Retailer and Rep Guide 2010 MBS EUROPE RETAILER AND REP GUIDE 2010 CONFIDENTIAL INTRODUCTION This guide is intended for the sole use of MBS Europe stockists, agents and representatives. The content in this guide is confidential and not intended for redistribution. The content within this document is designed to assist you in your efforts to maximise your sales of MBS Mountainboards and accessories. The information is intended as a refresher course for your pitches and you should have at least a basic grasp of this knowledge. If you feel any further training is required for you or your staff please contact us. Any suggestions of the content to be added to this guide should be sent to [email protected] WHY SELL MBS? 1. MBS is the original mountainboard company. Our name originally stood for Mountain Board Sports. 2. We invest a lot into R&D and testing to help progress the industry. The result of this is a good range of high quality products. Our products are produced to a higher standard than any of our competitors. Superior design - for riders by riders. 3. We support the industry and a big team of riders. We do a lot of work promoting not just the brand, but also the sports we are involved in. We attend a lot of national events and teach hundreds of people to mountainboard every year. 4. Our customer service is second to none. We provide expert advice and technical support to all our retailers as well as additional support for team and demo boards. 5. Most importantly for your bottom line we provide good margins. By operating year round we allow you to rotate your stock frequently and re order when you need more. Our low order levels and good discounts mean it is easy to achieve 100% mark up (exc. VAT) and not be left with old stock. TEAM RIDERS MBS supports the shop team rider concept. We believe in supporting the local scene that surrounds a shop and are willing to help out. For that reason we are able to offer 1 rider per shop 1 board at 30% discount from the standard trade price. The board should be kept for a minimum of 6 months. This is only available once a year. DEMO BOARDS We know a lot of customers prefer to try before they buy, and we also know that once they ride one of our boards they will want to buy it. With a number of shops having the facility to allow riders to try before they buy it makes sense to support that. Shops will be allowed up to 1 board of each model at 30% off the standard trade price. These boards should be kept for a minimum of 6 months. This is only available once a year. WARRANTY MBS boards come with a one year manufacturers warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. In case of a suspected warranty it is important to gather as much information as possible. • What board it is? • What component is there a problem with? • When the product was originally bought. • Where the product was originally bought. • Board serial number (silver sticker on base of deck) • What the rider was doing when the problem arose. • Describe the issue as best you can. • Explain the desired outcome. • Include photos if possible. PRODUCT GUIDE 1.0 BOARDS 1.1 PRO RANGE 1.1.1 MBS PRO 100 – Tom Kirkman Tom is a legend in the world of mountainboarding. From the early days he always stood out of the crowd for his talent and style. His style has strong skateboard influences. He is the one who is going faster than anyone else and jumping higher than everyone else. After a while out of the sport Tom is now back in a big way. In 2009 he won the World Downhill Championships (no brake) in France, then the World Freestyle Championships in August, and was crowned the overall winner of the Cream Teas and Jam series proving he is truly the best mountainboarder out there. The board is built to Toms specifications. The board is stiff, allowing you to tackle the biggest jumps and fastest tracks with precision. To help reduce weight and increase strength we have removed all unnecessary inserts. We have stuck to the tried and tested wood core with a reverse cap composite wrap and PBT graphics. This comes together to create a bombproof deck with vibrant coloured graphics. Dan Wilson, one of the guys behind Remolition worked with Tom, who provided his own sketches to create a truly unique graphic. The next big change is Matrix Pro trucks. The Matrix channel truck has proved unbeatable so far, and this is the next level of development. We have been developing metal top trucks for a while and finally they are ready. The result is an even more bombproof truck than before that is lighter than before and provides more controlled turning than before. To keep up with the bombproof theme the board is fitted with F4 Pro bindings (white) with aluminium L brackets and Rockstar Pro hubs (silver) and T3 tyres (black). To start with, we totally retooled the Pro 95 deck to be reverse cap construction (RCC) and added a whole inch of width under foot so its more stable on the rails and gives you more control over every move you make. We've also upgraded the base to PBT so it slides like butter while protecting it's stylin' new graphics. But we didn't stop with the deck. We've taken all the tried and true componentry of the previous Pro 95 (including aluminum RS Pro hubs) and added an even poppier deck lay-up, new Matrix Pro trucks (with CNC 6061-T6 aluminum top trucks), and new F4 Pro bindings (with aluminum L-brackets). All this makes Jereme's new Pro 95 required equipment for anyone wanting to push the limits of freestyle mountainboarding / kiteboarding. The board was designed in conjunction with and to meet the demands of the MBS Europe Pro Kite Team – Lewis Wilby, Mark Berry and Dave Ursell. These are without doubt some of the most progressive riders in the World and also some of the most demanding. The Pro 90 deck is truly original in terms of shape and construction. The shape allows us to save weight and create a well-balanced board making those aerial manoeuvres much easier. The super strong unidirectional carbon- fibre weave which actually shows through the bottom graphic, and the other layers come together to create a stiff, responsive and extremely poppy deck. We further strengthened our ATS truck design, and adding a titanium axle reduced the weight where it matters the most, at the boards tips, creating the best truck for freestyle kiteboarding we could. The development of the T3 tyre was truly groundbreaking for land based kiting.

The group supports a skate park in Tumwater and each member would like to help create the park by initiating a conversation with the Commission, participating in the project, and serving as a resource to help facilitate the process. The group’s intent is to have the City of Tumwater construct a skatepark in the City, serve as resources for the project, and serve the community by forming a Tumwater skate team. The group is a collaborative effort by many individuals who plan to serve as a research team, a public relations team, and as a synthesis team to support better results. Members plan to attend future Commission meetings, continue the social media campaign, continue to work on the project, conduct public meetings to build consensus in the community, initiate a public petition process, identify sources of grants and contractors, provide information to the Commission on an ongoing basis, and serve as consultants for the skatepark.

    Alrighty! Here we go again, more Scuz M.Z. goodness for ya. We have more new look goodness, courtesy of our evil German friend Eric ‘the fuhrer’ Dockhorn, Old Welly’s back on the scene and it’s so good to have him back. Chris, as ever, sorting sh*t out and doing his thing. We’ve all been scribbling quite a lot but I’ll take the credit for all spelling mistakes, grammar errors, typos and general Scuz slovenlyness! Paul “Bet he’s glad he’s not on the proper Exit team after what happened this summer’ Butler has been racing and writ- ing lots, and appearing in a national broadsheet newspaper, pulling ‘THE’ method. Thanks to the Sunday Times newspaper for featuring our photo. Due to Dr. Brodie’s hard work and operational thinking, we have more adverts and although we don’t want to fill up too much with ads, it means that we are getting more of this free goodness out to everyone and that’s what we want. After all, someone’s got to pay for it! We have some excellent and useful information from Gary Holcombe and Team MEBA, we have stories from the last three rounds of the UK season, stories about woodland mentalness, doing a summer season; all sorts! Also welcome the return of the mighty Scuz competition. We expect no entries, just like before... although we like surprises. After using too many political articles taken from a somewhat stateside perspective, we are going to start running some articles from British political thinkers.
