Saturday, January 26, 2013 All proceeds benefit the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association Outreach 907 Fund POSA was founded in 1998 and is made up of men and women who serve in law enforcement from the City of Scottsdale. The members of the organization are so dedicated to helping the community that in 2005, POSA Outreach, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization was created. Programs benefit all members of the community including youth, parents, seniors, families and merchants. The 907 Fund (also known as the Officer Needs Assistance Fund) was created in 2007 to help both sworn and civilian law enforcement personnel with financial assistance and has helped over 50 families since its inception. The 907 Fund is named for the police radio code “907,” meaning an officer is calling for emergency assistance. In his sophomore season, he led the nation in scoring. Adams played 17 NHL seasons with the Devils, Canucks, Stars, Coyotes and Panthers. He scored 355 goals, had 388 assists, and 326 penalty minutes. This is Adams’ 2nd POSA Outreach 907 Fund Charity Hockey Game. Wade Campbell - From Peace River, Alberta, Campbell was signed by the Winnipeg Jets in 1982. In his time, he played for the Jets and Bruins, among several other minor league clubs in the AHL. He played in 213 NHL games, scoring 9 goals and 27 assists as a defenseman. He totaled 305 penalty minutes as well. Petr Chytka – Born in Brno, Czech Republic, Chytka played for the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves. Chytka moved on to play with the Anchorage Aces and two Czech professional teams, tallying a total of 29 games. This is Chytka’s 2nd POSA Outreach 907 Fund Charity Hockey Game. Sean Gauthier – “Goats” was born in Sudbury, Ontario and drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1991 draft. Over 14 years, Goats was the backstop for several professional teams, including the NHL, AHL, ECHL, IHL, and Europe. Goats maintained a 90% or better save percentage for most of his career and was the winning goaltender in the 1st POSA Outreach 907 Fund Charity Hockey Game. Cale Hulse – Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, CA, Hulse was drafted in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the New Jersey Devils. Playing defense for the New Jersey Devils, Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes, and the Columbus Blue Jackets, Hulse racked up 619 games, 16 goals, 79 assists and over 1,000 penalty minutes. NHL Alumni Nick Naumenko – Born in Chicago, Illinois, Naumenko was drafted in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft by the St. Louis Blues as a defenseman. After playing for the UND Fighting Sioux, Naumenko played 14 seasons between the AHL, IHL, Germany and Switzerland. He played in 768 games, scored 116 goals, had 355 assists, and 693 penalty minutes. Steve Potvin – This Montreal, Quebec born winger, Potvin played in 669 AHL, ECHL and Europe contests, accumulating 206 goals, 358 assists and over 1000 penalty minutes (PIM). Before retiring, Potvin played for our own Arizona Sundogs from Prescott. Craig Reichert – Hailing from Winnipeg, MB, Canada, Reichert was drafted in 1994 by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks as a winger. He played 3 games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 1996–97 NHL season. He accumulated more than 1400 games in 12 seasons between the NHL, IHL, AHL and in Germany. He tallied over 259 goals, 415 assists, and 680 penalty minutes. Tim Watters - From Kamloops, BC, Watters was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft, as a defenseman. After playing over 13 seasons between the Jets, Kings, and Phoenix Roadrunners, Watters totaled up 828 games, 31 Goals, 170 assists, and nearly 1400 penalty minutes.     MEDIA GUIDE 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship A chance to see the best ice hockey players One misconception about the IIHF World Junior Championships is that it features “future” stars. If you look at the development of the event, you will realize that this magnificent tournament features players who are world class stars already today. The World Juniors also show, by the way, how quickly a year goes by. Let’s take you back to December 2012 and the IIHF World U20 event in Ufa, Russia. Canada’s Ryan Nugent-Hopkins who led the tournament in scoring with 15 points in 6 games is today an integral part of the Edmonton Oilers while his countrymen Jonathan Huberdeau (9 points in 6 games in Ufa) and Mark Scheifele (8 points in 6 games) are the future of the Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets respectively. USA’s All-Star defenseman and gold winner in Ufa, Jacob Trouba, is playing sensationally well for the Winnipeg while teammate Alex Galchenyuk personifies the new generation Montreal Canadiens. Last year’s dominating Finns Joel Armia and Markus Granlund have both signed NHL contracts and are biding their time in the AHL, but Swedes Filip Forsberg, Elias Lindholm and Rickard Rakell have all played NHL games this season. So think about this when you watch the 38th IIHF World Junior event in Malmö – you may most likely have one chance to see the best players. Next year they are probably celebrated professionals either in the NHL or in any of the European leagues. A good example of the natural turnover is the defending World Champion United States: from last year’s golden roster in Ufa only there are only three returnees on the 2014 team.

    OTHER HOCKEY LEAGUES {Appendix 4.1, to Sports Facility Reports, Volume 15} Research completed as of August 15, 2014 AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE (AHL) (AAA) League Update: The AHL had three team changes in 2013–2014: The Connecticut Whale changed their name back to the Hartford Wolf Pack; the Houston Aeros relocated to Des Moines, Iowa and became the Iowa Wild; and the Peoria Rivermen moved to the Southern Professional Hockey League. With the relocation of the Abbotsford Heat (now Adirondack Flames) and the Adirondack Phantoms (now Lehigh Valley Phantoms), the AHL realigned the league. The Flames will be play in the North Division and the Phantoms will be playing in the East Division. The Syracuse Crunch moved from the East Division to the Northeast Division. Lake Erie moved from the North Division to the Midwest Division and the Iowa Wild moved from the Midwest to the West Division. Additionally, the NHL and AHL have discussed moving teams west in order to accommodate the NHL's western franchises. Having teams on the west coast would make player transfers easier from the minor leagues to the NHL for the western teams. Kelly ECHL Commissioner Emeritus 2008 Inductee ECHL Hall of Fame Patrick J. Kelly was named Commissioner Emeritus of the ECHL in 1996 after serving as Commissioner for the first eight seasons of the ECHL. He was inducted into the inaugural class of the ECHL Hall of Fame in 2008. Kelly celebrated his 59th season in hockey in 2011-12, having begun his career with the St. Catherine Teepees of the Ontario Junior Hockey League in 1952. He played professionally for the Springfield Indians of the American Hockey League, the Trois Riveres Lions in the Quebec League, Troy Bruins of the International Hockey League and the Greensboro Generals of the Eastern Hockey League. He helped Crowland capture the 1948-49 Bantam B Championship of Ontario, beating Peterborough in the finals. He began his coaching career in the Eastern Hockey League, beginning with the Jersey Devils and later with the Clinton (New York) Comets from 1965-73. Clinton was 151-39- 28 and won three straight regular season and postseason titles from 1967-70. In 1967-68, the Comets finished with a 57-5-10 record, making them the only professional team in history to lose only five games or less in a season, and in 1969-70, Kelly was named Minor League Coach of the Year by The Hockey News. Kelly served as head coach and general manager for Charlotte in the Southern Hockey League from 1973-76 guiding the Checkers to a 136-68-12 record, two regular season titles and two postseason titles while earning Coach of the Year honors in the SHL twice.
