With Technology growing and also it also represents the birds that are many of the all ready mascot. Birds of prey. Know one has purple as there school colors here locally - gray is for universal. Capybaras Powder blue and light grey Don’t do another bird- just because 2 high schools are in the same city doesn’t mean they have to be the same. Blue and grey go so well together and have you ever heard of a capybara as a school mascot? its a 10/10 mascot Caribou Hunter Green and Khaki brown. I think it fits well with Capital City. Very unique. Cat Violet, royal blue Because it would be pretty Catalyst Royal Blue and Silver As defined, a Catalyst is "a person whose talk, enthusiasm, or energy causes others to be more friendly, enthusiastic, or energetic." It works for both academics and activities. We want our students to be Catalysts of change for our community! I envision it with stars and sparks! Catamounts Black and tan Capitol City Catamounts has a nice ring to it and it's unique. The colors, are what I think of when I envision the Catamount. Plus it would be somewhat different than other schools. Catfish Steel blue and white Blue catfish are one of Missouri's largest native fish (growing beyond 100 pounds) and are a formidable predator. With Jefferson City perched on the banks of the Missouri River and our community's desire to connect to this historic resource, it seems appropriate to select an aquatic animal to represent student activities at the new high school. Thank you for considering this submission. Catfish/Mudcat Black and gold Mudcats represent a Missouri tradition for many patrons in this community— black and gold bring together the two major high schools already in Jeff City. Cavalry Red & blue with accents of whiteBecause we would always ride in to victory Challengers Navy blue and white The illiteration that Jeff City Jays has can also be applied to Captial City Challengers. It is also completely untreated to a bird/animal like the Jays. Chameleon Olive green/other sage green and royal purpleOur community is growing and changing and much like a chameleon it adapts to its surroundings so what better mascot than a chameleon to show our community. Chameleon Sky Blue ( 2707c) and WhiteGo Capital City High School Chameleons!! “Like Capital City High School students, although Chameleons come in all shapes and sizes (180+ species), they are all very capable of adjusting to their environment in order to give them the best chance to thrive. Unlike most animals that reach their full size after a few years, Chameleons continuously grow just like the students will throughout their time at CCHS and in their futures. Capital City High School Chameleons also just has a nice ring to it. Sky Blue (Pantone 2707c) and White are fitting colors because no other school in the area has these colors, and if you look up blue Chameleons, they look really cool (just like our students)! Also, Chameleons have opposable thumbs, which does not have much significance but is pretty neat.” Chameleons Neon green and black It's phonetic. Modern, bright colors Chameleons Sky Blue (Pantone 2707C) and WhiteLike Capital City High School students, although Chameleons come in all shapes and sizes (180+ species), they are all very capable of adjusting to their environment in order to give them the best chance to thrive. Go Capital City High School Chameleons! channel cats grey and black local fish. intimidating colors Channel Cats royal blue and yellow The mascot is a tribute to the official fish of Missouri, and a tribute to the the sporting culture of mid-Missouri. It's a smart, adaptive, and dominant animal that puts up a fight when caught. It's been on every dinner table in mid-Missouri, and it's delicious. Also, it's a total original. I don't think any school in the nation has Channel Cats as a mascot. Royal blue and yellow are a brilliant color combination that pairs nicely with white, gray, and black. Lots of versatility, and both males and females will wear the colors. Also, this color combination separates the new school from other schools in the area that wear red and black, navy and gold, purple and yellow, and green and gold. Don't want to look like JC, Helias, Hickman, or Rock Bridge. Also Cap City Channel Cats is alliterative, and can be shortened to just Cats. It's versatile, original, and a tribute to Missouri's wildlife. Chanticleer Carolina Blue and Cardinal Red Fictional Bird, like a Jay and the Color keeps the traditional red. CHANTICLEERS TEAL & BLACK OLD GOLD ACCENT It is a unique mascot, like the Jaybird. Fictional bird, like the Jaybird (Only 1 Jaybird in the US). Only 1 high school in US that has Chanticleer (Ord, Nebraska) and 1 college (Coastal Carolina. Black would connect the two schools, with Teal being a more modern color that is also unique to school colors. It's a perfect fit!

Chargers Carolina blue and white To my knowledge, there are no other high schools in the immediate are with this mascot or colors. Chargers Royal purple and gold Chargers goes well with Capitol City. Royal purple and gold and a good color combination and a good contrast to JCHS red and white. Chargers Powder blue and yellow The Chargers is a unique mascot and represents our students charging ahead into the future as the district charges ahead into a new era of two high schools. Blue represents the sky and yellow the sun, further advancing the charging ahead theme Cheetahs Orange and black CCC.... Capital City Cheetahs Cheetahs Black Burnt orange No other school in the area had this mascot. Black and orange represent the . Chewbacca Dark Brown and Metalic Silver It follows the pattern that Jefferson City Jaybirds follows. Chewbaccas Chewie Brown PANTONE 476 C Color values: RGB 78 54 41 HEX/HTML 4E3629 CMYK 30 71 75 81 Royal Blue PANTONE Blue 072 XGC Blue 072 XGC Color values: RGB 40 16 154 HEX/HTML 28109A CMYK/OGV 100 0 0 0 / 0 0 97Chewbacca is a legendary creature of great strength who strikes fear into the hearts of Stormtroopers and Imperial Officers from Tatooine to Coruscant. It is even rumored Emperor Palpatine himself keeps a picture or Chewie next to his bathroom mirror to psych himself up in the mornings. Chewbacca’s iconic war cry would cause opponents of Capital City High School to follow the advice of C-3PO when he said, “Let the Wookie win.” Keefs Red and blue Chief Keef should be considered as a school mascot because he rose from rag to riches and represents the fighting spirit of Jefferson City. The colors are red and blue because Chief Keef in his song “Colors” mentions his favorite colors as red and blue. Chiefs Red & Black It coincide with KC Chiefs. Chihuahuas Jade green and crimson red Because they are fighters, tough and not to be taken lightly. Chupacabra Dark blue and gold Because it would be awesome Citizens Purple and gold The citizens of the Capital City finally came together and worked together after many years of needing a 2nd high school to vote and pass the bond issue to build a 2nd high school. The colors purple and gold for strength and power. (But mostly because I love purple ☺) classics Royal blue and grey. The Capital city is a landmark..A classic, a special, a beautiful place. Clydesdales royal blue and light gray Clydesdales are in MO The colors go together Cokatoos Yellow and white It has an awesome sound to and the cockatoo is confident and colorful. Plus who doesn’t love a Cockatoo! Colonials Red, White, Blue The Colonials are the people who founded this town. Colts Royal blue, white, and Ivory Colts; Royal blue, white, and ivory are colors not used by large schools in our area. Colts Navy blue and Orange The colors are bold and unique, as is the mascot! CCHS needs to stand on its own while also being cohesive with JCHS! Colts Teal/Gold A unique mascot and color combination for mid Missouri. Alliteration in effect as well. Colts Navy blue and silver It is not local, the c sounds good with capital city, it also leads to own identity unlike the common voice going around of being blue jays or cardinals. Let’s get this school it’s own colors and identity. I also can’t think of a mid mo school that is navy and silver high school wise but I haven’t Investigated that. Colts Kelly Green and Ebony Black Colts are considered strong . The new school should be thought of as JC strong, and colts will represent that well. Also, the contemporary color palette will be vibrant and make people see the high schools both as new/improved, both equally modern. With this combination of strong and modern, Jefferson City Public Schools will be thought of as a modern, premier district in Missouri. Colts Navy Blue and Silver The mascot is unique and alot of other schools are not the Colts. And I just associate blue with colts. Colts Royal Blue and Silver Cause it looks and sounds good. Colts Royal blue and silver It’s cool???? Colts Royal blue and silver I think it sounds neat Colts; Celtics Royal Blue, white, and ivory Capitol City Colts sounds catchy. Missouri supplied most of the horses and mules that the US army used in WWI. It is a name that not many schools in Missouri use. Royal blue, white, and ivory is a catchy color combination that is not used by any of the large schools in our area. It is a color combination that vendors will easily be able to supply for the school and athletics. Comets Royal purple and gold. Capital City Comets sounds good, and purple and gold is the color of royalty Also: a comet rendered in purple and gold would look great. Comets Turquoise blue and orange with silver accentsOk, they're not used (to my knowledge) in any other local team colors. I like the Comets because its apolitical, non-gender specific, and it's an amazing natural phenomenon. Also, the alliteration- Capital City Comets, c'mon! :) Comets Electric Blue / Purple AmethystIt's totally different than the other High School keeping it's own and new identity. Comets Icy White and Blazing Orange The comet is a blazing streak across the sky that is beautiful sight but also you don't want to mess with. The comit is also an explorer, never knowing where is it going to go kind of like potential of a student and the experiences they will learn at Capital City High School. I wanted the keep away from birds and animals macots because there enough of thoes around town. The "C" could used in the logo where the color combinations orange and white don't get used alot. Comets or Stars Silver and Midnight Blue/PurpleComets or Stars were the first thing that came to mind. Silver color coordinates/represents Stars or Comets & the midnight blue/purple represents the sky color(s). Commanders Gun metal grey, Black, and also the color goldBecause we are the city state capital and we would represent our colors of the Mizzou Tigers and the word Commanders would be good because it stands for as a higher class and commits a good leader and also it sounds brave as The Capital City Commanders also our abbreviation for our schools name would/could be CCC Commodores Black and Gold or Orange The "Commodores" and the "Captains" both go well with "Capital City." They both convey leadership and strength. Compromisers Black and White Red and Navy Blue Dark Brown and White The Compromisers for Missouri's great history, The Old Muddies as an homage to our river, The Bluffs as a subtle nod to the rocky landscape of the region Comrades Royal Blue with black or white highlightsThe definition of a comrade is a companion/close friend who shares one's activities or is a fellow member of an organization. To me, this would help us tie/unify the two high schools. Condors Royal blue and black My reasoning is to keep the two high schools similar. Alliterations and birds: Jeff City Jays, and Capital City Condors. Jay color are red and black so I chose royal blue and black. Condors Royal blue and Black The condor is an enormous powerful bird. Royal Blue and Black colors complement each other. Blue is trust and loyal and Black is mysterious. conquerors Black and Cloudy Gray I think the committee should choose this because it will put fear in the hearts of our opponents in any sport. Copperhead "Jeff City" red and copper/brownContinuing red through out the public schools from middle school to high school will help keep a traditional bond for the community just like the Columbia high schools have done with their mascots all using the color gold. The other reasoning for creating that community color thread is for the sense of pride both schools can have sharing the athletic fields over the next years. Copperhead is not a mascot used locally, it is found in the area, and is a playful rival to our current fiesty Jay bird. This combo allows for the school to stand on its own but continue our bonds. Copperhead Red and metallic gold (not yellow)The alliteration of Capital City Copperheads sounds nice. Copperheads are a unique mascot and a predator common to the area. Using red will keep a common thread between CCHS and JCHS. Copperheads Red and Gold Keep the Red for unity. Copperhead starts with "C". Capital City Copperheads. Copperheads Red and copper I like the idea of keeping the same letter like Jefferson city jays, capital city c...The cyclones or the copperheads both work regionally and would be good mascots and I like the idea of keeping red as a common color between the schools. The second color corresponds to the mascot, such as copper for a copperhead and gray for a cyclone. Copperheads Burnt Orange and White Copperheads are indigenous to Missouri. Their color resembles burnt orange and no area schools have this color combination. It would represent a team that you wouldn't want to reckon with! Copperheads Gold and Maroon State snake, tough looking. Gold and maroon go with mascot.

Copperheads Copper (burnt orange) and silvery grayCopperheads are a native species, and would be a "fierce" mascot. The coppery orange color would be to go with copperhead mascot. And I feel the orange and silver combination is "the same but different" complement to red and black. copperheads copper or orange and teal I beleive Capital City Copperheads has a nice ring to it. The name and color combinations are different than any other schools in the area. Copperheads Burnt orange and Brown Just an idea Cowboys Royal Blue and White (Gray as well, but not primary)The committee should consider this for the Captial City mascot because it gives alliteration to grab hold of attention and it also can be said as Cowboy's or Cowgirl's...for example, in football they would be the Cowboy's but in volleyball they could be the Cowgirl's showing equality and respect Cowboys Blue and silver Pioneering spirit. Different mascot from current school mascots Cows Black and white My kids think that a M-O-O chant would be hilarious. Separately, it pays homage to the large amount of agricultural influence in the area. Cranes Royal Blue and White The crane is a bird found in Missouri, and the colors blue and white are the opposite of JCPS, so that the high schools will not be thought to be the same thing, and will instead be more separate. Criminals Black and White with Red Federal Prison in JC. Red goes with Jays. Capital City Criminals. Sounds intimidating. Crocodile Hunter green and light gray Since the school will be CCHS, it should have a mascot that starts with a C also (just like Jefferson City Jaybirds). Crocodiles are tough and strong, making them a great mascot. And since crocodiles are green, the colors should be hunter green and gray. This was also an assignment for Mrs Maassens Government class. Crocodile Army green and black We had class and voted on it together so a lot of people like it Crocodile Forest green and black Capital city crocodiles- CCC how awesome does that sound!!!! Unique name! Something different. Completely opposite of jeff City jays. crocodiles bright red and dark green I think the committee should consider the options of the mascot and school colors because, everyone is scared of crocodiles and alligators why not support that opportunity. Green is the color of dignity and red is the tradition of missouri. crocodiles Navy blue/silver Crocodiles Hunter green, and gold Capital city crocodiles sounds cool! And green and gold look good together and would go nice with a crocodile Crocodiles Forest green and grey They’re cool Crooks Red & white Creativity, unusual crows Black and white Crow eats jaybird Crows Skye Blue and Black I think you should consider this Mascot because as the other high school is a bird, I think this high school should be a bird too. Also, Jefferson City Jay's kind of matches Capitol City Crows. Crows Sky Blue with either Black or WhiteI would like to tie the two high schools together by having similar mascots. I also like the idea of having the mascot start with C since the Jefferson City High School mascot starts with J. I like the idea of the Jefferson City Jays and the Capital City Crows. Crows are very social, sometimes forming flocks in the thousands. Inquisitive and sometimes mischievous, crows are good learners and problem-solvers. Crow Black and dark blue Crow alliterates with Capitol City and it, like the jay, is a corvidae Cruisers Navy Blue and a Smoky Gray A cruiser is a battleship and our community has been going to battle for more educational opportunities for the students of Jefferson City Public Schools. Crusader Maybe colors like black and white.I think the committee should consider these options because the high school could be named something like the Capital City Crusaders. Crusaders Burgundy/Gray No particular reason. Just fits well with the looks of the new school. Crusaders Silver, Kelly Green & Black They look really well together Crush Royal purple and gold Capital City Crush just sounds awesome. Colors look good together. Crusher Dark orange and royal blue The Capital City Crush sounds GREAT! I've mentioned it to several friends and they agreed. Capital City Crush is the nickname of the school and Crusher is the mascot. Sounds catchy! Crushers Powder blue and gold Crushers due to all the rock quarries in and around JC. Cubs Marroon/Black/White Simonsen’s name used to be the Cubs Cubs Royal blue and white Cubs are on state flag. (Bears). But cubs has alliteration- royal blue and white would be very patriotic with red jays. Then our city would have red white and blue (and a little black) which would be very patriotic also. Cubs NOT red and black Tip of the hat to Simonson Cubs that will go offline. Rolls of the tongue, Capital City Cubs. Cubs Navy Blue and Kelly Green If I remember correctly, there was a college once located in Jefferson City at one point. I believe the mascot was a Cub. I also believe the middle school, currently simonsen was also the cubs. Linking the new school mascot with history of the past would be neat. I also, think Navy and Kelly Green is a great color combination that is unique. The color scheme and the mascot gives Capital City High School a touch of the past along with something new. cubs Dark green and white The alliteration of the words Capital City Cubs flows nicely and adds appeal. The green and white reflects the natural aspects present in Cole county. Dark Black and Silver Definition of Dark Horse - A little known unexpected SUCCESSFUL entrant who suddenly emerges into prominence and succeeds! Black and Silver - Two colors that work very well together. Black because of DARK; silver symbolizing a bright and shining future. The mascot itself could be a Silver Dapple Black horse. Deer/Stag Forest green / light purple The deer/stag reflect local wildlife, in fact something that may frequent the campus. Green to suggest growth, purple to pair well with green that isn't white (Blair Oaks). Alternatively, black could sub in for the purple to harken back to JC high, with the green suggesting a distinct difference. Diamondbacks Platinum, canary yellow There is no team in Missouri called the diamondbacks, and it would be cery unique since this is a new school, and should stand out Dinosaur Orchid Purple Seafoam Green I want to be involved in my community and making our district great again Dinosaur Orchid Purple and Seafoam GreenI think that it would be fun colors and a fun mascot Dinosaur Orchid Purple Seafoam Green We are studying missouri history and we want to be involved in our community. Silver and forest green Because dolphins work best as a team and can even take down a shark when united as one--just as Jefferson City is stronger together (see what I did there?) and silver is a royalty type color that looks cool and forest green also shows that we are eco-friendly Dolphin Amethyst and white These are bright colors that aren’t used in any local area schools. A dolphin is an awesome creature dolphin ?? and there is already an emoji for it ?? Dolphins Royal Blue & Bright Lavender/purpleIts a change from the usual "eagles" or bright red in this area, and blue & purple is a gorgeous combo that students would love. Domes Light silver and dark gray The Capitol building is our city’s most prominent structure. How fitting to use it as a symbol for our public school. Domes powder blue & silver i think the capital city domes would be unique and original Dove White and sky blue The dove represents peace and freedom for all, i think it wouldn't be offensive to anyone or any group and it would represent what we all want to achieve world wide which is peace and also would be a very unique mascot, i do not recall hearing of any other schools with a "dove" for a mascot

dragon The colors i think that would go good with the dragon school mascot would be dark purple and bloody red.I think that the dragon would be a good option because - dragons are brave and strong and are never afriad. Dragon Lime green Purple I think you should consider these options because the colors and the mascot are out of the ordinary, and I think it’s would be a lot of fun for everyone to dress up in the school colors and have a dragon as a mascot Dragon Grass green and white Colors should be considered bc it would not overlap with Helias or original JCHS colors. Dragon Purple and black It fits the new school dragons violet purple and rose red I think that the committee should consider these options for a mascot and school colors because dragons fight with fire and that is cool. It would show that the high school is strong like dragons and red is the main color of all the other school colors and the dragons i have seen is purple. Dragons Electric blue and Scarlet They would look cool and I am one of the students who will be the first freshmen. Dragons Green and Gold It's not a very common mascot but it is recognized around the world as a powerful mythical creature. Dragons green and black something imaginative whimsical and fun Dragons Kelly green and white It would be awesome! Earthworms Brown and silver The school district has no color scheme like it. This is a creative mascot and it can’t be worse than the cupies. elphent black and white white- White wine/ stong color/ pale black- black wine/ its a hair color African bush elephants can lift up to a weight of 9 tons. Their trunk is also very strong. It contains more than 40000 muscles and tendons and can carry 200 kg of weight. African bush elephants also have larger ears than Asian elephants. African Bush elephants are also known for their long tusks. Commonly their tusks grow up to a length of 2.5 meters and weigh up to 45 kg. They used their immense tusks for digging, to defend predators and to fight with other male African elephants. Emojis Red, white, and blue First off the school should have been called Schooly McSchool Face, but that’s neither here nor there. Why red, white, and blue you ask? Because those are the colors of the flag of the greatest country on earth! Why a smiley face? Because he doesn’t smile entering a school named Schooly McSchool Face painted like the flag of the United States of America.....ps our founding fathers would approve of this. Explorers JC Jays red and navy blue (Helias)Red and navy from the JC Jays and Helias Crusaders ... Explorers from Lewis & Clark Explorers Black Anthracite White Explorers are always treading new ground. They discover new places, ideas and have a sense of adventure. This mascot would also work well for both academic, athletic and artistic clubs and teams. Explorers Stone Grey and Sky/Water blueThis school is representing our state capital. Blue for the all the waters in our great state. Grey for the stone and concrete that built our capitol building. Explorers for all the historical figures that have had such a huge impact on the evolution of our state and the variety of places the state is known for. Our rivers, lakes, caves determined a lot of the oldest towns in this state. The folks that homesteaded those towns were explorers of sorts. We had famous one like Mark Twains Tom Sawyer, Lewis & Clark, Daniel Boone & the Choteaus to mention a few. Falcon Royal blue and dark grey Falcons are the king of birds. They strong, proud and present victory. I have chosen royal blue to represent trust, loyalty and grey for confidence. Falcons Orange and black JCHS has a bird mascot so thought keeping in the bird theme would be good. And the colors need to be distinctive from the red/black of JCHS and the blue/gold of Helias Falcons Royal blue and gold Falcon is a strong fierce bird. It also stays in the bird realm as to be a sister school to JC Jays. Colors because royal blue and gold sound regal and honorable. This combination would represent a strong and respectable mascot. Falcons Maroon and White It is a good contrast to the other high schools mascot and colors. It is different, yet doesn't compete with the current high school. fighting irish emerald green, white I thought they were clever. Fighting Jabronies Silver and Gold Because nothing is more willing to fight than a JABRONI Fire dragon Midnight black and Burgundy The Fire Dragon represents transmutation, energy and mastery. A dragon would be a unique mascot; lending enthusiasm, courage and vitality. The dragon mascot will evoke fires within. Dragon is a strong protector and offers leadership and mastery. He offers inspiration, great strength; inspiring youth to achieve their goals. Firebirds Scarlett red and bright yellow No other schools have Firebirds. Or those colors around here. Fish Sky blue and crimson red. I suggest this because it is very cool. Fox Silver and royal Blue Cause the color silver on a Fox Picture with royal Blue would be some cool looking sport jerseys!!! fox Royal blue and silver Something more creative than another bird mascot foxes red and white because they are the colors of the foxes Foxes Royal Blue and Orange No one in the central Missouri area has these colors and they are very sharp and appealing. George Washington Red and silver I think that they are both strong and bold German Shepherds Tan black and white Because my dog is one of the best dogs in the world and he could become the mascot and be at school everyday and at all sporting events, brings joy and encouragement that every kid needs during their Gerrymanders Anything but Red, White & BlueJefferson City being the State Capitol has a unique opportunity in that a number of options exist that don’t exist in other school districts. Also, it is very easy to settle for what everyone would expect. I highly discourage settling for something so simple as Patriots, Delegates, Senators, etc. and using the traditional red white and blue color scheme. Given the inevitable concern about redrawing the attendance lines in the district, the gerrymanders may bring up some issues. However, this is just one example of some unique options available for Jefferson City. Other options include: Pork Barrels, Whips, Pundits, Lame Ducks, or Filibusters. Please, think outside the box. Ghosts Burnt Orange, Black The city and region itself is flooded with the history of the figures that built it up to be the historical location it is today. From famous inhabitants, to the origin of the names, and to the claims over territory through the Civil War, the region itself will forever be remembered over the "ghosts" that have forever left their mark. The classic color combination will bring fear to opponents and will allow students to show their pride for the history that has led them to this point in time, and the figures that have brought them here. Giraffe Teal, orange and white I've never seen a giraffe mascot I think they are strong, tall and not offensive. Teal is a beautiful color and goes with orange and giraffes are orange. Goofballs Royal blue, cardinal red The Capital City Goofball is the crowd pleaser mascot for Capital City High School baseball team. He is also a state legislator. Goofballs Red and Royal Blue The Capital City Goofball is the crowd pleaser mascot for Capital City High School here in the Capital City. gorilla royal blue and pitch black Because the mascot is not taken and the colors and the animal is unique. Gorillas Black & silver Gorillas is an unusual name that isn’t going to be found at area schools or probably most schools they would encounter. Gorilla colors are black and silver (silver-backs) Govenors Royal Blue and Gold It is only fitting! Governors navy blue and white Governors goes with the "Capital" theme. Gracie Royal Blue She will be the most enthusiastic supporter possible and she is royal, so royal blue! Gray Wolves Gray and Black This mascot name is a good name because it just sounds cool and it a cool name. Also the colors go good with the wolf mascot (: Gray Wolves Gray and White Once wild animal that roamed Missouri. While we may have lost wild Wolves in nature, we can bring their spirit back through our schools. Great Horned Owl Forest green/Navy blue The Great Horned Owl is a Missouri native with a wise reputation. Green is representative of out forests and parks. Blue represents on Rivers and Lakes. Grey wolf Royal blue and silver Already have the eagles, tigers, should have one more protected species in this city, silver to mimic the color of the wolf, and royal blue for loyalty

Greyhounds Marigold yellow and dark gray Greyhounds are incredibly strong and fast, which is what our teams should pride themselves on. It’s also unique! The marigold yellow and dark gray colors are different, but still powerful and exciting. Griffin Royal blue, pearl white, and gold. Our mascot should be a Griffin because Griffin's are brave and fierce, and that is what I expect from our sports teams. Our colors should be royal blue, pearl white, and gold because those colors would be unique to our school. Griffin emerald green and sky blue The Griffin would be a unique mascot and the colors would be a cool combination. Griffin Purple and Silver They look cool. Griffins Deep purple and silver - no one else around has those colors it's a great blend of animals and represents that multiple elementary schools with many mascots joined to make up the school Hellbenders Black and Gold A Missouri Hellbender is a salamander native to mid Mo Highlanders any two (plaid to be used) Historically the area was first settled by Scots Hollow Frogs Powder Blue and Black, with Green MascotIncorporates regional history with mascot, Frog Hollow Rd. And you can never go wrong with Powder Blue. Honey Badger Yellow Green and Powder BlueColors chosen are bright and fun, trustworthy and tranquil (also they are dissimilar to other local colors). Honey Badgers are fierce, steadfast, resourceful, and if they get bitten by a cobra they just take a quick nap and move on. Horned Frog Dark purple and gray Bc frog hallow rd Horned frogs Dark purple Gray Frog hollow road. Colors are different than any other high school in j.c. area hornet bumblebee yellow You have the Jays Redbird and so it would be nice to have red with the bumblebee yellow and be the Capital City Hornets ready to sting the bird.. Hornet Royal Blue, Dove Gray, & Metallic Silver for an accentBecause they don't suck.o Hornet Blue and yellow I like them Hornets Golden yellow and black To my knowledge hornets is unique to this area. Hornets Bright yellow and dull black I feel like it needs to be something other than a bird because the other highschool is a bird and the Capitol city hornets sound catchy . Hound Dogs Turquoise and Silver Well, I wanted "Teenagers" to be the mascot. But since that's merely funny, but not sensible, I thought "Capital City Hound Dogs" rolled off the tongue very nicely. And turquoise and silver is the color of my dad's favorite watch. Howling Wolves Galena Silver and Arctic White I think the committee should consider my options because wolves are very cunning, swift, and strong animals and I feel as though that is what our school should portray against opposing schools.I also believe that my color combination should be the schools colors because Galena is Missouri's state mineral and we are Missouri's stat capital and because white is very flashy on uniforms. humming bird i think the color shoud be blue and black the reson why is well it this the color of a humming bird i seen well a huming bird is a fast flyer and we will lrean fast and all the lrean will fly right pass us and we will get as Hurricanes Royal blue and white Sounds very nice when said together. Color same as a hurricane and not similar to the jaybirds. Huskey Silver and royal blue Because I have siblings that will be attending one day huskies blue black and white I think we should pick the huskies because there a really cool and beautiful creature that is black and white with blue eyes and the colors would look really cool together and you dont here the huskies everyday. Husky Red and white or Gold and silver.Because husky are like wolfs because they also work in a pack. Huskies Red and gray Huskies represent teamwork, which represents the district motto of "stronger together". Red will give us a color in common with Jefferson City High School as we are part of the same team while gray gives the new high school its own identity. Immortals Charcoal Black and Burgundy MaroonSeveral local schools use the Spartans, butter Spartans were beaten by the Persian Immortals on several occasions. The color combination is aggressive and reflective- it will encourage thought, but also sports aggression. It is also reminiscent of the JCHS colors, but stronger, bolder, darker. It is intimidating. Maroon evokes culture and blood, while black evokes ash and night. These qualities also reflect the immortals. Jackals Light gray and violet Jeff City jackals has a nice ring. Neither is overused. Too many ///blues in school colors locally. Jay Maroon and white Jay pride can still stand and include everyone! Jay Slightly different shade of red, don't wanna be too obvious about how generic the school isShows exactly as much thought and creativity that went into naming the school. If you could possibly respond with the correct palms to grease I will be happy to make the appropriate "contributions" to make this happen. jay bird 2.0 platinum red and navy blue i’m not really wanting to change anything from JC Jay Cats Grey and red. Similar to a bobcat, the Jaycat is uniquely from Jefferson City as is the Jaybird. The colors should be gray and red. The grey representing the courageous coat that protects it and the red representing the intensity of its eyes. Jaycat Red and Gray The colors will be similar to JC, so we will stay together. And the jay cat is similar to a jaybird, so we will still be the jays. You already took away our home being one school, dont try and take away everything else. Jaycat Red and gray Like Jaybird is unique to JC, so will be the Jaycat. Red will be the common color between both high schools AND middle schools. And we can still all be Jays! Jayhawk Crimson and Royal Blue They are great! Jayhawks Royal blue and Crimson Way better than boring mascots that everyone uses i.e. Tigers Jays Royal Blue and Black Establish a history and connection to JCHS by having mascots similar but distinctive to each school Jays Black and red Cause it's been like that for years why change it cause it's a new school just a new home for the jay and red and black. You should never break a old tradition Jays Red and black Continuity for the school district. Kangaroo dark purple and white Kangaroo's are tough, that's why you see images of them with boxing gloves on :) It's also unique unlike the name of the new school. Purple/white also unique. Kings Red and Gold Red and Gold so we can be close to the existing hs black and red colors and still feel like one unified city. Kings... sounds stately / credible compared to most other mascot Kings Royal Purple and Sun Yellow Because I said so kings Gold and dark black, like the Lawson school colors. Or gold and the whitest white. The Capitol City School sounds very grand, and in response should receive a grand mascot (hence why I suggested the king) with impeccable colors that stand out from everyone else. Knights Dark Red and Silver I think we should have Knights as are mascot because the Knight is tough, quick, and brave. I think we should choose these colors because knights have silver armor and a red plume in the helmet. knights Charcoal grey/black Why not the Capital City Knights versus the Spartans, crusaders, falcons and of course the Jay's...just sounds strong along with the colors. Knights Silver and Gold Unique colors, unique mascot

knights Navy blue and silver Because it fits well and it is completely different. Knights Black and gold Combination of both schools in town already, plus the knights protect the Capitol. #winning Knights Black and Silver Capital City Knights would represent strength, unity and courage. Black and silver would provide a “common” color between the two high schools with silver as the distinguishing color for the Knights. Knights Black and Powder Blue The Knights for strength and unity in an adaptive world we live in. koala bear I think the best school colors would be cherry red and teal. I think the mascot that would be great for the new high school would have to be a koala bear because it is an original and a different mascot compared to the other schools. Also, I think the best school colors would be cherry red and teal because red is a traditional school color and there are many shades so I picked my favorite shade, and I picked blue because it goes very good with cherry red. Koala bear Turquoise and lime green Because they’re awesome koalas sky blue and white everyone loves koalas and i think the colors look great on everyone, this everybody feels included Lawmakers Royal blue and silver with gold trimLawmakers will enable the new high school to build on the history of our city by honoring Thomas Jefferson as well as celebrate the benefits of housing our state congress within city limits Legislators Cowardly yellow and money hungry green. If the shoe fits.... Lepard Black. Purple light I like them Lepercon mint green and dark green because the clover are good luck it would be a simple name lepoard navy blue and BLACK well a capitols school should get blue and black and a lepord will be good Liger Navy blue and grey They would pair well with the jays Liger Navy blue and true gold The colors are different than other schools in the area. Navy conveys importance, stability, and sophistication. Gold s the color of success, achievement, and triumph. The mascot is also different but strong and unique. Llama Lobbyists chameleon - changes colors depending on who you’re opposing/who’s on the roomThey accurately depict the capital city. Lucarios Blue and silver My suggestion should be chosen for i am a JCHS alumni and former Jay football player Marauders Navy blue and red This would fit in with the law and order reputation of the state capital and our frontier days of the westward expansion of the country, with a nod to the traditions of the Missouri State Penitentiary. Martins Black and Purple The high school needs it's own identity, but having both bird mascots would show unity in the district Mavericks Black and sunflower yellow Mavericks are described as an independent-minded person. In the light of our future generations, we want them to be independet, free-thinking citizens of society that contribute their utmost to their communities. Black and yellow is a strong combination of colors, and some of the most valued creatures in the world sport these corresponding colors (i.e. the amazing bumblebee) Minutemen Black and white As the capital city, we should consider a historic protective force Mocking Jay Royal Blue and Silver Fits with the one JC concept. Everyone is a jay. Mockingbird Light blue/gray and Black The mockingbird was a favorite of Thomas Jefferson. It is said Thomas Jefferson's eyes were blueish gray. Monarchs Black and silver Monarch is the head of state. Jefferson City is the home of state government Monarchs Purple and silver The students going to this high school will be from TJ and their colors are red and blue which makes purple. Monarchs are butterflies...you know float like a butterfly sting like a bee. Monkey Power blue and yellow Because it'd be cool Mudcats Navy blue Gold Mudcats (plays into us being a river town) Mustangs Caribbean blue and gold Horses are cool Narwhal Ocean blue and white The colors would go well with the mascot...also this is a high school and teens love narwhals! Neptune Colbalt blue and gold (Neptune) is a strong figure from the Greeks which represents strong fighting fearless pride Old drum Beige and black Old drum is a good choice since it’s a historical part of Missouri and the high school is going to be in Jefferson City which is also where the old drum bust in the courthouse is Orioles Orange and Black Keeps the avian theme of Jefferson city schools and color is close to that of current JC high of red and black providing some unity with uniqueness. Orioles Black and Orange Keep birds as mascots and keep black and a version of red. Owl Medium gray and black Owls are native Missouri wildlife known to be cunning predators and most owls have a combination of gray and black in their feathers. Owls Royal blue and black I think they should consider these because they are good choices. Owls navy blue, black, and gray Owls are wise, a good way to see our new school staff and students. Phoenix Bright Red & Yellow or orange Because like a Phoenix the new school is rising from ash to become mighty Phoenix Purple and silver I feel the two schools should have completely different identities! I know a lot of people are saying blue jays but I do not agree Phoenix Emerald green and sky blue The Phoenix would be unique to the area & the colors would create a different & exciting combination. Phoenix Crimson Red Burnt Orange There aren't many Phoenix mascots around, plus the Phoenix is bold and powerful. And the colors suit the Phoenix well, as it is a fiery fierce mascot. Phoenix Red and Orange A Phoenix represents beating all of life’s challenges and being reborn. These are great symbols for a new school that wants to represent JC. Phoenix Gold and bold red I think they should consider theses option because we are the state capital and we should have a bold and brave Symbol for the school which is the phenix and the colors in my opinion should be a great representation of the animal plus the city Phoenix Royal purple and orange gold Strong and powerful like we want it ur children to be Phoenix Red and Gold I believe that by having a bird and the color red will "unite" Jefferson City Public Highschools in the community when there are wider initiatives that both would like to support, such as "these birds flock together for ____" or "We all wear Red today for support of ___". I believe the Phoenix can be seen as a possibility for this community to be born again and have a fresh start....in addition to the competitive edge, any time that a football game is lost, or a a low score is given to a speech and debate team, they will have the chance to "rise from those ashes and be strong and ready for the next competition".

piggy pawer powder pink royal blue 10/10 Pioneers Navy blue and red Cole county was named after Stephen Cole. Navy blue and red are unique to the area. Pioneers Powder Blue and Navy Blue and white I think it would be exciting to brand the capital city with The pioneer patriot. It represents growth, represents the future of the city and its new high school. The navy Blue and powder blue colors represent the class of the city while also representing the hard work blue collar mentality. The white signifys the growth and the newness of the city! pirate Black and white I would think this is a good choice because pirates are fearless and have no mercy. Pirates Metallic silver, purple It is different from the old JC colors and mascot and could be great. Capitol City Pirates pirates metal gold and metal silver. because i like pirates and those colors i choose just look cool Pit Bull Black and brown (like a brindle colored pit bull)Pit bulls are strong, loyal, and strive for success. All traits we hope the new students will all possess Polar bear Daisy yellow I haven't seen them very often. porcupines purple and royal blule it well go relly good and the colores will pop out. Raiders Royal Blue & Yellow I think the Raiders would be a good play on Words from Thomas Jefferson Patriots. Your on both sides of the fence. Patriot then Raider..... and Blue and Yellow cuz it’s Cool ?? Raiders Silver and black Black and silver are classy colors that are easy to incorporate. Rangers Copper (actual chrome style) and Black. I feel like most high schools in Missouri have numerous animals as mascots. And this could be an ode to the officers that help protect and serve this nation. Raptor Silver and burnt orange. Try and say Capital City Raptors and not feel awesome. It's not possible. The colors are unique and are not used by any other school around. It will help us stand out. Raptors deep royal purple lime neon greennot used locally to my knowledge. physical mascot can be merger of characteristics of Eagle + Hawk + Owl Raptors Sand Green and Peacock Blue Raptors are cool, birds are lame and those are the colors of Blue from Jurassic World Raptors Silver and Navel Orange with Black trimMid Missouri has several bird mascots, Jays, Eagles, Thunderbirds, Falcons. The Raptor is the ultimate bird. Silver and Orange are sharp colors with a touch of class. It is also different from red and black which will help the two schools stand apart. Raptors Anthracite (chalky and earthy near-black or very dark gray) and Gold. Missouri is a proud habitat to many species of birds, including a number of "raptors" aka "birds of prey". Common Raptors are hawks, eagles, and falcons. I nominate the name Raptors because 1) it is unique: unique like our town, community, students and staff 2) related to Missouri: let's pick a name that doesn't look like it was drawn from a hat of generic mascots 3) the team name is tangible: being that a raptor is a type of bird. Tangible names allow you to have a straightforward mascot. We should avoid names like "Liberty" or "Spirit" even though they are patriotic sounding like Capital City. 4) Raptors is an intimidating name. I would think that students and student-athletes alike would be excited to represent a school that has a mascot that is fierce and represents power, speed, and intelligence. The school colors I suggested would be different from any surrounding school. Also, a Northern Goshawk and its respective colors were the reason I suggested the cool gray and gold. Raptors Blue/gold Raptors are in the bird family Red Panda Cyan and Onyx The red panda is a pretty exotic animal, and could be a unique mascot. The cyan and black would complement the red of the Jay's. Red panda Royal blue royal purple There going ideas River Cats White, Sky Blue Being a river town I think that having a mascot as a Catfish would be fitting. Even give the catfish a handlebar mustache. The colors will clash well with JC HS and also work well with the river theme River Otters Seafoam green and navy Capital City river, river otters, water colors. River Otters Yellow and navy blue Jefferson City is know for the capital and Missouri River so the Capital City River Otters would emphasize both and the colors would look nice together. River Rats Orange/black JC a river city River Rats Aqua Blue/Black No one in this area has those colors and Jefferson City is known for the Missouri River River Rats Teal and Gray The term River Rat has always been used around JC. The urban dictionary has the following definition for River Rat: A community of people that live along a river. Known as tight knit community that always sticks together and looks out for its children. Also, spend a lot of leisure time along the river, fishing, boating, ect. People that live along a river are proud to be called "river rats!" Teal and gray...well, rats are gray and teal is just a pretty color, can't be confused with red and black. River Runners Ocean blue and either black or beach brown, to go along with the River Runner themeJefferson City history is deeply tired to the river, like Lewis and Clark, etc, would be a great way to tie in history. River Warriors Navy blue and Gold Being next to Missouri River always considered a river town. Rivermen Brick Red and Royal Blue that match the city flag. My husband thinks it should be White and Royal Blue.Ties in to the city's location and history. Road runner Royal blue and egg shell white Opposite of JCHS Robin Burnt orange and bright yellowSomething different from the surrounding areas. Sailfin water lizard Royal blue red and gold It looks really cool and just say capital city sailfins doesn't sound cool. Scorpion Brown and Yellow Because it's different. All the schools have the same colors and mascots, need something that sticks out and is different. Scoutsmi Midnight Blue and Old Gold Scouts reference Lewis and Clark along with all the other forgotten frontiersmen. Color combination Is the Missouri light of the and the darkness of the unknown frontier. Sea Horse Baby blue and sea foam green The seahorse stands for patience and can also mean powerful. The seahorse has a armor like shell keeping it sake and making it strong. Sharks Teal, silver I think the Sharks would be a unique mascot from anything thats close to our area. I think the teal and silver would tie into the Shark theme as well and it would be different color styles from our immediate neighboring towns school colors. I think it would give our second high school an identity separate from the existing high school and feel we need to stay away from bird themes. Sharks Teal, navy blue, silver/gray The shark isn't a mascot we have in central MO and the color scheme goes well together and for a well with a shark. Sharks Slate and royal blue Because we already have 2 birds in this area. It's just something different. Snake neon yellow and neon orange Because they would be an awesome combination. snow leopard scarlet and black or peach and greybecause the snow leopard is a dominate animal and we need a way to tell other schools that we are dominat and the colors are nice; Sparrow Biege and silver Capitol City Sparrows rhymes, and sparrows are brown and white. spartans royal blue an sunset red. because we are strong and we stick together through the best of times and the worst of times like spartain and i read about a spartian civilization that was royal blue and sunset red as there colors Spartans Red and royal blue The Spartans are warriors and the colors match the mascot Spartans Black and silver Different from all other highs schools in the area

Spider Red , Blue because it reminds me of a spider. Spotted Owl Royal Blue and Light Brown A Spotted Owl Represents intuition and wisdom, royal blue represents elegance and intelligence, light brown represents security and honesty. Squirrels Gray and white Because there’s a lot of squirrels Star Powder blue and white Just thought it was cool Stars Navy blue and metallic silver I think that Capitol City High School should have Stars for the mascot. As a community, we want all of our students to be Stars. A Star mascot represents the spirit of reaching setting high goals for achievement. In addition, a character traits could be included within the acronym for Stars: Strength, Talent, Authentic, Respectful, Successful. Navy blue represents the beauty and wonder of the sky and silver represents the color of the brightest, most brilliant stars in the galaxy. Stars Silver and black with a touch of light blue accent"The Committee" is charged with the responsibility there for it is their choice Statemen burnt orange and white Mascot relates to Jeff City and the color are unique in our area Statesmen Navy and White Most of the students moving to Capital City High will be Thomas Jefferson Middle School Patriots, which couples nicely with Statesmen and complimentary of the Capital City High School name. The school colors of Navy and White are bold, classic and rich colors. Statesmen Navy blue and silver The Statesmen goes along with the Capital name. As far as the colors - there isn’t another school in our area that has the colors of navy blue and silver - it would be unique to this school, and would have a very classic look. statesmen red and navy blue fits with the Capital theme Statesmen Navy Blue & Silver With Jefferson City being the Capital City, I think the Statesmen is a good mascot choice that shows Jefferson City is the Capital and the seat of state government. As for navy and silver? I just think it's a great color combination--it's stately! Statesmen Black and white Having the mascot named The Statesmen, would suggest the legislators who serve our state here in the capital city. It would fit with the school name, Capital City High! Statesmen Red/NavyBlue A true statesman thinks of future generations. Many years of success ahead for our Statesmen. Statesmen Royal Blue & Silver They seem to all fit together in my opinion. Statesmen Navy and White Since this is the Capital of the state, then we have Statesmen here many months of the year. The colors would be good because they are different from the other high school. Steamers Royal Blue and Shiney Silver Mainly the river aspect...steamboats...sky scenery, water, blue skies and silver clouds Steamers Black and silver Playing off of the old steamboats from the MO river and silver is a color of the steamboats Steamers Orange and Black The steam boat is what revolutionized river towns like Jefferson City. It won't be just a mascot, but a representation of our culture and heritage. Also, there are no other Steamers in the area. It is as unique as the other schools is. There are so many cool designs that could go with it as well. Stellar Jay Royal blue and charcoal black (great color combination, and unique...To match the unique red jay)The Red Jay is obviously unique to JC. A Stellar Jay is too, in that it's habitat is in the Western U.S. and far north, so it is unique in that it is not seen in the central U.S.) Colors in our area range the gamut because of Nichols Career Center hosting surrounding schools and having private school colors with Helias. Blue and black are a unique school color combination that will stand out amongst all the other choices and match the beautiful mascot colors. Also, should we continue to grow and someday have a third high school like Columbia, there are a lot of different Jaybirds to choose from) This brings some cohesion with Jefferson City, while being still unique. (I heard from a town old timer tgat the Jaybird mascot was partly decided because we are Jeff City with the initials JC. So "Jaybird" is synonymous with Jefferson City. Stoics Midnight Blue (Hex 143D55) and Green-Yellow (Hex 70822E)From the Greek philosophy, stoics sought to develop clear judgment and inner calm. The four cardinal virtues of stoicism were Wisdom, Courage, Justice, and Temperance. The colors of blue and green were selected because stoicism is rooted in nature and Jefferson City has plenty of surrounding nature. Blue and green are also calming colors and excellent for studying. I am a 2002 Jefferson City High School alum, now a Kansas City area patent attorney. Storm Storm cloud grey and royal blueIt's something different. The school can have their own identity instead of being associated with Jefferson City. It's a strong name. Missouri has a lot of storms and weather changes. I think students, teachers and parents would be proud to support a team with a strong name like Capitol City Storm and sport the colors. Thunder Gun metal gray and white because it’d be cool Thunder Royal blue & Gold Thunder would represent the crazy storms that we have in the area which come in strong and quick and to never be taken lightly. Blue and gold would represent the colors on the state flag. Thunder gun metal gray, and white We are proud supporters of the JCPS with 2 children entering into this new HS. The new HS is on the top of a hill, thunder and lightning are prominent . I work at the new SSM so I know this first hand :) Thunder Birds Maroon and white I like them Titans Red & Navy Blue It’s not a common mascot. Easy to have a costume and logo made. Offset to Battle Spartan and Helias Crusader. Trailblazer Navy blue and Gold Trail Blazers was selected in honor of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Blue was chosen for the Missouri River, and gold is for the Capital. The color selection also provides a nice and clear distinction between the new and exsisting school. Trailblazers Teal blue and light brown Lewis and Clark were trail blazers and the colors represent the water and mountains and ground. Turtle Black and turquoise. Nobody has a turtle and the colors pop when they’re together Turtles lavender and cotton-candy pinkCause nobody else uses them! Be unique. unicorn royal blue and volcano red. I think the committee should consider a unicorn because they are a mystical animals and they are like the under dogs because people would look at the name and be like they are named the unicorn lol. Unicorns the colors should be red and navy blueUnicorns are strong big creatures with horns. the colors should be red and blue because are tradition is red than another color Unicorn Light Pink & Mint Green Why ask why? I like unicorns. Viking Royal Blue and Black In history the Vikings traveled to lands that were unknown to them (much like the new high school) and defeated those that stood in their way (much like the football team will). The Vikings were feared by many and they had a code that they lived by that kept their bonds strong and morale high. To be a Capital City Viking will be an honor to everyone that wears the colors and name. As a Capital City Viking the students will enter a new school facing new challenges and leave victorious with their diploma in hand ready to face the world knowing they have what it takes to be successful. The colors (royal blue and black) will signify the bruises left behind showing defeat and will be a constant reminder to whatever may stand in the way of a Viking that they are a force for be reckoned with as victory and success is what a Viking eats for breakfast. The blue can also represent the great Missouri River that flows through our great city. The river that a viking would travel to reach this new land and conquer it stan Vikings Navy blue and grey Unique, I don’t believe anyone in Central MO has this mascot Vikings Black and Gold Jefferson City is a town that I feel that fights for what it wants and having the mascot as the Vikings show courge and strength. Which is what this town stand for. I feel that black and gold goes well together. Volunteer (bluetick coonhound dog)Crimson red and gun medal grey. The reason why I think this will be a great mascot is because the first president of the United States had multiple bluetick coonhound dogs. Another reason is these dogs are fierce and mighty, it just sends the message that we are #jcstrong. The reason why I chose the colors crimson red and gun medal grey is because it will look sharp on jerseys and sweatshirts as well as make us stick out with the grey but stay in Jefferson City colors with the crimson red. Voyagers Forest green and white Missouri River part of Jefferson City and Lewis and Clark voyaged down the river Vulcans Powder blue and silver Because Vulcans live long and prosper. Vultures Blood red, purple Unique, no other colors or mascots like what I purposed. Wallaroo and White Sapphire is thought to bring luck and create a sense of peace. Wallaroos are survivors, and tough. Wampus Cats Burnt Orange and White Wampus Cat is unique in the area--no school within a few hundred miles has that mascot https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wampus_cat --and is a mythical beast so there are no issues with people being offended or put off by choice of something that strikes the wrong tone. Because it is such a rarely discussed or used mythical beast, the Wampus Cat of Jefferson City can have its own (original) legend and lore. By coincidence, it has the same twelve character traits as the district emphasizes in character education AND it is fearsome in its strength and physical ability--much like our new sports teams. Further, the male and female Wampus Cats are called the same thing--no more Jay/Lady Jay/Jayette business. As the saying goes, what do you call a male Wampus Cat? Sir. What do you call a female Wampus Cat? Ma'am. They are respectful and respectable beasts those Wampus Cats. We aren't likely to photograph one any time soon, so maybe we could get a clever artist to draw one from a description. Orange a Wampus Cats Navy Blue & Gold Wampus Cats are intelligent, independent animals, and these traits should be shown by the students. Navy & Gold go well together from a fashion standpoint. Wampus Cats Royal blue and gold The Wampus cat is a mythical creature that is unique to American folklore. It is strong and cunning. It is also very unique among school mascots. Very few schools have chosen this mascot. This would allow Capital City High to shine in the unique story and strength throughout the state and the nation.

Wardens Black and silver Very unique to JC and highlights the biggest tourist attraction. The old prison. Wardens Black and white Jefferson city correctional center was the oldest prison west of the Mississippi Warrior Black, gray, and yellow. A warrior portrays an image of being bold, strong, and undefeatable. The colors are unique to this area. warriors royal blue and black I think warrior sounds kind of scary and it's better than an animal. The color could be royal blue because it's like we're royalty. Warriors Dark Navy Blue, Silver Historically, many battles were fought in Jefferson City; whether they were physical, political, or otherwise. Thus, many warriors have come into our city. Dark navy blue and silver represent the strength of warriors. Warriors Navy blue and black Capital City Warriors has a good ring to it and the colors are what come to mind when I think of the mascot Wasps metallic gold and black No wasps as mascot in any surrounding schools and Gold/Black is an uncommon color scheme for high schools! Westie Royal Blue and White Nothing cutie than a West Highland Terrier Westie Royal Blue and White A Westie is feisty and wants to be #1 Westie Royal Blue and White The West Highland White Terrier is so full of self-esteem that he knows he's the best thing around. Westie Royal blue, white I think they would be a good combination and pick for the school. Westie royal blue and white Because a Westie is a regal Scottish hunter who would provide history and adorableness to the school Westie Royal Blue and White Terriers are tenacious and cute and no other school in Missouri has one as a mascot Westies Royal blue and white Westies are great dogs Westies Royal Blue and White The Westie Highland White Terrier is an attention getter and always has the tenacity to get things done. Royal Blue and White just go with a Terrier Westies Royal blue and white Great mascot and beautiful colors for the school Whitetails Navy Blue, Lime Green, White These options for the mascot and colors should be for the new high school because it brings a unique mascot to the school district and city, whilst adding new and modern colors to the city. WOLF GOLD and BLACK It best suits the people that go their like everyone are in packs gold mean special person and black means caring. wolf shiney gold balck Because i think they are cool and i like wolfs and because they are awesome wolfs will be the good one out of the other mascot thank you hope you choose wolf on the the mascot it should say the school name with a special word thank you even if you dont chhose wolf wolf navy blue and black wolf are weak as one but in a pack wolf are stronger and as 1 big pack wolf are unbeatable Wolfpack Black and Rockies purple The committee should consider the names and color mostly because there aren’t many schools in the area with the Wolfpack mascot or the color purple. Too many schools in the area are some combination of red white and blue or black and another color but there’s not a school that I can think of that has black and purple as their main school colors. Also, a Wolfpack is a group that does everything together and I think it’s a great name for a mascot in a world we’re people are divided but at CCHS everyone runs in a pack. Turquoise and Gold Both the colors and mascot are different than any schools in the area. Capitol City High School has the opportunity to create something new and unique to the area. Wolverine Royal blue and black I think the mascot should be something powerful like a wolverine and the colors because it will have one color in common with JCHS. wolves navy blue and faded grey they will represent the fact that high school is wild. Wolves Black and grey I don't have a particular reason. Just adding my suggestion wolves Royal blue and silver Wolves are very loyal to their pack and are tenacious fighters. Wolves Canery Yellow and Midnight BlackCause everyone around is a damn bird.... flacon... Cardinal.... eagle.... jay.... Yellow Cardinal Yellow and black A yellow cardinal was recently discovered in Alabama and it has a rare genetic mutation that means it’s one in 1 million. And I thought that it would go nice with the red Jay’s. Yetis Powder blue and snow white The Yetis would be a unique mascot that many would have never seen before and would be really cool. The colors would be good because they’d look fantastic together. Both of these things would make the new school different from not only the current high school but also many other schools. Zebra Black and White. The Zebra is a strong, swift, and a steady animal. The colors are of Black and White where the Zebra has a distinct design that shows the sleek structure of this beautiful animal. Zebra Black and white Cause black and white go with a zebra
