CONFIDENTIAL INTRODUCTION This guide is intended for the sole use of MBS Europe stockists, agents and representatives. The content in this guide is confidential and not intended for redistribution.

The content within this document is designed to assist you in your efforts to maximise your sales of MBS Mountainboards and accessories. The information is intended as a refresher course for your pitches and you should have at least a basic grasp of this knowledge. If you feel any further training is required for you or your staff please contact us.

WHY SELL MBS? 1. MBS is the original mountainboard company. Our name originally stood for Mountain Board Sports. 2. We invest a lot into R&D and testing to help progress the industry. The result of this is a good range of high quality products. Our products are produced to a higher standard than any of our competitors. Superior design - for riders by riders. 3. We support the industry and a big team of riders. We do a lot of work promoting not just the brand, but also the sports we are involved in. We attend a lot of national events and teach hundreds of people to mountainboard every year. 4. Our customer service is second to none. We provide expert advice and technical support to all our retailers as well as additional support for team and demo boards. 5. Most importantly for your bottom line we provide good margins. By operating year round we allow you to rotate your stock frequently and re order when you need more. Our low order levels and good discounts mean it is easy to achieve 100% mark up (exc. VAT) and not be left with old stock.

TEAM RIDERS MBS supports the shop team rider concept. We believe in supporting the local scene that surrounds a shop and are willing to help out. For that reason we are able to offer 1 rider per shop 1 board at 30% discount from the standard trade price. The board should be kept for a minimum of 6 months. This is only available once a year.

DEMO BOARDS We know a lot of customers prefer to try before they buy, and we also know that once they ride one of our boards they will want to buy it. With a number of shops having the facility to allow riders to try before they buy it makes sense to support that. Shops will be allowed up to 1 board of each model at 30% off the standard trade price. These boards should be kept for a minimum of 6 months. This is only available once a year.

WARRANTY MBS boards come with a one year manufacturers warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. In case of a suspected warranty it is important to gather as much information as possible.

1.0 BOARDS

1.1 PRO RANGE

1.1.1 MBS PRO 100 – Tom Kirkman

Tom is a legend in the world of mountainboarding. From the early days he always stood out of the crowd for his talent and style. His style has strong skateboard influences. He is the one who is going faster than anyone else and jumping higher than everyone else. After a while out of the sport Tom is now back in a big way. In 2009 he won the World Downhill Championships (no brake) in France, then the World Freestyle Championships in August, and was crowned the overall winner of the Cream Teas and Jam series proving he is truly the best mountainboarder out there.

The board is built to Toms specifications. The board is stiff, allowing you to tackle the biggest jumps and fastest tracks with precision. To help reduce weight and increase strength we have removed all unnecessary inserts. We have stuck to the tried and tested wood core with a reverse cap composite wrap and PBT graphics. This comes together to create a bombproof deck with vibrant coloured graphics. Dan Wilson, one of the guys behind Remolition worked with Tom, who provided his own sketches to create a truly unique graphic.

The next big change is Matrix Pro trucks. The Matrix channel truck has proved unbeatable so far, and this is the next level of development. We have been developing metal top trucks for a while and finally they are ready. The result is an even more bombproof truck than before that is lighter than before and provides more controlled turning than before.

To keep up with the bombproof theme the board is fitted with F4 Pro bindings (white) with aluminium L brackets and Rockstar Pro hubs (silver) and T3 tyres (black).

1.1.2 MBS PRO 95 – Jereme Leafe

Jereme is back and badder than ever, and the board that bears his name is the same. To start with, we totally retooled the Pro 95 deck to be reverse cap construction (RCC) and added a whole inch of width under foot so its more stable on the rails and gives you more control over every move you make. We've also upgraded the base to PBT so it slides like butter while protecting it's stylin' new graphics. But we didn't stop with the deck. We've taken all the tried and true componentry of the previous Pro 95 (including aluminum RS Pro hubs) and added an even poppier deck lay-up, new Matrix Pro trucks (with CNC 6061-T6 aluminum top trucks), and new F4 Pro bindings (with aluminum L-brackets). 1.1.3 MBS PRO 90 – Kite

The MBS Pro 90 is the ultimate production kiteboard. The board was designed in conjunction with and to meet the demands of the MBS Europe Pro Kite Team – Lewis Wilby, Mark Berry and Dave Ursell. These are without doubt some of the most progressive riders in the World and also some of the most demanding.

The Pro 90 deck is truly original in terms of shape and construction. The shape allows us to save weight and create a well-balanced board making those aerial manoeuvres much easier. The super strong unidirectional carbon- fibre weave which actually shows through the bottom graphic, and the other layers come together to create a stiff, responsive and extremely poppy deck.

We further strengthened our ATS truck design, and adding a titanium axle reduced the weight where it matters the most, at the boards tips, creating the best truck for freestyle kiteboarding we could.

The development of the T3 tyre was truly groundbreaking for land based kiting. No other tyre provides the same level of grip against the strong lateral forces created by edging against the kite. This allows riders to edge much harder and because of it go much higher.

The Twistar hubs were designed with 10 spokes instead of 5 to allow them to keep their shape forever. The hardwareless design makes them quick and easy to assemble and greatly reduces the time taken to swap tyres or an inner tube.

1.2.1 MBS COMP 95X

This is our top freeride board. We have taken our immensely popular Comp 95 and beefed it up for freeriding with Tri-Spoke hubs and 9 T2 tyres giving it the extra ground clearance. A V5 brake kit allows you to control your speed where there is no space for the usual power slides. Together with classic Matrix trucks this is a bombproof board. The board is finished with our super comfortable F4 bindings.

This is the perfect board for trail riding and tricky descents and is very popular in the Alps and woods. Freeriding and downhill racing is going to be a big development over the next couple of years. There is a European downhill championship. Details: Part # 91313 Part Description COMP 95X

1.2.2 MBS COMP 95

The MBS Comp 95 is a very versatile board suitable for all levels of rider. From the entry level rider who requires a larger and stiffer set up to the weekend warrior who freerides, freestyles and just has a good time. The Comp 95 features all the classic MBS components like the Matrix trucks, Twistar hubs and F4 bindings this year. It has been a solid board for many years and one of our most popular boards.

The board is bombproof and perfect for all levels of downhill rider. The 95 cm deck length provides a comfortable stance for adult riders, and is more than stiff enough to support the weight of larger riders.

1.2.3 MBS COMP 90

The Comp 90 is a great cross over board between the kiting and downhill side of things. It is shorter than most mountainboards making it ideal for smaller riders and kiters. It is considerably lighter than most mountainboards thanks to the Vector (pat pending) truck system. These are a cross between the traditional channel truck and the skate truck making the Comp 90 very versatile.

The Comp boards feature our F4 ratchet bindings, allowing riders to lock their feet in tight. Twistar hubs help keep the weight down whilst T3 tyres provide plenty of grip.

1.3.1 MBS CORE 95

The Core 95 is an excellent advanced level board for freestyle riders and kiteboarders. It features our lightweight Vector trucks and totally redesigned F2 bindings keeping the board weight down. This board makes a fantastic choice for anybody looking for all-around performance at a price that wont break the bank.

The lightweight nature of this board together with the 95cm deck length make it ideal for taller riders who do not have the weight or strength to justify a heavier board.

1.3.2 MBS CORE 90

The Core 90 is a great board for kiteboarding. It features a short deck together with lightweight All Terrain Skate (ATS) trucks, Twistar hubs, lightweight T1 tyres and the completely redesigned F2 bindings to create a very light, well balanced and nimble board perfect for kiting.

Young rippers who find the bigger boards too heavy will also love the Core 90. We have done our best to create a lightweight board featuring great components at a good price. The board is fully compatible with other MBS components making it easy to upgrade.

In 2010 we have moved away from the Atom 95 and gone with an Atom 90. We feel this size fits within the range better and caters to a key segment of the market. The MBS Atom 90 is the perfect board for entry-level riders wanting to experience the thrill of mountainboarding. The MBS Atom 85 is the perfect board for entry-level junior riders wanting to experience all aspects of mountainboarding. F1 bindings are perfect for smaller feet. A shorter and narrower deck, coupled with 14.5 skate trucks and 7 wheels make this a great junior board. This board has everything it needs to perform while keeping some change in your pocket. 2.0 ACCESSORIES & SPARES 2.1 DECKS

Reverse Cap Construction (Pro 100, Pro 95) Reverse Cap Composite construction (RCC) consists of a composite structure (epoxy with fiberglass or other high end fibers such as carbon or kevlar) wrapped around a full-length vertically laminated wood core. The bottom surface of the deck is wrapped upward to meet the top surface during the molding process to protect the edge and provide the best sliding surface possible. MBS CAP decks included stainless steel inserts for mounting F- series bindings and / or grab handles.

Sandwich Construction (Pro 90) Sandwich Composite Construction (SWC) consists of a top and bottom layer of composite material (epoxy with fiberglass or other high end fibers such as carbon or kevlar), sandwiching a full-length vertically laminated wood core. The entire perimeter of the deck is protected by a super durable half inch ABS sidewall. MBS SWC decks included stainless steel inserts for mounting grab handles and F-series bindings.

PowerLam Composite Construction (Comp and Core range) PowerLam Composite Contruction (PLC) is a time tested construction technique, combined with current composite technology. Powerlam decks consist of a horizontal laminate core made from several wood veneers. Different types of veeners are strategically placed throughout the deck to yield the optimum performance required for that type of deck. Fiberglass is then added to the lay-up to increase the strength to weight ratio. MBS concentrates fiberglass layers as close to the top and bottom layers as possible as this is where the bending stresses are at the highest. Powerlam decks come predrilled for F-series bindings and MBS grab handles.

Maple Laminate (Atom range) Maple Laminate is the tried and true technology that the entire skateboard industry was built on and still thrives on today. Maple laminiates consist of several thin maple wood veneers shaped and molded together to form a single deck structure that provides the back-bone of all MBS Atom mountainboards. Maple Laminate decks come predrilled for F-series bindings and MBS grab handles.

2.4 TYRES

MBS T1 (Black, Red, Blue, Grey)

Thanks to it's well defined center bead and arced tread profile, MBS' original custom tread, the T1, is still the fastest 8" tread on the market, but it's the fact that the T1 is still the lightest tire on the market that makes it the top choice for freestyle mountainboarders around the world.

MBS T2 (Black)

The MBS T2 tire is the obvious choice for riders wanting a little extra clearance to tackle the obstacles that lay in their path. Made with a super tough rubber compound for unmatched durability. ONLY fits MBS Trispoke hubs.

MBS T3 (Black, Red, Green, Yellow)

The design of the T3 tire builds upon the tried and true performance of the T1 by using similar tread elements in new ways. The result is a great new tread with increased durability and multi-terrain functionality. Split Center Bead modeled on traditional T1 bead. This design element combined with a flatter profile puts more rubber on the ground. This increases overall durability as well as traction on pavement. Center Channel helps to channel water in wet conditions. “T” Knobs provide excellent grip in soft terrain such as loose dirt and wet grass, or on harder terrain with low tire pressure.

MBS Roadie

This slick tyres are designed for those who love riding in urban environments. They help get more speed on the flats, and grip on tarmac. Skatepark riders will also love them.

2.5 BINDINGS & HEELSTRAPS

MBS F1 Bindings

The simplest of bindings, ideal for smaller feet and standard on our Atom range. These use a simple Velcro system.

MBS F2 Bindings

They come fitted with our nylon L brackets and are compatible with all our products. Simple, lightweight and adjustable these are great bindings for those who do not require ratchets.

MBS F4 Bindings

A replacement for the F3 which was popular for a long time. The F4 is more refined, and takes influence from snowboard binding styles. Equipped with ratchets they are adjustable and hold your feet securely. They come as standard with nylon L brackets, and are available in black or white.

MBS F4 Pro Bindings

These are like the standard F4s but come equipped with aluminium L brackets which are stronger and allow for extra adjustability.

MBS FX Pro Heelstraps

Simply the best heelstraps available today. We have refined their design over the years and learnt what works best. These are compatible with any MBS bindings using an L bracket such as the F2, F4 and F4 Pro.

MBS Pro Gloves

These are wrap around wrist guard half finger glove. Every mountainboarder uses these pretty much but they have become impossible to find so we have developed our own.
