The bombing of the Philippines by the Japanese on 8 December 1941 came as a shock to the United States even though some Americans were braced for other attacks following the infamy of Pearl Harbor the previous day.1 After the near destruction of the U.S . fleet in Hawaii, the Japanese were focused on the rows of B-17s and P-40s parked neatly in the mid-day sun at Clark Field. MacArthur's air force was destroyed on the ground on that Monday afternoon without a fight. On that day, Lieutenant Howard W. Brown, a radio intelligence veteran attached to the Second Signal Service Company at Manila, changed the mission of the Army intercept unit from Japanese diplomatic to potentially more lucrative air force communications and began reconstructing the tactical military nets serving the attacking Japanese. Thus began U.S. Army radio traffic analysis in World War II. In Europe, our entry into the war spurred closer cooperation with British signals intelligence. Radio traffic analysis, as indeed the entire field of Sigint, was comprehensively developed by the British following more than two years of war with the Germans. Bletchley Park, home of Britain's Government Code and Cipher School (GC&CS), became the center of Allied Sigint efforts in World War II. This included the preparation and training of U.S. -

Press Release Leading Philippine carrier takes Recaro Aircraft Seating on board its expanding fleet Cebu Pacific Air is launch customer for the Recaro SL3510 in the APAC region SCHWAEBISCH HALL, Germany and MANILA, Philippines. Cebu Pacific Air is the first airline in the Asia-Pacific region to order the SL3510 seat model from Recaro Aircraft Seating for its 30 new A321neo aircraft. ISSUE NO.21 NOVEMBER 2016 Mactan Cebu International Airport is 2016 CAPA Asia Pacific Regional Airport of the Year Mactan Cebu International Airport has been recognized as this year’s Asia Pacific Regional Airport of the Year by CAPA Asia Pacific Aviation Awards of Excellence. The award was given last Nov 15 at the CAPA Aviation Summit in Singapore and was received by GMCAC Chief Executive Advisor Mr. Andrew Harrison with GMCAC President Mr. Louie Ferrer. This award is given to the regional airport that ‘has been the biggest standout strategically, has established itself as a leader, and done the most to advance the progress of the aviation industry.’ CAPA noted that Mactan-Cebu had become one of the fastest-growing airports in Asia, recording 14% growth in 2015 to 7.8 million passengers. International growth has been particularly fast, with a 20% rise in 2015 and a 19% increase through the first nine months of 2016. More Exciting Destinations!
