Castleknock & Carpenterstown – Your Community, Your New 2nd Level School opening 2017 An English Speaking School with an Irish Speaking Unit Multi-denominational, Co-educational, Inclusive, Community College The Department of Education and Skills is seeking to appoint a patron for the new 2nd level school for Castleknock & Carpenterstown. Dublin and Dún Laoghaire ETB is making an application for patronage with our Community College model. Parental demand is a key consideration for the Department in selecting a patron. Therefore, DDLETB is seeking parental Expressions of Interest as part of our application.
Dublin and Dún Laoghaire ETB has an established tradition of excellence in post-primary education and more than 100 years’ experience as an educational patron in Ireland. We are currently patron of 27 Community Colleges in the greater Dublin area including Castleknock Community College, Coláiste Pobail Setanta, Luttrellstown Community College and Riversdale Community College. The Community College model is designed to meet the educational, social and diversity needs of the local community. A Community College will provide an educational experience that reflects modern day needs and changes in society, equipping your child for life and living in a modern and progressive world. It will be a co- educational and multi-denominational school, with a community based ethos of inclusivity and the highest educational standards. It will be a technologically advanced school using the latest Information and Communication Technologies. It will support and encourage the involvement of parents, teachers, community representatives and local primary school interests as the key influencers of the College’s ethos and direction.
